hisokeee: Take breaks after practice, playing the same thing for too long will get your mind blocked. Also hisokeee: (plays the fast part of the Intense Voice of Hatsune Miku for a straight hour)
Well to be fair it's literally just the game (not originally for ps4 and switch) ported over to ps4 and switch. Not much was changed in the already existing charts But yeah, they could have redesigned the charts to make it better
This tutorial is gold, I’ve been playing for 1 year already but still get confused with 360° overlapping notes so knowing which songs to train that is very helpful ^^, and the fat thump with normal notes and multi-notes really helps me to master the perfect in 9, 9.5 or 10☆ which I still only get great or standarts.
I'm playing Project Diva for 5 years now (I'm a casual player), perfected nearly all songs on Hard but couldn't beat most of the Extreme and Exextreme songs at 9 stars and above, because it's to fast and stressful ^^' (I'm sorry if my english is bad)
Oh! I didnt expect tutorials outside of beginner levels, this is dope! Reading multinotes in a chart im trying for the first time can mess me up when it's certain matches right after each other; specifically the ones in roki ex and julianight ex. Thanks for the info as always sensei
The ps icons are easier to learn imo The nintendo icons are not as distinct to each other, most notably the x and y looking too similar when they're right next to each other The arrows don't change colors on the inside when they are a multi note, making it harder to tell that you're supposed to hit a multinote, also they look kind of similar to the sliders.
@@charmeleonevolves5553 mmm I play with arrows but I mostly can tell which ones to press from their position when they aren't colored. Regarding the sliders, I have never confused them with each other. Might just be me though because I've played with arrows since I bought the game.
This is seriously helpful. I’ve been playing hard for a while and starting to get greats to almost excellent on 7.5 and 8’s and I want to do extreme more
Thank you so much for doing this! I've played F2nd and X before, but never FT, so when I bought Megamix I really started having trouble especially with the multi notes and learning to adjust to the holds and macros. Hopefully with these tips I'll be able to slowly get more comfortable with the game and it's mechanics. Maybe soon I'll be able to move from 8☆ songs to something evem more challenging!
Well, at least I'm above average in Hiso's eye lmao In all seriousness though, thanks so much for the lessons on multinotes. I've been streaming Future Tone extremes for a while and I've been scared of 9+ star extremes because I could never get the hang of multinotes. I have some more confidence after watching this.
I wrote down the order of the XYBA format on a long piece of card stock and placed it in front of me. Suddenly multi notes come a lot more naturally to me :D
Holy crap nice. I mastered Hard recently and started my Extreme journey and triple notes and consecutive double notes have been destroying me. This is gonna help a lot thank you so much mate!❤
I’ve been trying to get some of my friends into playing project diva, but they were always afraid they wouldn’t be able to learn to play it! I’m glad this tutorial exists because, honestly, I wouldn’t know how to explain it to them :’)
I now feel like a genius since I instinctively set my macros as quads on the triggers and the triangle+x / square + circle on the bunpers lol. These tutorials are very good by the way hiso! This is my first PD game and I’ve already managed to get 15 hard perfects (including envy catwalk which was quite impressive for me)
It's amazing how helpful understanding the arcade layout can be. There was a Future Tone cabinet in a local arcade while I was studying in Nagoya that I played the shit out of for five months. By the time I came back to my PS4 I was leagues better at recognizing and doing combos 'cause it's so much easier to visualize the cabinet layout than a controller.
Very helpful video I'm currently practicing 9.0 9.5 10 songs I recently cleared Roki with a standard in mega mix you are a great teacher to all project diva players beginners to pros
This is so interesting and useful!! i started playing project diva not long ago and im loving it. in most rhythm games i can usually clear the hardest difficulty after a few days of practice. (To be fair i usually play mobile games.) Project diva is really challenging, and the highest i can clear are a few very low level expert songs. These tutorial videos are incredibly helpful, without them I’d be totally lost. Im glad i can enjoy pd to its full potential!
thank you for making these guides im new to these quads and whatever can't wait for mom to get me full game in a few months after doing all my school work
Thank you so, so much for all of these beginner and intermediate player tips, Hiso! I really, really appreciate all the tid bits of info I can get, especially with the note patterns and doubles, because I am a complete mess when I do them, but at least I get them sometimes! XD Definitely looking forward to more tutorials, especially the advanced player ones :) Practise makes perfect! :)
Thanks hiso, great video. It was a struggle to learn how to read these new doubles/triples after playing f2nd even after fcing all extremes in it. Kind of stupid that you're forced to fatfinger some of the patterns but ig it's fun. Feels like playing the game as a beginner again lol.
