Great tips. Often with analog synths I will leave the filter a bit more open than the final intended sound so that more highs can be rolled off later to reduce noise. If analog is captured too dark you can't get the highs back 👍🏼
@JanusRasmussen
@JanusRasmussen 4 года назад
I do that as well, and it works great, but sometimes I just really like having the filter quite closed on my Juno sounds and then add eq afterwards, there's just something I enjoy about that sound. I'll just have to live with all the hiss that comes with it 😅

@@JanusRasmussen maybe you should have your Juno checked out? It is actually one of my least noisy synths! My OB6 is the worst for noise... I have the Juno 60 as well and it came with the tubbutec mod from the previous owner, which can also create some different oscillator drift

Thank you Janus, your channel is very inspiring. Can you please make a tutorial how to recreate that typical dreamy atmosphere used for the strings in your Kiasmos tracks? I suppose it s a kind of shimmer or chorus plus reverb that surrounds the recorded strings

You and me both! I will have to fix it up before that though, it's very hard to keep alive, poor thing.

that's really helpful. I've always been using the sawtooth and not the square, will have to try using the square more on my juno boutique.

Great video. How do you identify these very specific 'problem' frequencies that you EQ individually(not the broad high/low pass kind of stuff)? I have seen this mentioned by others too, but it's not clear how they determine these specific frequencies. Cheers!

Hey Janus. Your videos are very helpful. Thanks a lot for sharing your skills. Two questions about working with the Juno 60: The Juno 60 has no midi, right? Is there a way to midi control the Juno 60 from ableton. With any midi to something converter? And have you ever tryed the Juno 106? Do you prefer the sound of the 60 over the 106? And if so, why? Thanks a lot for your help.

Thank you for this tutorial. It was very helpful Quick Question: How did you get your slate plugins to show in ableton?

Janus the fact that you have only 5k subscribers and personally respond to comments, you don't even know how ridiculous that is to me. Do people not realise you're 1/2nd of Kiasmos or what? :D Been at your DJ set a couple of years ago at P23 in Katowice, dope stuff! :)
