It seems like every car I build ends up needing a custom length drive shaft. Whether its because of a drive line swap, rear end change or lifting a truck, custom drive shaft lengths is a part of every hot rodders life.
I have been using my buddy Ryan at Domar Transmission for years now and he never steers me wrong!

A bunch of you guys have been using his services and I thought it would be cool to show exactly how a drive shaft is made. It is a fairly simple process but proper tooling and care are required. Ryan can have a drive shaft built and balanced in about an hour.
Check him out and mention DD Speed Shop!

Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe was such a cool show. The welders at my work sometimes have to weld new floors into the bodies of old garbage trucks. When that garbage juice starts cooking from the welding it reeks sooo bad!!! I don't know how they do it. Interesting video and good idea making videos to support your suppliers.

G'DAY Dan,an excellent VLOG,as a fitter/ Turner and machinist by trade,it was excellent to see a Lathe,Steadies, dial indicators again, was especially informative as even though I've had many driveshafts manufactured over the last 40 years,by predominantly Universal Driveshafts Suppliers in Brisbane, which have always been supplied in similar manner to Ryan, painted black, with greased new Universal's,I've never been allowed to go backstage to view the final balancing, where they have informed me,that even the placement of their company sticker is critical to perfect VB balancing, now I know what the secret tradesman secrets entails,I agree with you regarding the interesting part of doing any mechanical tasks is after one or two days, loathe to become boring, more similar Vlogs are certainly welcome Dan,as always, Kindest Regards, Dave McLaughlin Queensland Australia
