Finally someone who can explain this outdated mechanical concoction in straightforward simple terms. And, finally, I get to set my pool filter on auto mode before vacation. All you (How To) male youtubers learn from this remarkable lady.

Crystal clear! My question is, Can I use this all the time? I mean months and months without touching the thing again and just keep on working? Thanks a bunch for this video!
I have one and I used it to manage the lights in my betta tank and snake vivarium. It worked for a while, but once a power outage came and everything was turned back on, it stopped working. That happened a few months ago, but I’m gonna try it again and make sure it’s actually dead before I get a new one.
Lift ALL buttons ... Push buttons DOWN for ON ... Lifted buttons are OFF ... 1/2 hour intervals ...Set to the current time ... AM is white / PM is black ... PLUG in immediately!
I bought mine at Lowe's. The instructions are easy. Fine. But the "current time" is supposed to be aligned with an arrow. MINE HAS NO ARROW to align with! Is the arrow supposed to be at the center of the "top", where the outlet/timer slide switch is?
um.... so quick think you said to pull up on all the pins inti'll the time you want it to turn off but then you said that the instrucksons are on the back (yes I know that I spelt that wrong sorry) but as you see on the back it says to PUSH DOWN I will typ it again DOWN on the pins to set the time the light
Wow this helped me so much I am using mines to plug my phone in every night then letting it start to charge at 6 am and letting it stop at 8 am so my battery wont be damaged, thankyou so much I could not do it without this video!!!
Ok. so if I want to turn on from evening 5pm until morning 9 am, what pins need to go down? Since this seems bit confusing as the clock shifts to AM at midnight.
Hi :) Did you ever figure this out? I'm dying over here. I'm thinking the same as you. The moon (or dark side of dial) makes you think PM hours, but there is also AM hours on that side and vice versa on the white side of the dial. I want my outdoor lights to go on at 7PM and turn off at 6AM.
@@emilystumpf8006 you press from 7pm pins which are dark all the way to 6am white. So 7pm, 8pm,.. 11pm,.. even if it say 12 pm press that, then 1am white to 6 am.
Just bought a two outlet for my owl finches heat lamp, i tought i could have one lamp turn on than another off guess not it only works both outlets simultaneous.
Just bought one. Worked for a while until the “Current Time” stopped keeping track of the time so it would turn on and off at all the wrong times. So frustrating having to get under my desk to reset the time correctly. Might have to switch to Digital.
Neon Kue Same here. Got one at Lowe’s that started losing about 20 minutes a day after a week. Exchanged it for another and that one lasted about 6 weeks before not being able to keep time. I reset the time to 7:00pm last night and it was 6 hours off in the morning.
Craig Coss Yep, I’ve come to the conclusion that these analog timers are unreliable. Gonna return this one since I switched over to the digital version and everything works perfectly now.
Wait, have I got that right, push down for off, push up for on. I'm a bit confused. Wait, pushing down would be on not off, right? This is so complicated. Anyone out there know how this thing works?
You want your lights to turn ON press down on that time, now for the duration you push down on all the pins up to the time you want the lights to turn off. It's not very complicated. On 7am - off 12 noon, press down on all pins between 7 am and 12 noon.
I read this comment, continued trying to force the pins down with scissors and other misc. kitchen items. Then i realized my pins were also down already lol
DO NOT!!! I REPEAT >>> DO NOT attempt to follow these instructions after taking medical grade cannabis. You are better off ordering an Alexa plug and just telling her when you want the timer to work.. It can't be just me that found this task daunting....
Im looking at a couple hardware stores here in Canada, as well as online.. Cant seem to find any good reviews on quality of product... do you have a suggestion of where to look perhaps?
@@TheUnknownKitsune Century makes a great timer. They have both the push pin and a digital dual outlet timer. Urban Farmer has another great timer as well. I know a lot of pot growers use them, so they can stand up to loads of 5 amps and won't burn out as fast.
