I’m a Diamond 2 Terran player and I could totally feel that last game being me, I felt it right in my bones, I was so hyped when I guessed it right haha
I think someone like Alex would be the best person to talk about balance. If he has all three races on similar level in gm plus he is a matematician so he is more likely to think objectively, he shloud have some word in balance changes
His word basically is "leave 2 races be". The fact that he plays random doesn't mean anything per se, because he's still a human with his personal preferences regarding the gameplay. Playing random makes him even more arrogant since he has an "expertise" though
Yeah, but pro build normally include 1 or 2 early harassing moves that could instantly kill an enemy that doesnt scout, react or is prepare is some way, so even if your execution is bad you will still catch some wins and mmr by default Like a lot of the Is it imba or do i suck games in low leagues have players failing or barely defending against nonsensical atacks, just imagine what a planed one would do to them
As an avid coop enthusiast and a Plat/Dia MMR Player i feel like i want to join Harstem on one of these episodes just for the LULZ. Kevin, may i suggest to: Every Season pick up 1 or 2 Viewers for your Episodes, so we don't run out of professional Guests too soon.
This weeks Harstem vs world replay was actually mine. I would like to tell u about the ending. I (red) did not win. He floated his buildings and i didn't have enough minerals to get anti air. He also got a banshee out eventually and his liberator covered my only available base to mine. I look forward to seeing your guesses.
P1 - 0 G1 - 5 (How did y'all talk yourselves into masters for this game? XD) G1 - 2 (Arg, I'd been leaning G2 for this, but Harstem talked me up with the multiple army hotkeys XD) D2 - 0 (I got lucky that I forgot the NA bump XD) 7 total ლ(╹◡╹ლ)
I guessed along the way and got a 6! i offrace plat 1 and border diamond 3/2 toss, so i felt like I had a good feel for this range. Love these, cant wait to see the finals!!!
I liked Alex's insight at 21:24 about lesser player's trying to copy pro builds. It's so true that a lower league player playing a pro build will often end worse for them than if they just played a more basic build.
@@maxpayne2665 May be. He has a popular youtube channel. It is pretty much the only channel about starcraft you can get in Russian. So, I guess, this contributed a lot to making starcraft popular in former soviet countries. Though, for me English is not an issue and I prefer other channels like this one, or streams on twitch.
@@dmitry5319 As much as he contributed to Russian community as much he'll be hated there. He's not just arrogant, but hypocritic and promised, that his channel is out of politics, but now every vid and post has something about it. The only thing he needs to do, to lose his last bits of audience is to switch to Ukrainian language, but as I see, he found a new source of income. Sadly for him, his English sucks.
@@vadimvyat2146 idk, maybe don't invade another country? lol also your english isn't exactly stellar. perhaps you shouldn't shit on someone's fluency when yours isn't there either
Lost it at Alex's faith in NA masters in the early rounds lol. Good showing! NA PvZ - Plat 2, 2 points. The 6 lings, slow cybercore vs pool first, and not pulling back damaged voids in POV made me think it couldn't be Diamond even for NA. EU TvP - Plat 3, 4 points. Seemed a bit slow, and no response from the terran to oracles. I might be going too high but prism elevators and proxy oracles should get you out of Gold on EU, but not much higher maybe? EU ZvZ - Gold 3, 2 points. The 4000 float at 100 food, and not having the camera on enemy banes while on 1base on POV, and game taking 34 minutes couldn't possibly be above Gold, but the 13/12 didn't feel like Silver. NA TvZ - Diamond 1, 2 points. I wanted to go Masters, due to the queens being in position to address the banshees, but the minera floating felt a bit excessive even for NA and the banshee/hellion timing was late and had too few hellions. 10 points, tough games.
That first game.... looked exactly like a game I played... I honestly thought somehow it was my game for a second.. I am platinum on NA, guessed that very easily lol
That second game looked like metal league to me, the start with the response to the Oracle harrass was horrific so I expected to see alex007 guess like several leagues lower, but they're talking about masters now. :o
Diamond was there at launch of wings, might not have been Beta, but I was super happy when I got Diamond at the start of wings because at that time it was the highest league
Something, which is never considered: Worker Production. (High) GM-Terrans like Innovation has (build) 50 SCVs at the 6-minute-mark. If a Terran with solid Micro has only 32 at this time (benchmark) it ist a definite tell for the lower leagues ... except Hamster cut out the part where one Oracle killed 20 workers, which would be very mean and Hamster is a nice person.
In the first game when toss activated prismal alignment in a queen they should've put it below master instantly... I am a diamond player and a LOT OF TOSS thinks alignment increases damage overall for the Void. (when it actually only increases vs armored)
The Terran from game 2 (Revelation) seems to be the same guy from the IODIS episode: "He BURNT DOWN His House And Moved To The North Pole... ". For a second I even thought it's the same game (because the map was the same) but then I noticed that the start location of the terran and the protoss were different.
