PROFILE CASSETTE HUB VS ROS LOUD FREEWHEEL SE BIKES BIG RIPPER MONSTERQUAD 

I have both a Big Ripper and a Monster Quad and one of the first things I did with the Ripper was swap out the freewheel to an Origin8 Hornet as that was the only one I could find at the time. That sucker is loud and compares to the ROS freewheel. Both to me sound about the same. I definitely want to upgrade the Monster but damn, you are correct....those Profile hubs are big bucks!

I've been eyeing profile's freewheel nomad hub. Way cheaper than their cassette hubs but with that profile name quality. Paired with a profile freewheel that set up would be just under $300. Love those twisted spokes by the way those are dope.

i have the dogtown big ripper and the hub on that is still quite loud compared to a specialized or trek mtb around the same $600 price.

I recently got a 2021 SE Big Flyer. I am trying to add SE wheelie pegs and a SE chain tensioner like you have. Problem is.....axle is not long enough to accommodate both. About half the nut is actually threading on. Did you install an aftermarket longer axle to achieve this goal? I know it can be done, just do not know the correct way. I don't want to bust my ass due to maybe three threads catching. Thank you in advance if you respond. #RAISEUP

The engagement on a profile cassette versus a freewheel is night and day. A freewheel versus any cassette hub really. If you like a bunch of slack in your engagement after coasting then by all mean, get a freewheel hub. I guess for just doing wheelies it doesn’t really matter. Most department store bikes come with a freewheel set up.
