Interesting presentation, it's all very true. I understand this well after a serious MVA landed me in a wheelchair then I was given contraindicated medications which landed me in ICU for 10 days and long lasting serotonin toxicity syndrome. Harnessing the power of your brain, getting a good team around you to help you understand these pain cycles is the way out of most of your pain. Movement is king. Thanks for getting this out there, really fascinating stuff.

Wish we had access to this knowledge in New Zealand. My GP did a referral to the pain management service who declined me. I also asked for a referral to a neurologist but GP said they won't be any help for my chronic pain. . New Zealand medical systems are not interested in advancing their knowledge they only want to provide pills for people and they don't support patients who want alternative treatments and this is how our medical systems continue to operate today in 2023.

Please check mind body therapy ( TMS, pain reprocessing therapy) It is the most successful way to recover from chronic pain! It really does work! Good luck 💪

When movement is discussed, what about pain that isn't in the body or muscles? What about severe pain inside the head and behind eyes, or migraine pain?

It works the same way. Also good for IBS, TMJ, Dermatological conditions. Great talk but I was disappointed that he didn’t suggest more specific ways of healing. Journaling, expressing feelings, etc. Have proven to be very effective in CURING chronic pain. Please see PPDASSOCIATION or TMSWIKI.org for more information on learning how to cure your chronic symptoms, whether pain or others such as rashes, gastrointentional ailments that can’t be identified. This worked for me as I had multiple symptoms and was able to cure myself using this method. See Dr. John Sarno, Dr. Howard Schubiner, Dr. David Clarke. Google “Thank you, Dr. Sarno” and see testimonials from people who have been cured for their chronic symptoms. My story is in March of 2012. Look it up. I was so amazed at my recovery that I spent 10 years going to school to learn how to help others with this. So I am both a patient and a practitioner. I’ve been there and I have helped many others to achieve a life of freedom from pain. Good luck to all those still suffering. Please check out these websites. Doesn’t cost you anything except maybe a pain free life.

I’ve seen a specialist who only treated migraines, cluster headaches etc. It’s a complex issue like any other with the body. Our mind/brain is part of our body as one thru the CNS (google it) and microbiome. Severe headaches can be related to immune rxns, hormones, stress and or emotional trauma. Prob others science hasn’t discovered yet.

A lot of us physios are leading this movement here in the US. Just call around to your locate PT clinics and ask and see what comes of it! We will have a lot more practical videos on this topic coming out soon if that peaks your interest as well. It’s a hard journey but a worthwhile one! Your body is way more powerful then it’s given credit for!

Check out the TMSwiki.org for doctors and therapists who treat this and a lot of information on how to cure. There is also a forum where you can talk to others. Also, PPDASSOCIATION for a listing of practitioners. Read “Healing Back Pain; The Mind Body Connection”, “The Mind Body Prescription,” “Unlearn your Pain.” These are all books with great information about the true cause of most pain syndromes and also how to heal and be pain free. I’ve been there and know that it works.

This is ALL about the likes of ACC who use these models etc to get folk off their books...