It was intresting to watch! Specifically for me, since I am Russian, and it is kinda interesting to see how our CIS guys are talking in other languages :P
Im the first game the toss was pretty fast, the probes scouring pattern was good, he pulled back his zealots while defending the twelve pool so the unit didn't die and he also kept up pressure with shades. So I felt like this was better than me (m3) bit I guess he was pretty quick I'm terms of micro but not the hottest at macro.
For whatever reason the contestants on this show tend to underestimate the likelihood of master players doing some awful control (same tendency last few episodes). First play: In the first round, in the last clip the protoss player stood inside spine crawler range with his Adepts. How can you think this is master, let alone even diamond. I personally thought it was gold-plat at that point. Round 2: Harstem pointed it out well. The stutter step was just off in the last clip - never happens in master league since it indicates a player who can't actually stutter step properly which is very basic at diamond 1 or above. Round 4: The entire unit control by the terran was just slow and rough. A masters 3 terran might take a little damage from zerglings to the reaper. But getting surround should and die should happen almost never at that level (would have to be a really really bad day). The hellion harass wasn't too great either. He missed 2 rounds on the drone-line where he instead auto-attacked zerglings. This indicates subpar mouse precision. While a master 3 player will occasionally misclick, it makes it more likely it's below that. Further, the managing of the cooldown on when to stop and attack was quite off as well. If I only had thad clip available and nothing else I would think diamond 2-3. The last battle was bad and uncoordinated as well. I thought even for diamond 1 this didn't look too good, and yet terran was easily winning indicating zergs macro was bad. Finally, the spending of the terran wasn't too hot either. On a very bad day a master 3 terran could have such high unspent ressurces. But he was only on the 66 workers (a master 3 terran should be at 70+ generally as well here). Overall the macro made me think this was diamond 2. There was absolutely nothing about any of the clips (beside terran build) that indicated masters or above in round 4. This was a very obvious mid-low diamond. I am not sure if they are too busy talking instead of actually watching the micro-execution, because many of these have very obvious tells.
My guesses: Plat 1, Diamond 3, Plat 3, Diamond 2. I’ve never done this well with an overall score of 3. Probably helped that I am Diamond 3 - Diamond 2 so these were kind of right in my range.
Lol Watching these is hilarious. I'm a masters 3 player, and I feel like you guys would say I'm m2 or m1. Diamond bracket is decent these days! So I usually think low Diamond when Alex says masters
Probably a stupid question, but where do the tiebreak numbers come from? So like with Serral and Heromarine both having 13 points, where did the 5 and 7 come from?
Hate to be that guy. But American server, is Americas, not NA. South, Central, and North America share servers. You have BR server, that's on America, and everyone in NA plays on that server from time to time.
Idk man, my zerg is currently at 3800 EU, I played 2 days on NA and I'm sitting at 3700 in the end. I'm not feeling much of a difference skill wise. Yes, NA has more weird builds and there are also ping differences (50 Ms vs 150 Ms), but it is not that significant.
12 points today. 3 points on every guess. Exactly 2 off on every guess. I beat Alex, lost to Harstem. . . . Round 1: D2 (3 Points) - Wall was good, battery was built during the fight instead of before. 1-base Swarmhost Nydus has been used at all levels on the ladder recently. Protoss also constantly had around 200+ APM. This feels like anywhere from high plat to low master, so I went in the middle. Round 2: D1 (3 Points) - I feel like this is Diamond. I don’t think it’s D2. I think it’s either D3 or D1. I don’t have much justification for it, just a gut feeling. I’m leaning D3, but Harstem and Alex are talking me into it being a higher-level game. I should have ignored them. Round 3: P3 (3 Points) - I’m with Alex on this; gold/platinum vibes. I’m leaning more platinum due to the different control groups for the ground army and the corruptors. But not too high in platinum, because of the initial attack and how successful it was. Round 4: P1 (3 Points) - I’m going to disagree with Harstem (and see how it pans out). They liked the speed at the opening, but that’s just one skill. Losing the reaper, the banshee play, the lack of multitasking, and the end battle micro…there was something in just about every clip that they didn’t like. I see this as anywhere from high gold to diamond. Next Week’s Guess: This player’s name would be the code word to start the action if there were a Starcraft movie called Banshee Down.
first guess is gold league , so i was closest 2nd diamond just above previous rank , oh i just understood the ranking system with the numbers now , so yeah i would say diamond 3 and for the first guess platnium3 , EXACTLY RIGHT on the second guess , these content creator and analyst noobs don't even play the game XD 3rd gold 2 , EXACTLY RIGHT AGAIN , FUCK I KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS GAME LOL 4th diamond 1 with inclination it's diamond 2 , BINGOOOOO
Hey Harstem! Feels like it's been too many Rank Roulette episodes lately... I would actually love you to make more Road to Rank one's if possible :))) I'm sure that's what you probably want as well :)
Everyone enjoys something else. My favorite is cheesiest man alive, then rank roulette, then beating gradmasters with stupid stuff. Road to rank one is... to serious. Kinda repetitive, boring I would say :)
