Programming Zello on Inrico T199 

With button mapper you can program the channel selector to perform some actions but I did not try that yet.

Duarte Braga button mapper does not recognize the channel selector.

go to rename channel in zello and add ch nr (01,02,03 etc)in front of the channel name then your channel dial will function for zello

You don't need internet to make changes. But you need internet on the radio, for the obvious reasons.

Of course, I was referring to the software for the Windows computer after you download it you don't need an internet connection to continue using it correct? As for the radio in a standard data plan will do correct? Thanks

I plan to attempt the same thing. The monitoring apps that use broadcastify system use a lot of data as they stream continuously, not just when receiving a signal. I'll try to remember to come back and let you know how it worked out.

Now I finally got around to buying a T199. Works just fine! A very nice little radio to put in the hands of the wife... No touch screen to mess thing up with! Perfect! Your video was extremy helpful - my only problem was getting th zello.apk fil to the radio, until I figured out it was just a drag-and-drop affair! Sometimes you feel to old... :-)

Mapping Zello Channels And Contacts To The Inrico Channel Knob The Inrico T199 radio includes a knob that allows you to switch through channels. To map Zello channels to channel numbers on the T199, do the following from the Zello app: Open the "Channels" screen and then click on the channel that you want to map. The talk screen for this channel will display. From the talk screen, click on the arrow down icon, then select "Rename channel". Change the channel name to include a two-digit numerical prefix matching the number of the channel on the knob. For example, if you have a channel named "CB Friends" and you want to map it to position #13 of the knob, rename it to "13 CB Friends". For channels with numbers under 10 use a leading zero (i.e. "01", "02" etc). You can map up to 16 channels and contacts combined. Exit the channel talk screen and then rotate the knob to test your changes. When the channel is selected, its name will be announced using text-to-speech. The channels are switched in their numerical order. For example if you have channels 01, 07 and 13 assigned, rotating the knob will make channels switch in the following order: 01 -> 07 -> 13 -> 01 -> 07, etc. Repeat steps 1-4 for all of the channels and contacts that you need to map. However, for contacts, instead of selecting "Channels" in step 1, you would open the "Contacts" screen and then select and rename the contacts you want to map. Be careful to use unique prefixes for different channels and contacts. Please note that when using ZelloWork channel and usernames, the display names are controlled centrally in the ZelloWork web management console. To ensure the correct order of channels and contacts, make sure to rename them appropriately with the management console.

Since Zello free and Zello Work require two different accounts, I would say you have to pick one or the other. Switching accounts requires connecting the radio to the computer and accessing it through Total Control. When you disconnect from the computer, you've disconnected from your control source and therefore you're unable to switch between the two accounts.

No, they program that sound, and I want to know how too! Because I love that tone!

I have changed my "roger beep" settings in the past, but I cannot remember if it was changed through the app on my device or if I had to do it on the computer / console online. Just a hunch, I believe it can be changed on the user end.

there is a description of how to use custom tones on zello on the Misc page at the networkradios.gq site. scroll down to the section headed 'Custom alert tones for Zello' there are a few sets of alert tones available for download if You do not want to make Your own.

Tried button mapper and it didn't work. Any other ideas? I really really need to know how to make the PTT button of the T199 work with the app running on the background.

Save the problem and just don't buy an screenless radio. Zello was made to be used with touchscreen devices... Just buy the T298 or another with screen and that will do.

I got the PTT working on T199. First thing to do is make your chosen channel "Default" within zello (Hold on the channel name and choose "make default"). This ensures that it PTT has a specific channel to transmit on when zello launches. Next, ensure preferences are set to launch zello on boot. Then use a third party app to make sure zello is in focus whenever standby mode is toggled. I used one called AutoExec1000.apk (google it) and put it on each of my T199s. For each option (boot, dock, insert headset etc), select Zello as the target app. I now have five T199s, all of which launch from scratch or from standby and work with PTT straight away.... Hope this info helps.

@DJ_Wollie The only three things I can think of (1) make sure you have made your desired channel on zello the "default" channel. Without this, the PTT won't work when the radio is launched as it has not been instructed which channel to transmit on. (2) make sure you have selected zello as the default app to run on launch in autoexec1000 app, as well as in zello options. When you set up the options in autoexec, there's a two-stage process to get it to work, firstly select zello as the chosen app, then as you go back the the previous screen, the app should be listed with a white circle next to it. if the centre of the circle is red, it's selected, otherwise you need to click on it to make it red. (3) By default the T199s have a screen lock on them, which you have to slide to unlock when connected in Total control. This prevents buttons from working, so you need to disable screen lock in androids settings. I now have six T199s and they all work flawlessly, though only on one channel. I don't have the equipment to make a video for this, but will try to at some stage in the future. Best of luck, please feed back if you get them working!

@@jeffcarr6371 Glad the info helped You get Your T-199s setup. Still using my T-199s when out and about on my bikes in the hills. Just one wee tip for outdoor all-wether use.. I added a small rubber 'O' ring under the On-Off-Volume knob to keep water & dirt out of the small gap. They have been rained on, covered in mud and bounced across rough landscape many times over the past 2+ years of use. One was even dropped in a river, twice! and they are still working well.
