This was an amazing (and sickening) conversation. Thank you MOLLY! And wow, I can't believe I've never heard of Dr. Skocpol. She is brilliant, funny, tough, and perfectly articulate. I'm thankful for you work.
I am so thankful that there are still people in this country who are intelligent enough to understand what is truly happening here. Thanks again, Molly, for making this widely available.
I'm also thankful we have ppl in this country who are intelligent enough, and of higher moral character to recognize the pendulum has swung too far left. 🤷♂️
@@LynxStarAuto Define "too far left". In my mind, if you're not progressing, you're just standing still. Is that really what you want? A life where you're stuck in a doom loop of same old, same old?
@@rhyscruz What exactly is your proof that that is happening? Hannity, Carlson, Pirro, Ingraham? Never bend the knee to a multi-billionaire Aussie (no less) trying to influence an American election for his own gain. Do you read the NY Post too?
Molly, this is a wonderful summary of how we have reached our current state. Thank you and thanks to Theda for her wonderful contributions. We are fortunate to have brilliant people, like the two of you, digesting this information for us. This is a must-share!
By publishing the document, as well as engaging in political activity, The Heritage Foundation is in violation of the IRS code for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations. As a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization and BBB Wise Giving Alliance-accredited charity, it is funded by donations from private individuals, corporations, and charitable foundations and is NOT required to disclose its donors and donations under the current laws that guide tax-deductible organizations.
That's interesting but do you think Democrats would he able to confront this in court, where you must swear on a Bible and then attack a 'religious' organization??
All you have to do is a call it a “social and economic policy”. Anything can be politicized. With a broad enough definition you could say the same for any organization that promotes DEI, gender theory, and racial equity as engaging in political action.
@@saintantoine2113 Actually, you don’t have swear on a Bible. If you request a different book on spirituality, they will allow you to swear on that book.
Many organizations on the right have tax exempt status, like churches. Religion is politically weaponized by the right, and they are promoting/endorsing the most un christian dogma to their flock and against their neighbours.
Thank you. So much. I will be forwarding this to others. I’m going to be honest. I am not from the USA. I am a close neighbour. We have people here who say they love Trump. I know that they have never listened to a speech by him or any of the magas. I am very concerned about your future. And ours. Many of our people tend to follow their southern neighbour’s. I have tried to post on various sites on RU-vid and I am invariably shut down if I dare mention history. Good work. I will be following you in the future. You are well spoken, articulate and educated!
I encourage you read both Project 2025 & Plan 47 for additional ideas (fears) to show your neighbors. Thank you for your support & democrats won't let you down. Long live democracy!
Most MAGA folk are libertarians by any other name. For them FREEDOM is freedom from gun regulation joined by book banning anti-WOKEers. They don’t know or care about how the Federalist Society, or the Heritage Society oppose their “rights” and prerogatives. They regard such “information” as propaganda - that is, left wing lies crafted to control them. Again, as an other impingement upon their Marlboro Man freedoms. This is the political meaning of “Don’t Tread on me.” Liberal democracy is loosing the propaganda war, the information war and the free market of ideas premise of our 18th Century democracy is being overwhelmed by billionaire alliances working hard to cease political power and political control of federal agencies and embedded administrative powers. The unspeakable rapidly is becoming political fact. Yes, MAGA populism and billionaire oligarchs have become bedfellows, each seeking political power to satisfy their separate ends. This is how our constitutional federal government ends. It’s not something the Adam Smith mindset can grasp. Tell me i exaggerate. I only wish.
This shows more reason to vote democrats into office! White House and Congress is how we get rid if it . And fix America! They look to bleed Americans dry .. Votes Win elections . People need to check their registration and make sure they vote and it counts ! Ignore Trumps lies . Vote Blue !

Too bad that the EPA lied to New Yorkers when they told them that the air was safe after nine-eleven -- rather than telling them that there was asbestos in the air. What about "Agenda 21?"
Today I ran into someone I haven't seen in years, who just graduated college, and I mentioned the election, and right away he said, "Project 2025,; we can't let that happen." That made me so happy. The more people who know, the better. Thank you Molly!!!
The discussion of alleged missing Motherhood should be linked to economics. That's because families could afford a home on one salary back in the 1950s and 1960s. One of the hidden drivers of Feminism was the rising costs of living which necessitated that both parents work in order to afford the American dream of home ownership and children who could afford to attend college. There has been a decisive attack on the Middle Class. A very educated librarian I met in California explained it this way: that if there is a strong middle class with educated children, it poses threats to that upper class that has ruled for hundreds of years. Also missing from this conversation is the German Model pivoted on the use of a scapegoat population (in that case it was Jews) to assuage the anger of low -income blue collar workers. In India, the Caste system holds a near parallel role. These models of oppression follow pre-existing templates. Only the names change.
