The ProForm Pro 9000 is the top treadmill in ProForm’s line up. We really like the large 22” touch screen on this treadmill. It’s iFit enabled and your experience with iFit is that much more interactive when using this screen. iFit offers thousands of classes on and off the treadmill for both your body and mind. The classes are filmed indoors and outdoors in areas all over the world.
iFit also has live and on-demand classes and they add to their extensive library regularly. iFit comes free for the first 30 days, so you can try it out before you subscribe. If you don’t want to subscribe to iFit you can still use the preprogrammed workouts and manual mode in the free version of iFit. We highly recommend subscribing to iFit on the Pro 9000 to get full functionality out of the screen and treadmill though.
The 3.6 CHP motor and 60” running surface make the Pro 9000 suitable for running and heavier use. Any sized user should be comfortable to perform any exercise on this length of belt. The deck is 20” wide and while none of our reviewers had an issue with it, some users might want a bit more room. The motor is quiet and adjusts the speed and grade consistently and smoothly.
The Rebound Pro cushioning definitely reduces the impact on your joints when running as opposed to running outside on concrete. It feels nice underfoot and I didn’t have any discomfort even after running a race on it. The height from the floor up to the top of the deck when it’s at a 0% grade is 10”. The Pro 9000 should be suitable for ceilings of all heights, just be aware that you’ll have less overhead room when it is inclined.
The ProForm Pro 9000 goes up to 12 mph and up to a 12% incline. I really like that it also has a -3% decline to add more variability to your training. All of these max levels should be plenty for most users to get in great workouts with.
The console is streamlined to keep most of the treadmill’s functionality within the touch screen. There are quick touch buttons that we like that let you jump around between different grades and speeds. They can take a moment to get used to it though because they are in two rows on top of each other. The top row is for the grade % and the bottom is for mph. When I first hopped on the treadmill I hit 3% incline when I meant to hit 3 mph.
When running, we did experience some shaking of the console and screen. It wasn’t distracting, but we think an added steel crossbar in between the uprights would help with this issue. The weight capacity is also 300 lbs so this treadmill is a little limiting to some users.
Overall, the ProForm Pro 9000 is really easy and comfortable to use. You’ll definitely get the most out of it with an iFit subscription because the experience is impressive on the large 22” touchscreen. Most users will enjoy the Pro 9000 and if you’re looking for a treadmill that folds up easily, this one’s a great pick.
