Hey Ganon fans! I'm trying to make some noise about de-cloning ganondorf in smash ultimate. I'm making the case that it would be nice if for dlc, ganon could get an alternate moveset that can be toggled in the character select screen! If everyone that supports this can make some noise on social media, that would be great! Ive started a hashtag on twitter #DecloneGanondorf. Here's my twitter if anyone wants to join in, and read and share anything ive posted. / bronzegreekgod

+GumptheGreat Having Ganondorf as my 2nd main, I'm quite fine with having Ganon as a clone of Falcon. However, this doesn't mean i don't agree with you. I never truly understood how Sakurai's mindset works. He makes a lot of good decisions but he makes an equal amount of bad decisions as well. Now as for the PSA, You're god damn right I'm downloading this when i get the chance.

I'd love there to be OP characters like this. Not be played as (Except maybe in a special mode), but to fight as bosses in the game. I'd prefer the same boss style I got from Metal Mario in Smash 64 than for every boss to have HP like they did in Brawl.

+Nintendawg65 In Project M, you can play as Wario Man or Giga Bowser by holding L/R when you select them. Both are effectively boss characters. Perhaps something like this could be added for the 'Dorf.

+Grample Gust Ganondorf was one of the last characters added into Melee. He nearly didn't make it in. They threw Falcon's moveset on him at the last minute and tweaked it a bit so it wouldn't be an EXACT copy. We're honestly lucky to have him in Melee at all. The reason why he hasn't been changed in Brawl or Smash 4 is unknown though. They've had plenty of time to rework the character, and everyone knows they have the creative talent and funding to make something similar to what this video showed off. I think it's because they didn't want to "alienate the Melee Ganon fans" by making him radically different. (Which is completely lame, but is really the only logical explanation.)

+Sheecacaa3 It is the reason you gave. While I don't play him, I do have many friends who do and they love the moveset he has right now so what you said rings true in their cases. To be fair, it has been changed a lot ever since the Melee days while still remaining a semiclone.

What? Ganons transition from melee to brawl was one of the worst nerfs in the smash series. They didn't keep him as meh falcondorf, they just made him fatter, slower, "oldmanondorf" what literally no one wanted. His iteration in brawl in completely unforgivable, and his smash 4 self could have been LEAGUES better and his chance to finally declone . ( it was better though to be fair)

+TheBronzegreekgod Very well designed couple of modifications for Ganondorf. Though, if I might make a suggestion, with the sword variant, it might actually work better if you make the sweet-spot of his attacks at the middle of his blade. Not only to give him some variety from Marth's bit with a sword, but because a sword designed like the one from Twilight Princess would actually do the most damage from the middle section. This is due to the wider blade having its center of mass near the middle or base.

Man, if the knockback and damages were toned down a bit, this could be actually used in noncasual play. For example, the OHKO thing on sword is pretty flipping dumb and that magnetic grab is pretty off. Idk, I have a feeling this is mainly a mod for the cool factor and not for "making sort of a new character for actual play," but if this were tweaked for such play that'd be sick.

+The Shiny Volcarona I got the same impression as well. It looks really, really fucking good, but the Phantom Ganon looks a little too much. I have never played PM but this looks like it was designed to have literally every option, better aerial mobility then peach as well as ridiculous range, a projectile and a strong looking spike. (or maybe a meteor, assuming you can cancel those in PM) Also are those recycled animations from other characters? Cause that's really cool if that's how you put that together.

Now I want to see *Young Link's move set corrected. Instead of making *Young Link a clone of Adult Link, they should have drawn influence from Majora's Mask. Child Link should have been able to use his masks as transformations, much like Shiek/Zelda.

+hysuka2 It's fine, but I like YL. more than T.L. and I agree with you, but Y.L is not exactly a clone of Link (Adult Link), he's more gile, has sweetspots on his D-Air just like Roy, can wall-jump and a few other things.

Reese Labbe Another horrible decision was to not give Ganondorf his own moveset when he was making Brawl. Dorf had Falcon's moveset in Melee because he was a last minute add, but they had no excuse not to update him for Brawl or 4.

You can survive a rest and or block it, on top of that despite how ppl make it look its not that easy to land and you can be severely punished for whiffing it. I think this way easier to pull off seeing how you can charge and run around with it and it looks like it can send shields to the shadow realm if you dare block it. Feels kinda like little Macs KO punch which is dumb as fuck

I was always indifferent about the Ganandorf/Falcon issue but after seeing what the potential is I can finally understand why people are annoyed that Ganondorf doesn't have his own unique moveset. This is also the first time I have been tempted to get Project M. But if this is an unofficial mod how does one go about acquiring it?

