I was trying to do my own way in last year summer unsuccessful. That is not and easy task make a piano finish on MDF. Would be great this video comes with explanation , just a little of tutorial. Anyway they do Nice job ...

technical question: why more passes/layers on the sides of the doors than in the center? Is that because of the manual use it will get with human contact?

With due respect, you need to start painting from the painters side towards the spray booth. If sprayed the way it is done in the video the paint overspray by the suction effect of the spray booth will come over to the area that has just been spray painted

If he started spraying from his side, overspray would be going onto a dry surface. He did it the correct way because once the panel has wet paint on it, any overspray will gel in with the wet paint rather than go straight onto a dry panel

If you have many products need to paint, you could consider using Automatic spray painting machine, high efficiency and save labor cost greatly.

Curious about the stand he is using to put and turn the MDF on. When I'm spraying 200 or so beads it becomes a ball ache to lift and turn the board I use for spraying. Anyone have any ideas on the name and price range of the table he is using?

+Denis M better Idea is to make one, I made one using a old office revolving chair that spins around and cut the wheel below it so it cant move and then removed the chair and screwed a big playwood on the part that makes the chair spin best thing is it can be height adjusted as well
