Just installed my speakers yesterday. 6 speaker set up with diamond audio amp and soundstream head unit. Wow what a difference from my my Polk audio MM1 speakers. Thanks Jay for the advice you gave me. Now I’m truly happy with my system.
It would be great if you added links in the description to ever product you do a review on. Makes a so much easier to find on the website and takes the guess work out for anyone looking to purchase. I have noticed this with a lot of the videos you have already posted.
These look great. You’re doing a great job. I’m sure I’ll be getting in touch to continue upgrading my bike. Everything else I’ve done with you sounds great 👍🏼
I'm wanting to replace the front speakers in my 2008 Ultra which have the original 5.25 speakers. You said that you had 652 and 654 kit for the older bikes. Will these speakers work without an amp? Very good video. Your knowledge in bike audio is just fantastic. You have a new subscriber..
Any speaker can be used without an amp, but you will get the volume and clarity your after when you have a good quality amp properly set. We do offer these in a 5.25” or 6.5” set with adapters. volunteeraudio.com/product/volunteer-audio-hsb200-hd14-654 Thank you for subscribing and watching!
I have a 2013 street glide with a aquatic AV radio, was thinking about replacing stock speakers with these wood. I still need to run an amp, considering the radio has one built-in also would 4 or 2 ohm better
The aquatic radio has a very small amp, if using the radio amp you would want 2 ohm to get the most power from the radio. If adding an aftermarket amp I recommend 4 ohm
Great vid as always! Question, my bike came with the Rockford stage 2 and they sound great up to ~70mph÷. As of right now I don't want to cut or rewire a complete new system . How do these compare to the RFs leaving the stock RF amp and dropping in these 5x7s in the lids and 6.5s in fairing? Thanks!
Is there a warranty on the 6x9 precision power speakers? I noticed today one of my bag speakers aren’t working and I haven’t had them but maybe less then a year… I’m gonna look at some things when I get home and check all my connections and pinch points to double check but I’ve never had a single issue with them till today.. I absolutely LOVE the speakers but hoping to upgrade to the new HDHU9813 head unit with infinity cappa perfect speakers front and back soon!!
Great video Jay. I agree Rockford Fosgate first kit has its problems and short comings. Let's say you use Rockford Fosgate Tm400x4ad amp without the included 6.5 or 6x9. Which speakers would you use? The precision power or the hertz sx spl neo?
These are 2 different sounding speakers, the hertz neo are the better sounding of the Loud speaker category. The new precision power are a great full range speaker meaning it won’t be as loud as the Hertz but will play more Bass and sound more full.
So I purchased the HDHU14+ from you and installed in a 2017 Harley Ultra Limited. Now I am ready to replace the stock 6.5" speakers in the fairing and the tour pack. I am assuming that I can purchase 2 of these kits even though the kit description says this is a 'fairing kit'? Also, if I'm only using the HDHU14+ head unit with no plans to add an amp, I should go with the 2ohm kits?
When are u guys making a video on how they sound on the bike. Also I think you said on another comment I made. But will these speakers be louder then the Polk audio MM1’s even though the polks have more RMS
Efficiency is more important than total rms handling, I think the precision power will be as loud but have more bass than the mm1, we had been waiting on the precision power amps to come available, we just got them today, so soon I hope to do a complete install and video it
@@volunteeraudio would I be able to run the 6.5’s at 100w rms and the 6x9’s at 125w rms or do you think that might be to much power for those speakers? I’m running 6 speakers, 4 6.5’s at 200x2 at 2 ohms and 2 6x9’s 125x2 at 4 ohms. I’m currently running a diamond audio amp rated 800 total RMS. And a precision power head unit.
Jay, great stuff man. How tough is the conversion from a 5x7 Boom II lid speaker to a 6x9 on a 2016 Street Glide? Can't decide between replacing the 5x7 or upgrading to the 6x9.
The hard part is cutting the shell off and sanding flush, after that the adapter isn’t to bad to install. But the boom adapter is also $200. I’m excited to see the performance of this new 5x7 for this reason,
The infinity speakers have more high range than the precision power which gives the illusion of the precision power having more bass, both speakers sound great
Hey jay can you explain ohms, other than it being a measurement of resistance and how it relates to speakers and what happens if you mix different ohm speakers in a stereo system ?
This video has absolutely nothing to do with what you just asked. And if the Internet hasn't been able to explain ohms law to you thoroughly enough, I don't have much hope for anyone else doing so.
Hey jay brother I have a problem!! Finally got my advanblack new style bags with the 6x9 cut kit from advanblack and the speaker rubber flex ring don’t fit at all
I have a 2015 roadglide special and i have the soundz audio now,but i want to change out the front and bags speaker will the precision power 6.5 and 5.7 and do they come with the grill for front and rear will they fit whats the price range
Great video but in my opinion the word tune can mislead people who don’t understand because the crossover is setting a high for the tweeter and low for the mid bass so it’s not a tune more like a band pass crossover. Love the videos
I think a lot of people have been told you can’t build a great sounding system without a dsp, I’m here to show you that you can have a great sounding system without a dsp as long as you set your filters and gains correctly and use quality components
Hey brother. I have a set of 6x9 infinity kappa perfect 93IX I believe… and they will NOT fit in the molded lids I bought for my Harley and I really don’t want to trim the basket down to make them fit!! Do you know where I can buy JUST the cut kit with speaker basket and grills? I don’t want to spend $500+ on a cut kit with speakers and not even use the speakers!! All I need is the cut template, speaker mounts and the grills. I found a boss audio cut kit for like $350 but again I don’t want to spend that much money for just the mount template and grills…
Compared to what? They are comparable in price to GZ or Rockford, and sound better than both, great bass response and built with neo magnets and are waterproof, also much clearer at high volumes than the Rockford speakers
@@volunteeraudio These devices have some weight to them. I don’t think they should just bounce around loose inside the pods. Do you have a recommendation on how to attach them to the pod wall? Sorry for all the questions. I haven’t found one of your videos where you actually install the Precision Power amp and speakers in a Street Glide.
@@mbckjv I understand, this is the suggestion from precision power, I prefer the sound without the filter after listening to many installs we have done
