A tutorial on how to program Behringers FCB1010 to be used by Fractal Audio's Axe FX without the dreaded option of changing microchips around or downloading programming software. This helps overcome the biggest problem with the pairing of these devices which is allowing the pedal to not only cycle presets but also interact with effects in those presets including activating loops and tap tempos. The AXE FX actually had a MIDI learn function so all you needed to do was press enter on the function you want it to control and then press the foot controller you wanted.

Couldnt you just go into the midi settings, and find the looper and assign the 1 switch to the looper? Thats how I assigned my expression pedals to my volume and wah. Or does that only work with the expression pedals?

Is there a way to call a preset instead of using the stomp box mode? Like, I want to call the preset 123 by pressing the pedal 4, and do the same for other presets. All videos and Tuts I found don't talk about this way to set the FCB + Fractal. The mistery for me still how to see the CC of a preset. This way I'd be able to call this preset. Am I right? Thanks once again!

Barney sorry it took so long but i rarely check here as i posted in the description.. haven't used it with a standard, but its important to remember only plug the MIDI out from the pedal into the Axe in not from the Axe out to the Pedal in. Our FCB was immediately plug and play, no pc connection required or driver installation... Good Luck

Hi Guys! Thanks for making this video. Had to watch it a few times with lots of stopping and starting. This saved me hours of time to figure out Axe I/O details and programming the FCB. Thank you very much!! One question, do you use assignment of continuous controller values for all stomp box type programming?

do yourself a favor and order the Eureka PRom from Eurekasound. It's $40 but money well spent. I use my FCB with Native Instruments Guitar Rig in the Programmable mode that comes with the Eureka Chip, its awesome. Easy Install, well worth your investment.

Hi, I tried the tap option with my axe-fx ultra, and it had a completely different outcome; my fcb 1010 is not functioning as it used to. It's not even changing the banks as I try to switch to different banks. How can I undo this ?

hi. have watched this about 20 times but i must be guing wrong somewhere as I am getting program changes and control changes mixed up. Can you clarify how you determine when something will be a CC rather than a PC. How come you go from button 1 to 6, am getting very confused herd, but yours is the only info I can find that gets me anywhere close. thanks

hi i pretty much have the same problem as barney. i connected the FCB with the axe fx. but how do I assign a specific patch (for example my rythm patch) to button 1 on the FCB? i'd very much appreciate help because i have a gig in 2 days and at least i need to be able to switch between my rythm patch and my clean patch.

Do you need a chip to change scenes with the fcb? Or can that be programmed without it?

I figured it out, follow this method, if you change the first number to 34, that is the CC# for the scenes, the second number after you hit the up button is going to be scene selection. (00=Scene 1, 01=Scene 2, etc.) now what I'm wondering is how to just get a preset up one and down selection. like, press up and it goes up a preset, or up by 10. if I figure it out, i'll comment my findings here.

Very nice. Do you think you can actually programme stomp box like effects (punching effects in and out) like this as well? It looks like you just did precisely that in the video. But, in my case it would be for the TC Electronic G Major. Thanks!

Ben van Geest Yes Ben you should be able to use the same process to program stomp box effects for anything really, just assign the 'bypass' for the effect you want to control too your switch and it's all the same.
