• Queen - My Fairy King ...
Okay this time we go with one song from Queen I, I decided that I wanted to hear Queen II entirely so maybe I can do a Live stream to do it, My Fairy King is such a cool song! I loved all the layers of the voices and the guitars and the use of delay

Yes, Freddie is singing lead vocals & yes, Roger did the high voice! This is the song which may have inspired Freddie to change his name from Bulsara to Mercury. The lyrics contain a verse with the words “Mother Mercury, look what they’ve done to me.” Brian May commented that after the line was written , Freddie claimed he was singing about his mother. Freddie was also inspired by Robert Browning’s poem “The Pied Piper”. I love this song it’s so beautiful in many ways! 🤗 The outro is gorgeous! Loved your analysis!!🎉🎉

Brain May (guitarist) with his father built his guitar, named Red Special. After Freddie Mercury died, Brain May's friends encouraged him to complete his education, he did. Brain completed his doctorate thesis in Astrophysics and today he is active in the field with a number of papers on zodiacal dust which were confirmed by a NASA satellite

Thank you for this reaction. Great song. That was Freddie singing. He has an amazing range. Roger's voice could go very high but it was quite raspy.

Thank you SO much for this reaction! I think there is a huge difference between 70th and 80th Queen music. But you hit right for 2 of my favorite 70-Queen songs. When I first heard the Queen / QueenII albums I said, "What?" But the more I listened, the more addicted I got. Alsways something new to discover in the songs (I tink this is what you call "layer" but as a non-musician Teen it was just "so much mire" ;) ... to be true: I accuse them of bringing me to music like Arther Brown or The Doors while opening my mind to try more styles of music than "just" rock ... And I like the way you help me understand what you're doing and that it's not just the "fan" who thinks this is a really nice piece of work.

Fantastic reaction! The first Queen album also have some songs that connect with each other. My Fairy King is the second song, the first song is The Great King Rat. It was Freddie's songs that were connected with each other. Queen's debut album is amazing and very underrated because they were not big at the time. There is a great live version of The Great King Rat that is better then the studio version, The Great King Rat live at the Rainbow 1974 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nNDOazfRg08.html. Brain May has never really used pedals, the only pedal he uses is a wah pedal. All of the sounds and effects were done with voices and guitar, most of the time. Of course Queen also did not use synths in the 70's. Brian made his own tape delay, it was not a very usual effect in those days. Great mention on Highway Star, that was released in 1972, and Queen's debut album in 1973. But in fairness to Queen the songs were recorded far ahead of the release, they had to wait over a year, simply for the studio to release their album, and the songs were mostly written far in advance. It was a struggle for Queen to get signed and to release their first album. Were you looking for the word, arpeggio? Roger did the falsetto parts the rest was all Freddie, his voice was not strong yet on Queen's fist album. Full album reviews would be great!

Freddie does lead vocals in falsetto as well as his normal voice He also does backing/harmonies with Roger and Brian Roger does the high notes Freddies song on their first album 74 I dont think Roger did any songs in full falsetto

En Queen II tienes los siguientes medleys: Procession - Father To Son - White Queen; Ogre Battle - The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke - Nevermore; y The March Of The Black Queen - Funny How Love Is. En su tercer álbum, Sheer Heart Attack, están: Tenement Funster (cantada por Roger Taylor) - Flick Of The Wrist - Lily Of The Valley; e In The Lap Of The Gods - Stone Cold Crazy. Y en A Night At The Opera está The Prophet's Song - Love Of My Life. Luego te puedo recomendar que tu próxima escucha sea "Good Company", de A Night At The Opera, justamente.

I don't know how familiair you are with the discography of the band Muse (I think it's always a little bit "risky" to request songs from really famous bands). If you don't know the song already I would like to recommend: 'Muse - United States of Eurasia (+ Collateral Damage)' or 'Muse - Blackout (Live from Wembley Stadium)' (that last one is still one of my favorite live performances of them ever) Muse is a band with quite a few similarities to Queen in some of their songs, that's why I thought of them immediately during this song.