Go to the website, then go to downloads. I'm assuming you don't want a pirated version so make sure you have a PC, brawl disc, and at least a 2 gb REGULAR SD card.

Fixing what the other comment said, it has to be an EXACTLY 2 GB SD card. The PM team explains why on the website, apparently something about the disc not being able to read bigger SD cards or something.

The Neutral B with Swordorf's hitstun ability is a really cool concept but the kill confirm seems a little easy if you ask me.

+KIKO JAIMES Actually, there was poll in SmashBoards to add new characters, and the idea of a revamped Ganondorf (with Black Shadow to take on Falcondorf's moveset) was 3rd most voted, just behind Isaac and Ridley.

+Frost Wolfe Smash 5...? Sakurai said that Smash 4 is the last in the series, but it will get updated from time to time, so there's no sense in making another Smash 5. unless... Smash 5 could be something different, maybe more centered into the competitive scene... But we'll still have Smash 4 for now.

Well, there's always been a new Smash game for each new Nintendo console. I highly doubt that that's going to stop with the Wii U although they might skip the NX since it's going to come out so soon after the Wii U did. Also, Namco was supposedly working on a "sixth" installment for arcades but I'm not sure what became of that project.

Super60429 Idk about Namco, really, but you know, you can't play Smash on every console, so maybe they could make a port of Sm4sh to the NX like they did with the PS3 game transitions into the PS4.

As much as I love the focus on magic and his sword, I don't think he should focus on tippers as much even if they're just made for finishing.. Unless they're actually really, REALLY hard to hit consistently. Even then, if people get his non-tips down to the point where they don't really need them to kill, it would just feel like an unnecessary bonus. Not hatin', just being a critic.

+OhLook ItsLuca (Luca) We'll have to see how it goes when people start playing. Balancing isn't an easy job for one guy to do! I mean I have had help and advice here and there, but that isn't enough. Competitive people need to do some serious testing to find what's OP or under powered if anything. What you see here is the main meat and potatoes of these two characters, but lots of tweaking will have to take place to make sure everything is balanced. Unless by some fluke I got it perfect on the first shot :P

+TheBronzegreekgod well, when you do get it released, be sure to make this variant in a seperate slot or as a "hold R with Ganon" thing. I would like to try it but I don't wanna give up P:M Ganny to do it lol Also, and you probably already thought ahead with this, but I hope there's a height limit to Magic Ganon's float has some sort of limitation on height or can only be used when there's ground under him, otherwise people might float to the top or top corners of the screen and spam taunt to refresh the time. And I really don't think he should be having a boot that spikes, his angled ftilt is already amazing at punishing imperfect sweetspotted recoveries, he probably doesn't need it taking a stock but I'd have to see what else he's got to be sure.

+OhLook ItsLuca (Luca) I have to agree. Using the tip feels a bit to Marth-like. Maybe have Ganon's sword be more like Roy's? Ganon's swordplay should probably feel more like charging in at your opponent, not spacing them out.

I'm alright with tips if they're really hard to get consistently (like say the closer you hit to the tip but not exactly the tip, the flubbier the attack is), but maybe consider it being more strong at the base, but nothing crazy considering the size of the sword. I also liked how dtilt/ftilt pulled people in at the tip as well. And remembering the sideb now, if you're gonna allow people to turn around with that, I'd suggest it having half the power since you're trading it for correcting yourself. Although, as I say this, I could be entirely wrong because it's not like I've tested it personally, and I'm remembering that Ganon doesn't really have much ways to approach unlike Ike's sideb and Roy and Marth's ground speed, so 'til then - He'd make fart noises -

+OhLook ItsLuca (Luca) The tipper focus makes sense if you compare Ganon to his Brawler form. Why switch his sweetspot from the tip to the base? Because it feels too much like Marth? Wouldn't having the Sweetspot in the base be "too much like Roy" then? that argument is out the window now. You gotta remember that Ganondorf doesn't swing as fast as Marth to be rewarded as easily for his tippers so he feels a little closer to Ike without his Quick draw mobility and for that reason alone i can't see him doing as well as neither Ike or Marth. Now, back to my point: Brawler Ganon has short-mid range attacks. Giving Sword Ganon sweetspots at the base of his sword would make him a short-mid range oriented fighter with slightly more (albeit weak) range. That sounds pretty boring from a design perspective.

