Just worked like a charm on my "newly" purchased 2009 Impala LTZ, with a new remote I ordered. Thanks to earlier comments by others, about the other remotes no longer working after the programing, and your replies, I knew to reprogram my original remote during the same programing session. Thanks!
❤AWESOME! THANK YOU; I also your comment on doing this for more than 1 keyless entry, so now I have 2 keyless entries for my car and will get much more for my instant cash offer! I really appreciate this!😊
Just wanted to thank you for making this video, all the information I was seeking without the b.s. , it's times like these that make me thrilled that Al Gore created the internet
Excellent video worked like a charm. I think I'm a magician now. Lol. Only thing, with learning new key fob it forgets previous fob. I thought I would have two.
While the vehicle is in programming mode you can program multiple remotes. You just have to do them during that same programming session. So do the first one then before exiting programming mode or cycling the key do the next one.
Thank you! So if alarm started but sill not locking? I programmed and it's locking and unlocking but car door still locking. Also can you programmed the one you had already? It was working then just stopped, so I'm speaking on 2 of them. Hope I explained it enough for you to understand lol.
How many times did you have to press car info to get the programming active my dashboard cluster doesn’t work but I can still use the buttons that being said I cannot see the screen I’m trying to program my remote
Will this work the remote start in the same task, or at all? If not, how does that program, since this function was on your remote device but wasn't illustrated in terms of it working after the programming.
This was very easy. Thanks for the tip. How do I program both remotes for our Chevy truck? I program mine and my husbands won't work. He programs his and mine won't work. Please advise. Thank you!
Patricia larsen to program multiple remotes you need to do follow the instructions to program the first one then before you turn the key off hold the unlock and lock buttons on the second one and you can then do a third one if you want. After you have done both then turn off the key and both should work.
After you hold down the two buttons on the first remote, then do the same with the 2nd remote right after. I had the same ? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Aeiv3cHNh4U.html
As I commented earlier, they did program easily, but the only one that "stuck" was the last one programmed, and the prior 2 didn't work. Any ideas welcome!! Thank you!
Please advise on our 2013 Chevy Tahoe Z71 key fob programming. When we scroll on the info key there is not an option to reprogram. Are some models strictly programmable only by a locksmith or dealer? And how do we determine that?
You can get a tool from Dorman that plugs into the obd2 port and will put the vehicle in programming mode. It runs about $60 online and comes with an extra remote. This will save that trip to the dealer or locksmith.
Okay this is great but how do you program multiple fobs as my Denali came with two of them originally and so i bought a 2-pk to replace them so both ny wife and i can have one but it will only allow me to program one fob and when i try to program the 2nd it deletes the 1st one as if it will only allow one at a time?
Hi. I have a 2013 GMC YUKON YUKON XL SLT. When scrolling, my display does not give an option to program a remote. Is there another method to programming the remotes ?
So my shifter wont go into park rn and i have to replace it in order to turn on car while its in park but if i go to N it will start . In order to reprogram the key fob does the car have to be in park.
This only works on up to 2010 model any newer truck and you have to have a OBD2 reader with the capability of programming key fobs so no cheap Walmart special code reader ya need one of the expensive ones so your better served to pay the dealer the $57 service rate for this. Not really sure why 2011 models to 2014 and 2015 for 3/4-1 ton though they are the same truck far as body style goes the option of programming a new fob or relearning fob isn’t in the DiC anymore.
85gbod there is a tool from Dorman that plugs into the obd2 port that comes with an extra remote. It will put the newer vehicles in programming mode and allow you to program as many remotes as you have. The price is usually around $60.
GM removed the option in some of the later years. There is a tool that Dorman sells that plugs into your obd2 port that will put yours in programming mode. It comes with an extra remote.
Please note that this feature is not available on certain GM models, like my wife's 2011 Traverse. About a year ago, I bought a couple of blank fobs and a "fastlink" OBD programmer on e-bay. I had the new and 1 old working fob programmed in less than 5 minutes. It worked great! It was way less expensive than going to a dealer or locksmith. Also, this was better than the Dorman one because that one was both more expensive and only limits to so many "tokens". Mine is unlimited

my 2013 Silverado only has the black button above the battery gauge. but when I press that to cycle through there is no menu to relearn a remote. any ideas on how I program a key fob for this truck?
@@YourCarGuyDR Thank you sir! I actually ordered the $40 version because I have to believe that my truck (basic package) did not have the remote starter on it. So as long as I can open the doors I will be good to. My neighbor (and I) are sick of the truck horn honking every time I unlock the truck. That is the absolute stupidest design I have ever seen, ever. Just plain stupid. I have a key, yet it honks when I unlock it and open it. Thanks again for the reply.
@@GreyMann2 there may be another issue causing the remote start not to work. There are some safety parameters that the computer has to see in order for the remote start to work.
GM removed the option on some of the later vehicles. You can get a tool from Dorman that plugs into the obd2 port and will put it in programming mode. It runs about $60 online and comes with an extra remote.
Does anyone know what kind of troubleshooting would be available for a situation where the display cannot go into the active learning mode and instead stays on the screen with the check mark?
You can get a tool from Dorman that plugs into the obd2 port and puts the vehicle into programming mode. It runs about $60 and comes with an extra remote.

