The FJ gets wider custom flares and a brand new Magnuson supercharger! Daryl explains the flares and Alex may or may not have installed the supercharger. The guys get in and test the new power from the FJ and give their reactions!
Great idea with the flares man... I like them... For me with snorkel i had to cut mine so it would fit correctly.... Two thumbs up on build guys.. I have 14 iceberg here myself. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY FOR WINDOWS... just paid the credit card off oh well...
Looks as it should excellent work not cobbled together its a finished piece that shows care has been taken in all aspects of the build not like lipstick on a pig
Very nice flares in ABS they'd be sweet to help keep the trash off the doors etc as for set up on Magnuson unit a ten year old who could read could easily do that lol
I've always wondered TRD had a supercharger for these and there's plenty of info out there with other brands but nothing on fj's with turbos. I would think turbos would be a better option than a supercharger. How much has the fuel economy changed ?
What is fuel economy? We don't usually beat it up too much for the fuel economy to dip too much. But you can feel a difference when your right foot goes down.
Back in 2008 I put the TRD Supercharger in but had Toyota reflash the ECU. All these years later, I wanted to replace the 3 inch drive pulley with a 2.8 inch pulley from URD. The extra 25hp would be great but I can’t find anyone out there that can re-tune my ECU so the pulley just sits in a box, what a waste of money! 😠
No, apparently the Toyota is encrypted and no one has a way of tuning it on a dyno. I really don’t trust the generic “chip” Companies out there, I haven’t heard a lot of good things about them concerning an engine that has been modified.
Does the Magnussen Supercharger make as much or more power than the TRD supercharger? How has the supercharger improved the FJ other than Power and Torque???
We don't have a lot of experience with the TRD Supercharger since they've been discontinued. The truck now feels a bit more powerful and now more closely matches foot to pedal and tire to pavement (if that makes sense).
@@JustDriven we found an ‘08 with the same supercharger. It seems a bit banged up but we would have money left over to fix it. Do you think it’s worth it?
