I have a pair of Chicago Professional plates that look very similar to the Snyder Super Deluxe, pivots, rubber cushions, offset toe stop, polished finish etc. They are mounted on Riedell boots that I purchased in 1985. Love this set up.
@@rollerskateuniverse6763 I wonder how Chicago got around Snyder's patent? They look almost identical except for maybe the mounting flange on the truck is shaped slightly different. I will have to check out the GM2's. You have a great and informative channel.
Got my Snyder super deluxe on 297 boots used 30 years ago and they'll go after I'm gone. The boot said gold star but I can't find that model listed, they closely resemble the 297s. They were a few years old when I got them.
Can you do a vid on the best affordable and/or high-end plates for big/tall guys who have a problem with the kingpins snapping/breaking? You may have mentioned this issue in other videos but I was wondering if you could do a quick overview on this topic. Asking for a friend! He needs something that will last longer than a few months without snapping off 🤗
@@rollerskateuniverse6763 so he has already snapped one kingpin on a pair of Chicagos that were gifted to him, as well as one kingpin on the stock aluminum plate that comes on the Sure Grip 1300. I am encouraging him to invest in something higher quality because he is really good, and he needs something more responsive that can withstand some abuse. He has some ideas from friends but I figured I would ask you since it may be a topic others can benefit from too. Thanks, you are awesome!
Thanks for this great video! Do you know the weight difference between the Super Deluxe Dance plates (with dance plug) regular version and the Lite version? I just got new Riedell boots with Super Deluxe Dance plates, and I feel like I'm wearing Frankenstein boots. Would it be worth it to switch to the Lite version, and do they use the same mounting? Thanks
I have two pairs of skates currently, a 297 on an Atlas plate and a new pair of 297s on the Snyder super deluxe plate. I want to love them as much as my Atlas, but I don’t. The action is so much different, no matter how much I tighten the trucks, when I lean into them they just give so much more than the Atlas. I’m considering switching to a RollLine Mistral plate and rubber cushions. Those sure grip “super long lasting” toe stops, I’ve shredded through 3 pairs just this season! 😂 I got a set of Gumball stops that I’m really enjoying… art skater turned outdoor/trail skater… always spin on the bridges. 🛼✌🏼❤️
I am 53 and started using Atlas when I was 16 years old. The AE84 is the best plate ever in my opinion. I have skated in Snyder's too,but they are just too heavy compared to the Atlas.
