What he says he's saying: they aren't doing animation like professionals What he's saying: they're basically doing animation like professionals What seems to be the actual point of the video: here's how to do animation like professionals, using examples from a pro studio and examples from youtubers who use the same basic methods
I went more educational than dRaMatiC- if you want to be a story artist, PAY ATTENTION! how was the balance of fun* to education?-- the left ear situation: it wasn't like that when I edited it, sry. not sure what that's about. thanks for watching anyway--
Cool video! Would be really great if half of the audio wasn't panned entirely into my left ear though. Kind of an amateur mistake, but it's understandable. After all, it's not like you've been working on amazing animated productions for nearly two decades (love you)
Every single upload never fails to get me inspired and wanting to do complicated shots like that. Like, even if I don't know what i'm doing at all, it still gets me so motivated You're like the Bob Ross of digital animation.
Hohohooooo I can feel the tension between the Odd1sOut fans and Odd1sOut haters who randomly found this, meanwhile everyone who actually watches Ethan Becker knows exactly what is about to happen
I don't know about you guys, but I have a feeling that there's going to be a lot of Odd1sOut stans that won't understand the sarcasm or the man himself not understanding the sarcasm
that's true when I first discovered this channel back in 2019. I never understood the sarcastic humour that well until I took improv last year. Which turned me into a subscriber. lol
that's what i'm afraid of, they'll think that "OMG THIS GUY IS SO NARCISSISTIC" but if they watched the video Ethan actually mentions that the Odd1sOut music video uses the same technique as in professional animation.
You're basically the artist version of that one character in every anime who's leagues above our main characters but shows up, destroys them in a fight and then makes an inspiring speech about how they should keep getting stronger until one day they can fight you again
Ethan doesn't even critique the people he talks about, he more so breaks down what they do using actual industry terminology while playing it up as a attack. If anything, if you're being talked about in Ethan's video, it shows you're doing things right.
Calling other people's passion driven work "trash" and laughing at it is too rude I'm sorry. I wish he added a disclaimer in his video saying that he's actually good friends with the odd1sout or something
@@rubhoob3431 Dude he says it entirely as a joke and compliments him the entire time. It's called looking past the surface level. The entire thing is a love letter to the offshoot and production team, if anything he makes himself be the idiot cause he describes things they do while playing up a character.
@@rubhoob3431 These are wholesome jokes, if u hear closely he is lokey praising the work like any of his other vids but also passing ideas and info, this is what he does but if he doesn't that wouldn't be entertaining
For you guys who don’t know, Ethan makes fun of the artists ironically and talks to them first and asks if he can make the video. Sinix outted him about doing this when they did a collab a while back lol
@@rubhoob3431 he doesn’t actually insult them if you really watch the video. And he’s so over the top, i don’t see how you can take him seriously. Also, once you came to the comments section, you found out its all a joke right? So it’s fine. He does these videos to teach and for comedy
To y'all newer people please know this is a click bait title he's actually a professional and gives vaild criticism. His "rudeness" is just a character/persona he is playing. He's not literally meaning they are trash/not a real animator. Just some improvements could be good.
THATS HOW 3D BACKGROUND IN ANIMATION WORKS??? Actually I thought that they drew the background in each frame and wondered how they did the effect and composition I’ve been illuminated
not all people will watch your other video's if their first impression is that your a very angry person that hates everything that is likable and likes everything that is hated
@@dead_channe1 Ethan always acts like this, it’s a persona he isn’t actualky being mean. The more sarcastic he is in a video means the more he actualky likes something the artist he is talking about is doing. You should watch him more, he gives a lot of good art tips especially since he’s a professional
Me watching this with only my right headphone in wondering why the animation parts are silent then realizing halfway through that I need my other headphone: 👁👄👁
I'm gonna be honest, it's kinda sad that some of the storyboards have way more dynamic and emotional looking animation than the clean and pristine scenes.
*"This is RU-vid vs Netflix animation. I'm Ethan becker and you're watching Disney channel-"* **swings knife magically** Combination of words had never been more beautifully executed. I will never get tired of this intro.
Its crazy to know Ethan made that scene, when I watched it, it was one of the best sequences I've ever seen. But I gotta say, he must have left the team after the 4th episode, because scenes like that never show up again for the rest of the show!
I’m just wondering how much freedom he has with the animation. He’s saying a lot, I can only guess he’s in a really high position for this studio with all the freedom he has “they didn’t even have this in the script” like wow
I can respect a guy i just found on RU-vid being purposely an annoying asshole while giving credit to the people's he 'roasting' just so we enjoy learning something. You my friend earned a subscriber.
-The very idea of "fixing" something like theodd1sout's animatic-inspired style of storytelling, is impliying his videos aren't in fact INCREDIBLY EFFECTIVE at what he's trying to accomplish. The undelying attitude of this video comes off as petty. *watches the entire video* -Oh.
This is my first video here, and as a disliker of pretentious assholes I was all ready to be mad but then the video was actually hilarious and really positive XD Also I'm getting...like Daniel Greene vibes?? He's a booktuber so I doubt the comparison is intentional? (unless it is and I'm just dumb) But still...eerily similar
Wow that was crazy to get an in depth look at professional storyboards, it makes my student work this semester look like middle school cringe comics. And to any other Odd1sout fan that's upset that he's "hating" on James and Rush, even though they do animation for a living they aren't on a professional level of experience as Ethan, that's what he's pointing out when they aren't using professional terms or direction.
hello young child who pressed on this video only to comment on him saying odd1sout animation is trash. watch the video before you comment cuz you might learn something and even find out hes not actually calling his animation bad
i surprisingly noticed a lot of these things just by watching animated shows. I've grown to appreciate things like the work that goes into these amazing shows like Avatar.
Holy shit I just found out you worked for Dragon's Blood because I was just skipping the video time to time then I saw the chasing mountain scene and I was like; "This looks familiar..." So out of topic; I'm surprised you made that scene, that was really well executed :O
Honestly most of lower budget anime is just static picture with moving mouth xD So the bar is low and TheOdd1nOut is reaching the bar from what i understand about animation xD
Why does it take so long for the Odd1sout to make a still image on paint tool sai? And why does he get all the subs? Rushlight is the one who works the hardest here. I can understand why it takes so long for Jaiden animations to make a video, since hers are actually fully animated on clip studio paint, but for the Odd1sout? it takes him 3 months for him to draw still images and then put them in premiere. Jeez.
I love when you're so into what you're saying that it ends up making you chortle as well. Real talk though, this is super duper interesting. I love behind the scenes things with animations!
Been in traditioanal animation industry for morethan 5 years as an inbetweener / clean up artist. Now im just doin bunch of craps. Miss those days. Tons of catching to make.