Just happy of having an arcade future tone that I can play whenever I want. Megamix with the pad is cool for training and getting better on the real deal as the patterns are the same :) nice work with the tutorials
RUSSIAN! Great tutorial, 10/10!
1:30 ftr those arent /really/ triplets, theyre semiquavers/16th notes. there just happens to be three of them in some instances. a real triplet would be 3 notes the same length as a quarter note
Thanks for pointing out the positions of the multi-notes and how they're always set how they appear on the arcade machine, that will help a ton. When they're too close to eachother it totally overwhelms me and leaves me fucked sideways without contraception. Even worse, my R3 doesn't click/work so I can't practice as efficiently.
Thank you for these tutorials! I didn’t get MegaMix but I recently got FT and while I learned muscle memory a little by myself, I do still have a lot of difficulty with macro and double/triple notes (mainly cause in extreme songs, they throw it all in your face) and I think and hope with some practice I can perfect some! (I’m on the road to perfect Ievan Polkka and World Is Mine)
duuude the fact that you can use bumpers as abxy notes totally went past me, I've been doing my best to get them right by thumbs all this time xD I bet this will make stuff so much easier hahaha
This was nice. Kohai finally got me into playin these an I’ve been tryin to catch up. I’m like 100 hours in an I’m pretty stuck at 9.5s I haven’t passed a single 10 an I can’t pass every 9.5. I didn’t know you could do macros holy
I was literally gonna ask next stream how to get used to holds since I'm actually trying to get high scores now lol. Well my questions been answered on the first 2 min.
I know this depends on the TV, but even in handheld mode: what are the lag settings in practice mode supposed to be (if even applicable)? Every time I jump into practice mode to try something the notes are very obviously out of sync whilst being correct during the actual PV chart. I always feel like I'm doing it wrong until I then later on try the actual song and it all starts making sense...
Sup, A intermediate diva player here, i wanna say thanks for the tips and i got an another method for 360°s You heard it right, another method What i like to do is press up and left for my alter buttons and press B and A next for the other side Or when its opposite i do this... i press right and down on my alter and X and Y for the other side, this method helped me out on the 360° part on Commitee ex This method may be difficult but if you practice enough, it will be pretty much.. how do it describe it? easy? Yeah, pretty much easy But anyways thank you
i think my weakest spot is reading multi notes slowly, like i'm comfortable with triangle + circle and triangle + square combo but with anything else my fingers just panic and click something way different. i also suck at spam clicking as well (for example the ending for the disappearance of hatsune miku on hard), i just spam the notes but i always get a bad or a safe. dunno how fast you need to click between them tbh
How do I hold a button combo while still pressing buttons? For example can I transfer an XA Hold onto the ZR or ZL button or do I just have to set it this way? I'm trying Expert now and it's difficult to get a Hold Bonus I don't get it.
is there any way i can become faster? because that's my only problem i guess practicing fast songs in general would help but maybe there's a specific song that can help with that though that probably depends on my current skill level... i've been playing DIVA for like 3 years and i still can't play some songs because they're too fast :/
2:48, Ah yes one of my biggest weakness when playing harder songs is I play the spam notes way to fast. It is really hard slowing down and playing to the actual rhythm when your brain see's this huge stream of notes just overlapped.
