This product demonstration video gives the user of the Home Touch garment steamer step by step instructions on how to use the steamer, it's tools, and how to store it properly.
The steamer works for a few seconds and then stops steaming; the little red "fuse?" light does not go off and it is impossible to use it. Is there any way to repair this piece of junk?
You should be using distilled water and not tap water in it; the insides are probably chock full of mineral deposits. You can buy cleaning vinegar or garment steamer cleaning solutions, but if yours is that bad try using CLR or some other similar demineralizer or descaler, let it soak for a while or overnight, then empty it (there's a little drain plug on the bottom side) and flush it through with water 5 or 6 times.
I successfully used with distilled water twice. Suddenly, the thing didn't work when I refilled. Is there a button that has disabled it? no idea how to get it to work again. This is the 2nd one given to me. I was happy that this one worked but not for very long. I spotted a button/long sorta thing b y the right back wheel that didn't help any.
yara melissa Martins It's from your tap water, probably has a lot of deposits. Pour vinegar in the water filler and let it sit overnight and it should work fine. Then use distilled water from now on.
Reset button light is on after 10 sec. very frustrating to use this. Total waste of money, time. Company needs to stand behind their quality of the product, be answerable to customers.
I'm sorry but all the comments about using something to clean the steamer out and then using distilled water is not what will help as this thing stopped after the first use on me and after returning it and having the company send me another one, the second one did the same thing. Ummmmm......yeah.....I'm going to say I don't think it was mineral deposits. This thing has to be the biggest piece of junk I have purchased in a long time. The sad thing was that the one use I got out of it was good and as soon as I put the second shirt up, it literally just stopped, didn't turn off, it just stopped steaming and was still on.
bought this piece of crap and first of all... that little red light "reset" button... was lit from day one... didn't know it wasn't suppose to be since fresh out of the box... never used anything but distilled water in the piece of crap all 3 times I attempted to use it.. finally got fed up with it barely putting out any steam at all and brought it to get looked at since Target the piece of crap store I bought it at wouldn't take it back.. Was told that in fact, it is a piece of crap garment streamer and it would cost as much to have it fixed then to just buy a different one...
