Even better is she didn't understand the criticism. As if you wouldn't read the textbook for a class. No, dumbass, the post was the textbook makes her irrelevant since she doesn't do her job.
You would think the film/media arts students who made this would have the awareness to know how bad adding a soundtrack made this but they didn’t and I can’t help but think of how this reflects on our film/media arts program.
Or just faked accounts to pad numbers. Or, pandered to get positive reviews. The best way to read reviews is to find the negative reviews and look for positive things and look at positive reviews and look for negative aspects.
Funny comments I read online( not necessary from the site): 1. You have to read the book 2. The answers are online 3. Easy , lots of extra credit 4. The professor expects you to study for exams
I'm a professor. It is not unusual to have some students thrilled at how easy the tests are if you show up every day and pay attention, while others grouse about how hard everything is. One thing to bear in mind is that the professors are primarily rated on how easy the courses are. This website's allure is not to help you find the most challenging professor who will push you to your limits... but the opposite, so the students commenting are not representative of all students. Most will post only if they really liked it, or really didn't.
There is a divide between students who believe that they should be coddled, spoonfed, and entertained vs. those who understand that they actually need to do the assigned readings, show up, take notes, ask questions, and review the material. I can learn from a boring, but clear, professor every bit as easily as I can learn from one that keeps me laughing and/or entertained.
I agree that laziness should not be promoted... but note that I learned more about human anatomy from one episode of CrashCourse than from an entire intro anatomy college course.
Well, if you watched the episode after the college course, then it probably simply clearly tied together everything that you'd already been exposed to -- that's different than watching it in lieu of taking a semester course. I had a student ace a senior level course (really, really difficult), the same semester she took and got a "C" in an easy intro course. She took the hard one very seriously, for fear of failing it, but assumed that she could skate through the easy one... and just skated a bit too much.
I mean, duh? I wouldn't even say it's about anyone wanting to be "coddled". I'd say that college is extremely overpriced, students are working and burned out, and damn right if they can get an easy A for a course they don't really need anyway to do their chosen career one day, you bet they'll take it. So many fluff bullshit courses at exorbitant prices that are required for no good reason, it's no mystery why most students who have to actually pay for their education want easy professors.
My university pays the profs with the money that the university makes besides teaching. My university makes 50 millions a year, I doubt that this isn't enough for a few teachers. ;)
@@obsidium its funny how people can be full of themselves with comments like that. Obviously if one person drops it won't affect you but if thousands of students start dropping classes because of subpar professors than there is likely going to be consequences.
I would Trigger Dr. Merck in 5 minutes if I was unfortunately in her class. She’d be running for the nearest Safe Space. She exemplifies the ruination of American Universities.
People kill me, this is why I don’t fully trust these scores. It’s hilarious how ridiculous people are. It’s so individual, are you lazy or hardworking? Focused or easily distracted? A self starter or need hella help?
I love the comments that are just outright lies. Students who are cowards feel free to say any nasty thing that comes into their heads. Most of them wouldn't dare say the same thing to the person's face.