Finally....after all the Brawl hacks....we finally have a Ganondorf that can switch between a mage, a brawler, and a swordsman via his taunts. All with moves that make sense and are sensibly balanced while still including that Triforce of Power strength. With CSPs and costume mods that pay homage to his past incarnations. And all in one package. It finally happened. Now to figure out how to modify his Final Smash so that you can control Ganon as a playable character. And to finally get that Hyrule Warriors costume of his into Brawl somehow. Maybe even make a dual-wielding version of it (or mode by inputting a command when drawing his sword during taunt) so we can give Wind Waker Ganon some more respect.

I would TOTALLY love it if future Smash Games did this (have Falcondorf, Swordorf, and Wizardorf available via his taunts). I'm totally downloading this when it comes out. Quick question though: I saw it saying Lucario for Ganondorf around 5:29 in the video. Is it because you guys are working on Wizardorf as a separate character or is it because you're using Lucario as a base for now and will implement it to Swordorf/Falcondorf via Up Taunt when done? I'm hoping for the latter, but I'm still downloading it when it's done. Looks cleaner than Triforce Ganon IMHO.

+The One Who Wrote This So magic ganondorf is over lucario, and sword/fist ganon is just over ganon. The ultimate goal is to clone lucario and have 2 ganondorfs one from TP and one from OOT.

Nicholas Yonta In Melee, he was a last-minute addition, so they kind of made him a clone to save time. That being said, he still should be de-cloned. Especially considering it's been the same for almost 16 years

Daniel Ireland Whether or not the series is ruined isn't at issue here. What people are insulting sakurai for in this comment section is that one singular character isn't what they wanted it to be. It's like Ridley. Chances are, if he IS playable, he'll probably be really slow, leading to people hating sakurai because the fact that he's finally in isn't enough. It's one problem after the other, and the (vocal) community is too set on whining. So what if ganondorf doesn't have a new moveset? Is it really that bad that you need to insult the creator of the series just for it?

+Downtown Brown Project M is much more balanced than any smash game I've played. I can play well as every character, and can be beaten by any character. Not to mention every character is fun as heck to play as. There aren't any completely unplayable characters, or any top tiers, everyone's equal. If you watch the trailers they put out, characters look OP all the time cause the trailer is designed to showcase the characters strengths. And if you notice.. EVERYONE looks OP. So if they truly are all OP - everyone OP = balanced game.

Oh. My. Gosh. :o This is AMAZING. I was extremely disappointed that none of Ganondorf's custom specials in Sm4sh did anything like your OOT version--I would've gladly taken a ranged magical attack (which I would call Eldritch Blast) and Mario-like reflector cape over the Warlock Punch and Wizard's Foot.

While as an avid Ganon player (I main Link), this looks SSIIIIIICK!!! I really wish we had implementation kinda like this in some way in project M. I dunno, I like the idea of some of these attacks replacing what currently exists but it seems a BIT overpowered... then again that's ganon for ya. But still, it'd be awesome of the Project M guys got inspired by this and decided to implement a little more ganon-like things cuz of you =)

...These, are two amazing revisions to Ganon. I have to give you, and anyone else that may have worked on this, a huge amount of credit. If I had project M, and could run it (potato computer) I would totally play as the amazing king of darkness once more. GREAT work! (I say and other people, because this seems way too polished to be a one man job, but if you did do it all by yourself, thats just even more impressive!)

This is glorious, everything is perfect. One thing though, for TP Ganon, I think there should be an additional sweet-spot near the base of the sword, at the hilt. Maybe not quite as powerful as the tip, but still. I say this because during the fight with Ganon in Twilight Princess, you lock swords with him at about that point on his/your sword, and have to mash 'A' to win the struggle. It would be a cool little nod to that moment.

Bronzegreekgod, this is amazing, Ganondorf has always been one of my least favourite Smash characters because his C.Falcon moveset doesn't fit with him al all (except his Final Smash), but what you've made is awesome. Ganondorf deserves a moveset based on The Legend of Zelda games, either as a wizard of as a heavy swordsman, and you made both. Awesome job, I hope Sakurai is watching this.

That moment when you are an huge zelda fan, but also a smash addict, and watching captain ganondorf play like actual Ganondorf doesn't feel right... Don't get me wrong, this is still a goddamn dank/10 , and I love you for making this.
