Fantastic cover of The Pixies 'Where Is My Mind?' by Professor Green, which was performed during his Biz Session for The Sun. Download MP3 here: thehouseofcoxhead.com Alive Till I'm Dead, out now: itunes.apple.com/gb/album/aliv...
This shit was good. Can’t believe I’ve listened for a decade and never heard this. People in the comments can fuck off. The hate for Pro is paper thin jealousy. We see through you.
This song is truly motivational, it speaks the truth of a person who had dealt with some issues. Sometimes the lyrics tell more than a persons story and PG did this. One of of my favorite artist
Regardless of his take and flow on this song you can see he relates to the lyrics on a level, pro has famously spoken out about mental health issues and this is another tribute to his cause. He hasn't ruined the song, just put a twist on it, and for the record it gave me chills, top notch.
It's different to the Pixies classic, yes. It's okay that many people think that rap music has gone due to what many so called "artists" did to it within the last decade. I, personally, cried because I find this very beautiful and drunk with pain at the same time especially in the way the chorus is presented here. Lotsa respect, Pixies and Prof. Green
I have seen both the pixies and ProGreen live playing both of these songs, the original is by far greater, but he must be praised for his ability to translate what he thinks the song means
Anyone noticed how all good artists seem to like and in some cases are inspired by the pixies, yet I know very few people who like or in most cases have even heard of pixies, not particularly bothered just something I've been thinking about, and when I heard this I decided its true. this is also a great cover
this isn't as bad as everyone else is making it out to be. it's pretty chilled and pro is talented and manages to spit bars over a beat which definitely isnt written for bars
Haha you tried... but this BEAT doesn't have to be 'designed to rap over'. Rapping is a skill and nobody can call himself a rapper if he can't rap over any beat. Plus this groove is superduper slow, and he's clearly layback as hell spittin' this. But I applaud your attempt to back him up.
Always listen to this walked out my house the other day on mushrooms and met pro green haha told him he's a legend bopped on down the road found a guy in a wheelchair with one leg trying to get to the pub .....say no more fam..
Professor green is a very popular musician in the UK.he's dad died to suicide when he was only a boy.he expresses the way he feel throw the lyrics he sings. I wish people would understand what he has been throw before they judge...watch he's movie on bbc three
the question i currently find myself asking myself is im pretty sure i recognise these lyrics from his new album think it's spinning out but may be wrong.
That's the thing he's not trying to dethrone anybody the guy clearly has a lot of respect for the song, he is probably like everyone trying to diss him for "ruining" the song or "trying to steal the song" he's a fan of the song that much of a fan that he's used his talents to take the song and rap how he feels about life to it , and I think that's pretty cool Btw this is coming from someone who listens to all of the pixies songs daily and has heard just about every version of where is my mind and isn't the biggest fan of rap
People like Camille here actually hurt me, just because people cover a track does not mean they want to better it. It’s simply people that love a song so much they’d like to put their own spin on it
omg are you being serious saying this is terrible? his flow is fantastic, his different take on a legendary song is genius, his lyrics are heartfelt and this has been developed into one of the best songs on his new album.. 'spinning out'. i'm going to be brave and say this is better than the original, well spinning out anyway!
@brownlee01 It's a great cover. Professor Green did good, backingsingers were awesome and it has a nice flow. But saying it is better than the original. That's insane. :)
This cover is SLICK. I am a fan of both THE PIXIES and PR. GREEN. And I am quite sure the pixies are stoked that this guy chose to do something so different with there song. And I as well. getchya self outa the boxes you're livin' in, y'all..
@cawthy07 well said 2 totally different sounds/styles they do have 1 thing in common though they've both went commercial still good choons from them both though
Good job I like your take on this , video is very well shot, I thought the end dropped off.. but small point.. maybe a drum crash after you stop just an idea
