@CieloWiGleInc I have two costway mini splits and a one pioneer at my vacation home. If I get three of these, will it be able to work with those brands? I just want temp monitoring and the ability to turn on or alter Temps while at my main residence.

Hi, it doesn't work with batteries. You can power it up using the 5V adapter (comes in the box) or through a wired connection of 12/24V AC/DC.