I recall another side of the picture from the "top down" perspective. It's from an interview of Nicholas Rockefeller by the late film maker Aaron Russo. Rockefeller told Russo that he and his uber-wealthy cohorts welcomed women's lib because it would open up the "other half" of the U.S. for capitalist exploitation. Part of the interview went as follows [quote]: “[Nicholas] was at the house one night and he asked me what I thought Women’s liberation was about. I had conventional thinking so I said women having the right to work and having equal pay with men. He started to laugh and said there are two reasons: 1) We funded this movement to get more women into the workforce and now we can tax them and stimulate the economy. 2) We can control them in the offices, schools, and in life. We can break up the family structure and the government becomes the family structure.” [unquote]
When churches were CHURCHES (before the mega church-thing) I thought they shouldn't be taxed, BUT I firmly believe now that they MUST BE TAXED. Thousands upon thousands of ppl giving their hard-earned $ to these Maggot Preachers is just wrong. TAX THEM!

I took his words the same way. Clearly if Trump loses, again, the puppet masters pulling Maga's strings intend a 2nd insurrection and to retake power by force.
@@bbass5711 For such "Christians", Maga Republicans sure don't do the Golden Rule well. Also they seem to place themselves above the 10 Commandments. Hypocrites!
@@gfride1 It's beyond that: it's institutional bullying. Blaming the victims of violence. "I didn't want to stab you, but you just wouldn't give me your power." Or worse than bullying, it's gangsterism: "It would be a shame if something were to happen to your beautiful family because of your stubbornness."
My late father was active in Republican politics all of his lifetime. Moderate on most issues. He became concerned about the direction of things..moving to the extremism on the Right. This was around the late 90’s. And he officially retired from Republican Party affiliation . He had previously been honored in the 90’s in Vermont. Born in Boston and raised in New England and Cincinnati Ohio. He voted for President Obama in 2008. Died at the age of 90 in 2011. I am not surprised he was concerned. I sensed it too.
Oh, they are talking about it, this is a Democrat wet dream, talking about a 900 page proposal almost no Republican has ever even heard of. It's a lousy strategy, voters don't care. Normal voters don't care. All I see with Project 2025 is a whole lot of hard core progressives who are already solidly voting Democrat, panicking and sending this thing back and forth to one another. You don't change undecided minds that way.
THANK you for this. I learned a lot. And appreciate being introduced to Theda. Subscribed & "liked" ya'll. In my opinion (I'm not a social scientist; just a Boomer). Another reason woman stared working & ,leaving the "home" was marriages became less stable. Men left spouses more often, withdrew from their roles as Fathers, abused spouses more often (usually with impunity). Also, there was no financial equity in the relationship; essentially creating a parent (Men: I have control of the money) - child/dependent (Spouse: I need $ for the house & children). Men had valued a spouse's contributions to the family, but starting in the '60s, that began to change dramatically. I was there: I saw & then, lived it
@@gregbailey45: my husband has been deceased for over three years now. I remember the very first I heard "Take America Back." I looked at my husband and said "how far back?"
Someone needs to ask whatever politician says "We're taking the country back..." this question: Back to what, back to when? And it's implied that "they" once possessed the country. When was that?
Other than a small portion of the Republican party, exactly who do you think is going to vote for this? If neither Congress nor the president likes the project exactly how do you think it's a threat? It is good for fear mongering and that's about all you got.
Only way to stop this is to vote & volunteer to register & help voters vote, we must support Kamala Harris & Democratic Party to save our country & rights!
Nobody coming from Harvard is brilliant anymore. It's been decades since anyone brilliant came from there. They're only being indoctrinated and taught how to seem smart. Harvard has produced generations of people who are only good at self-aggrandization, pontificating, and over-complicating everything to the point that anyone who listens to them can't get anything done. I bought a new battery at Sam's Club the other day for our twenty year old SUV and the people who work in the automotive department freaked out on how fast I was able to swap it out with the old one. I had the old one out and the new one in before the guy could roll a cart out there to see how I was doing. My children rebuild engines and transmissions and fix machines that others have given up on. My oldest son bought a trailer load of "junk non-running" lawnmowers for $200 yesterday, and within fifteen minutes of pulling into our yard with them, all but one of them was ready to mow grass. I doubt if most Harvard post-graduates could change a light bulb by themselves. Sorry I was only able to make myself listen to the first four minutes and fifty-five seconds of your 'brilliant' video. I made the highest grade in Louisiana on the 1976 PSAT/NMSQT and I still tend to be just a bit attention deficit when it comes to beef sewage. The people in this Country who are still actually able to DO SOMETHING are voting for Donald Trump. The rest of you who only seem smart should vote blue if you believe in the platform.