for th overlapping notes ehat do i do if it gets a worng like if yhe scores come like at the right time but since its two different notes i mess up the timing of that also, for double notes i always press one of the notes on the arrow and the other on the normal buttons, and like that all of them are really easy to press but you didnt mention that way of doing it so i mean is it wrong? cuz i have a hard time fat thumbing any of them and i can read them pretty easy like that and i didnt rlly know about the patterns youre talkinga bout
I do it that way too but fat thumbing is needed if you need to switch between double and single notes quickly. E.g quickly switching between triangle and square + x could be difficult but if you fat thumb one side, you can just alternate between fat thumbing the dpad and single notes on the buttons Or if you have to quickly switch between two multinotes e.g triangle square and x circle, you can just fat thumb on both sides
Not me having learned the hard stuff before the easy stuff and not able to do some of the simple things from the first three lessons, but able to do most of this stuff just fine 🙃
So how often would you recommend that we practice these lessons? I was thinking of doing full practice every other day, but would you rather recommend practicing everyday? And for how long? 🤔
Up to each player, some people have only so much patience for doing repetitive things. Just from my experience I hit a mind block if I practice the same thing too much and it no longer helps me anymore to continue which is why i recommend to take breaks. So go until you get sick of it or it no longer feels like its helping then stop and try somthing else.
Im am having difficulties with longer alternating passages. For example lesson 1 in the first video and lesson 6 in this video. First it works, but halfway through my thumbs start to synchornize, breaking the alternating pattern. Will that get better eventually or is there a special way to practice this? Im doing these drills for about a week now, only minor impovements.
Um... Is it bad that whenever I start a line of fast overlapping notes, I start with my left hand? And that I'm better at triplets using my left hand for the first and last note?
But what do I do if my thumbs are too small to fat thumb double notes? I've never been able to do a double note on one side of the controller and I've played Future Tone since it launched in North America
What..... I played the free hatsune miku game on ps4 (the one with the 2 songs ) I currently have 7 hours of gameplay on it ( yes with the 2 songs) I have reached the point where I can play half of the song blindfolded And these tips are very useful
@@hisokeee Yea, I was just wondering how this series would progress in the future. Since this is the "intermediate" lesson I assume there will be another for better players and I was wondering what would be next. FT/mega39s wise, I think the only things you could do after these basic theory videos would be the different ways to perfect the hardest songs in the games, ending on Gekishou ExEx with most of the variations of macros and ways people perfected it. I mentioned F2nd because that's (imo) the hardest diva because edit mode and after perfecting/SAing/% everything you want on FT/mega39s there's not much to do but you are right when you say F2nd is too dead atm. n1tr0t0m started charting on f2nd again but he's not been present on the community that much either so yea. Hopefully they remake it on ps5 if it supports mp3 similarly to the ps3. Thx for the response MikuComfy
@vmkalima it would be cool, although probably never happening, if the next game had an edit mode with both Arcade and F2nd mechanics available. Basically an official PPD.
my first project diva game was project mirai, and you have to sometimes press the same note twice using the letter buttons and dpad, so ive been trained to do combos by pressing a note with both my right and left hand and it kinda works for me? is this a bad playing technique? lol (i just started playing megamix, never played future tone)
This may be a stupid question, but how do you set the lag configuration exactly right qhen playing on the TV? I don't know if I'm simply not use to it, but I reconfigured the lag in customization and consistently got way lower scores than on handheld. How can you make aure the lag configuration is exactly right? Is it just a matter of me learning to use the tv? Thank you for these lessons!
That setting offsets the music delay not your input delay. You cannot adjust delay so if your TV is too big or does not have game mode to reduce lag, you will have no choice but to play with the delay
im definitely regretting learning the game with the switch button icons...having ABYX is all fun and games until i ever try project diva on any other console
My problem really is consistency. I have Perfects in over half of both Ex and ExEx songs, but that doesn't mean I can do it all the time, it just means I worked my ass off perfecting it once like a test. When in reality I probably average a 90-98% on the song most of the time. I also choke A LOT because my heart starts beating fast towards the end of the song if I haven't missed any yet and I believe I end up psyching myself out due to nerves. Is this normal?
It happens, some players are naturally more stressed out. No shame in that, you still got the perfect! It happens to me too if I got the perfect 1 time and never practiced the song again. When I retry it months later I will most likely get a 95% or sometimes even lower lol.
