Sir I've watched a few of your videos now and subbed your channel, I've been through vo-tech automotive training and worked as a line tech. I'll admit there's nothing like hands on experience and classroom instruction. What I want to say is I like the systematic way you're going about these rebuilds and explaining everything and what to look for, and the focus is there in the aspect you don't have a classroom of "clowns to interrupt the lesson or your own personal "interjections" that "need" to be voiced. Good job on the videos and also being deliberate, clear, and precise at each step.
I just rebuilt my 2007 Chevrolet 4L60E following Jimmy's tutorials and it works again! Fantastic video series and presentation. Never thought I'd attempt this procedure but he made it easy as well as ordering the parts I needed. Highly recommended, thanks Jimmy!
Absolutely love the videos. The only comment I have is that placing all the small parts in the same box makes me uneasy. Typically I’ll place the bolts/parts in separate baggies and mark them. For large disassembly, like the valve body, I’ll make a template on a sheet of cardboard that’s the same as the bolt locations, and punch the bolts through the cardboard. This makes reassembly very straightforward.
LOL, I just got to that point too. I will use baggies and a label. If I had done 1000 of these may be the "place all the parts in the small parts box" wouldn't make me uneasy.
Hey, Nice job on the videos. very clear and concise. Appreciate the hard work it takes to put these videos together. Twill be going to your site to by the parts for my trans rebuild. Thanks Again, Anthony
The main wire connecting harness locking tabs breaking requiring a new harness... Safety wire and/or hose clamps are your friend. Also, learn how to use a wire clamping tool like the ClampTite example... I can't tell you how many expensive problems have been repaired permanently and robustly using simple safety wire applied and fastened properly. Of course, there's a *huge* difference between a paying customer repair and a high-quality life-of-the-vehicle shade-tree mechanic fix...
