as a young civil engineer in kenya, what i know is kenya does not embrace nor appreciate professionals, this country of ours is a country of shortcuts and full of self-centered people.as professor ochieng puts it,people driving on our roads have self-interest,we always think about ourselves,in position of leadership, you think how you gonna benefit,in politics,we all think how we will benefit. the moment we love our country, the moment we all want to drive forward by providing the best environment for professionals to work and apply their skills without threats and intimidation, the moment we actually become patriots, that is the moment this nation can flourish and attain its potential in Africa.
This is very interesting. Prof Ochieng has said it all. UK citizens obey the traffic law and they are humble and kind on the roads. UK system is the best I have ever seen. All trains, buses, trams, underground all work together and use the same ticket especially 1 day travel card.
Kenyans have to be genuine with their feelings. You cannot now decide you require services of Professor Ochieng yet you complaining about a "huge" nation debt. Kenyas national debt at 49 billion US dollars is very small for a country of Kenyas size and stature. But Kenyas syllabus of education has rendered its huge young population semi delinquent thus the population of Kenya cannot aporeciate infrustructural changes and therein the benefits that come with these changes. Kenya's current public debt stands atapproximately 4.884 trillion Kenyan shillings (USD$49 billion) or 56.4% of the country's gross domestic product. Kenyans need to realise, building up of infrustructure is NOT "beautifying" the nation, but providing a platform for production and delivering of new and more goods and services. That is where filling of this infrustructural decifit comes in in boosting the dismal GDP
Last time i checked Tom Mboya, Dr R Ouko, Msando we're assassinated and brilliant man as Miguna Miguna that would have transformed Nairobi was deported to a country he was never born in, and by that what Kenya needs is recolonization.
Which Kenya..??? That idiot ? That corrupt country.??? That country where people are thieves.??? That country where people are so fake and copy cats...???? The MOST wasted energy country..???? Useless. Man Mr. PROFESSOR... JUST STAY WHERE YOU ARE.!!!
@@kiwishbj1 Which nation on this God's spec of dust is free of vice?? I'm intrested to know..and please tell me!! Question: You come up with the usual political one-liner "corruption"., so, What is "corruption" and WHY is it apparent? Jibu hayo.
Get back home, Prof. and give service to Kenya. With all her sham, chaos and unhealthy politics, Kenya still needs her diaspora experts to give back to her. Meanwhile, hongera sana for demonstrating leadership and expertise around the world.
@@tafari988 you people dont always need to infuse politics in everything, grow up!! There is life outside politics, the man who doesnt want miguna back home is that mongrel whom you worship like a god not uhuru, uhuru has no beef with miguna
Those saying that he should be in Kenya rendering his services are out of touch with reality. It's like telling a talented Kenya player he should be playing for got mahia instead of a top flight EUR team.
Bjay: Please don't restrict or equate ability with tribal lineage!! That is a rather woefully shallow conclusion. Be it known worldwide that any man from any region on earth given the same oppotunity can achieve the same or better results. It's a matter of determination, and some hard work. All there has to be available is the means and time. Justice is sending the most honest message to our folks.
@@kiwishbj1 You neither understood me then nor now. You didn't hear me say I want to change his tribe. You must be tribalistic centered. That mentality is woefully sad .
Tom Mboya, Argwings Kodhek, Ongili, Dr Robert Ouko and Msando, and that's just a few Luo's to mentionthat's been eliminated by Kenyan government and not forgetting brilliant Miguna Miguna born in Kenya but deported back to a country he was never born in! And by that let our Luo people in diaspora to thrive out there and even become US President and win Oscar's,, because Kenya only needs recolonization in order to function properly.
JM Kariuki was also assasinated by a government of his own tribe. Tribalism is the veil behind which the men who seek to exploit our country hide. It's easy to get away with murder by pointing fingers at people who speak a different language, eat different food, or dress differently. All life forms are naturally suspicious of the 'other'. Since we were given the opportunity to become one nation, after being exploited by the West, it is our responsibility to see the bigger picture. JM Kariuki was killed because he said that he didn't want to live in a country of 10 millionaires and 10 million beggars. Tom Mboya believed in empowering ourselves by building our minds. It is the men without minds, who want things for free, who created the tribal myth. Our country's tragedy is our belief in that myth.
China and asian countries rely on heavily on their diaspora and give them jobs at the highest level of govt . But in kenya its who you know no matter your qualifications. Just look at the kenyan raod contractors and the shoddy job they do but still get contracts from govt?
