It was quite a shitty defence presented by Commissioner Haydon in relation to the allegations of apprehended bias against him by the unions in Australia. References were made to the nature of secretarial work around him. Printing and handing out documents to him, etc. It is not fair to burden secretarial/administrative staff with the task to ascertain that any actions of the Commissioner do not induce a sense of distrust in the public towards the workings of the Royal Commission. When someone fires a missile at you, you don't swap your position with your personal assistant!