That does work.. Any idea on how to activate/program the remote start option on a 2013 Tahoe PPV. I got the remotes to open and close the doors, like in this video. Apparently I need a dealer level computer to turn on the remote start option?
so what do you do if your cycling process does not feature the press to relearn remote key I have cycled all the way through it and is not there i have a 2012 Yukon xl this should have worked
GM removed the option at some point. You can get a tool from Dorman that plugs in the obd2 port and will put it in programming mode. It runs about $60 online and comes with an extra remote.

If you have the program option on your dash. If not you can buy a tool from Dorman that will put it in programming mode. It plugs into the obd2 port and comes with an extra remote. Usually $60 online.
Did everything, heard the beep. But my dash is saying “remote key learning active” even after the beep an it won’t go away. So I turn truck off an it goes right back to saying “relearn remote key”
As long as you see the programming option when you scroll through the option list. If not you can buy a tool made by Dorman that will plug into your obd2 port and put the vehicle in programming mode. They run about $60 online and come with an extra remote.
eL cHuRRoS Ontiveros if you don’t have that option then you can get a tool from Dorman that will plug in to your obd2 port that will put it in programming mode. It comes with an extra remote and runs about $60.
Denise Watkins not sure but if it won’t you can get a tool from Dorman that comes with a new remote that will let you do it. Usually runs about $60 online.
@@YourCarGuyDR well I just double checked with the company and they said it has to be the fucking dealership. Excuse my French, just don’t like dealing with this dick heads. They charge an arm and a leg for something so simple. As it doesn’t even give me option on the feature dash
Unfortunately the 2011 and newer trucks don’t have this option. Ya can buy a special obd2 reader that has this option or just go to dealer pay the $57 service fee and call it a day.

@@waynedf I've been doing alot of looking and I came to,either a locksmith like you say or maby the chevy dealer may be able to program it...I was kinda bummed when It wouldn't like in the video

What year is yours? In the 2011 and newer GM removed the option. You can get a tool from Dorman that will put it in programming mode. It runs about $60 and comes with an extra remote.
Ismael Trejo if it doesn’t have the reprogramming switch there is a process to follow. CLOSE all doors. INSERT key into the ignition. PRESS and HOLD the power UNLOCK button on driver’s side door panel. DO NOT release until instructed to do so in Step 5. Quickly TURN the Ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF. (ON is the position just shy of starting your vehicle, OFF is the position where you can remove your key) RELEASE the power UNLOCK button on the Driver’s side door panel. The vehicle should respond by locking and unlocking automatically. (A) If locks cycle then CONTINUE to Step 6. (B) If the door locks begin to LOCK and UNLOCK BEFORE releasing the unlock button then the vehicle has not entered Programming Mode and you must START OVER. REMOVE key, OPEN door and RETURN to Step 1. (C) If the vehicle continues to LOCK and UNLOCK before releasing the UNLOCK button then there is a problem with the vehicle’s system and remotes must be programmed by a certified professional. If you are unable to get the door locks to cycle then you are turning the key too quick, too slow, there’s a problem with the vehicle’s system, or the vehicle is not equipped with a factory keyless entry system. HOLD the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote at the same time until door locks cycle again. This could take up to 30 seconds. Now REPEAT Step 6 for all additional remotes to be programmed, including working ones. After Step 6 has been performed for all remotes TURN ignition to ON to exit programming mode. TURN ignition to OFF, and remove key. Test all remotes. Programming is complete.
I already have a fob that works and want to have a second fob for backup. Do i have to reprogram the original fob when programming the second fob so they both work??
Danielle F. Smith you should be able to simply do the programming on the new fob. If it doesn’t keep the old fob programming then when you go into programming mode do one then the other before you exit programming mode.
Your Car Guy DR How will i know if the new one works without turning the ignition off and exiting program? I suppose if it works and the original fob doesnt, i would try resetting again, but with them both at the same time, correct? Sorry. I’m sure i’m making this more complicated then it is.
Antonio Rosas easiest way is to get a tool from Dorman. It will come with an additional remote and plug into the obd2 port and put the vehicle in programming mode. They usually run $40-60 online.
Offgrid.Nomad on yours you will need a tool that Dorman sells with a remote. It plugs into the obd2 port and will put the vehicle in programming mode. Runs about $60 online.