I am neither a Republican nor Democrat, but stopped voting 3rd party after Bush Jr. got voted into office. The only time I've ever voted Republican was when I voted in the primaries to try to keep Trump off the ballot. I feel like if more people had figured that out we would have been successful. I thought I was pretty well educated/informed on politics, but it seems like I've only started hearing about 2025 in the last month or so. This interview was very enlightening, many thanks, and thank you to my aunt, who texted it to me and asked that I just listen to the first part (I've now listened to the full interview twice).
In 2010 the Supreme Court with Citizens United Decision full personhood to corporations with the right to spend limitless amounts of money to influence the Legislative and Judicial branches of Government. The corporate citizens are revolting.
Very interesting history and progression. I saw movement in this direction in the late 80s & 90s as people became more “me” oriented and competitive. I blamed that on the business culture, only caring about oneself. But as a country we’ve become less community-oriented and more narcissistic. Trump is the ultimate narcissist.
It began with the end of the Vietnam war. The Military Industrial Complex wanted the war to continue but through a freer press, people got to see the reality of war and stopped it. They knew they needed to muzzle the press and once again present endless war as patriotic. They found that if the used TV or Hollywood personalities as candidates, they could garner a large segment of the vote through simple name and face recognition. Then they did their best to present their policies as aligning with a macho patriotic slant and present the opponents as unmanly. For many this worked. Then they presented opponents as enemy and adopted the policy of never answering questions but continually repeating talking points. This strategy was fully established under Bush Senior and fine tuned by panels of psychologists. When I pointed out all this years ago, people said I was nuts. Now people are beginning to see and I sure hope it is not too late.

The implications of a second Trump presidency are terrifying for those of us outside of the US, and we have almost no say in the matter. Thank you for providing educational material to help raise awareness. The world literally hangs in the balance.
Why? they are being paid off NOT TO! Trump grifted massively during his tenure, domestically and internationally, so he has the money to control the media. Just my opinion (allegedly, for legal reasons)
We are experiencing something with the Right that has been in the works for decades. Not that they knew exactly how it would play out, but they did have a long-range plan, broadly speaking. A little here and a little there, until before you know it, they're a force to be reckoned with. For instance, imagine you have a car and you keep changing a part here and there until the car is really no longer the original car but it was done so subtly that you didn't realize the car was being rebuilt into a new car. On the other hand, the Left wants change but they want it NOW. They just want a new car. When half the country is conservative, such change does not work. It is a reality that many don't like and it lacks long-term strategy. It is a difficult situation. In any event, we are in the midst of the maelstrom and Trump must be defeated. Regarding the D-Day movie references, as somewhat of an historian, I was posting about this more than a year ago. A vote for Trump is a vote that those young men died for nothing (as we are now becoming the enemy we once fought). And, by the way, the German downfall wasn't pretty and ours won't be either if we fall to Trump and the MAGA cult. Ironically, the people voting for Trump think they're patriots. That's really the brilliance behind his movement. He has convinced millions of people to be the opposite of patriots while thinking they're patriots.
True. The Green Party has been making the same mistake since the 1990s. Run a futile presidential race instead of focusing down ballot where they could get seats and influence policy. There’s useless political theater instead of a long term plan.
It's a good idea. We need a list. At the very least it will focus attention on who are the billionaires pulling the strings and this would also help spread the message of what their plans are.
Share this video, help people register to vote that have no way to get there, and help them to vote on voting day!!! VOTE BLUE UP AND DOWN THE BALLOT!!!!
Not enough people are talking about "Bad Faith," which is a very good documentary that highlights the roles that Paul Weyrich and his 2001 manifesto play in the incremental development of Project 2025.

Janine Shapiro got a DV pilot started in the late 70's that became law in the early 80's. Every woman I knew were being beat up regularly. If the Cops were called, they couldnt do anything bc there were no laws. Prior to this, Women went missing all the time. Women were murdered a lot & no one was prosecuted. Men in charge. With the change in laws & technology, things have changed.
Former President Donald Trump says he knows “nothing about” a conservative policy blueprint and has “no idea who is behind it.” But the authors include Trump’s former Cabinet secretaries, top White House officials and senior aides - including former Trump appointees to EPA, the Interior Department and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Thank you, Molly, for producing this series on Project 2025. I was just about ready to create a college-like course schedule for myself to digest the 900+ pages of Project 2025 to educate myself about the possible threats lurking within that textbook-sized document. I was delighted when I heard about this Project 2025 series through your appearance on Al Franken's podcast with Mark Leibovich. All this far right agenda is designed to stop people cooperating with each other. Partisan, Racist, Religious, Economic, Gendered. Another brilliant, scary episode! It seems the biggest takeaway is that we need to have more organizing at the community level to make sure they DON'T have the schools, the election workers, the legislature, or any other apparatus of power. If we could get dark money out of politics, it might free up grass roots donations to support more collective, trusted media/journalism that people can learn more about what's going on
