In this one I use the Echo 58V Battery Powered Chainsaw to clear a space for the kids tree swing and give my opinion of the saw.

Thank you so much for this review. As an older lady, I can’t start a gas powered chain saw. So battery power it is. I too watched the same Project Farm video. I will be looking into where I can buy one. TY ❤

You are welcome, this video is over a year old and the saw still performs as well as it did then.

Project farms videos basically why I got one of these as well. Sure gas power one is cheaper, and lasts on the field a lot longer, but for how infrequently I use one, I don't have time to keep the carburetor cleaned and keep the fuel mixed and all that stuff while it sits in the storage.

Agree, gas and electric both have their place but the electric saw is so convenient, definitely money well spent. Appreciate the comment

I, too, have watched Project Farm covering a wide range of product testing/comparisons. I have an Ego chainsaw I bought for a girlfriend to do trimming. She’s gone but the saw still remains. Since I do cut firewood, I never use it, but it’s there. In answer to your subject question, the only battery power that’s changed my life would be drills, impact drivers, and a wrench (mainly Milwaukee and Bosch). Their convenience is too positive to ignore. Saws not so much as they lack both power and RPM. Grinders drain the battery quickly. I will say this, I do like the smaller leaf-blowers (the Ego was my first - Milwaukee will be my last).

Mark I guess a persons application plays a big role but boy are you right about the world of drills and impact drivers. Lastly, I gladly think the gas saw is with us to stay and they sound a lot better! Appreciate the comment as always

Good review! Appreciate it! I bought one years ago and the saw itself still runs fine. The battery is another story. Two of them have gone bad and wouldn't take a charge and they're very pricey. Fortunately BOTH bad batteries were replaced for free under the battery 5 year warranty. All it took was a phone call.

I bought one more than 10 years ago (probably when they first came out) and have had the same issues with the batteries. The batteries apparently can discharge too far and won’t recharge because the charger won’t recognize them. I didn’t come up with that on my own, I did some research. So now I don’t run the battery completely dead, it’s easier to change the battery than buy a new one. I also have the Echo string trimmer, same battery and also 10+ years old and never a problem.

Really good rundown on the saws performance etc man, Todd’s doing a service to all of us consumers on his channel another good one to watch is torque test channel as far as power tools go impact wrenches drivers drills grinders air tool’s flashlights etc they test em and hold brand’s accountable for their outlandish claims on the box but ya Pf is a phenomenal channel
