Climbing is so overdramatized. The craze over Free Solo scares people away from what climbing can be. It's actually very safe if you don't deliberately endanger yourself!
Climbing is not very safe; it's not safe at all. I've lived in Washington State my whole life: people die in the mountains all the time. The safety of climbing (and I include scrambling and alpine climbing in this) is an illusion: it seems like there are few accidents relative to how many climbers there are, but the reality is that there aren't that many climbers...a lot of people TRY climbing, they SAMPLE it, but almost nobody sticks with it. I guarantee if you ask Jimmy Chin if he knows anyone who's died climbing he could give you a list, and he could give you another list of people he knows who were critically injured. Saying climbing is safe is about as dumb as saying commercial fishing or logging is safe.
Let no one say that we sat idly by doing nothing. Shame on all the youtubers who don't talk about the current cruel agenda What are you talking about, you say: Find out exactly what you put in your blood! Give me a link where I can file all the evidence if you don't want to search.
