I Love isakusans work for Blue Archive but his current actions really disappointed me. Even though I am a bit sad that project kv was cancelled because I was curious on what the ex devs could cook without corporate restrictions I kinda see why this is the right move for them as they are receiving bad rep from the Korean & Japanese community and if they push further with similarities to BA they may face a legal response for nexon. I've read that some ex BA devs/members were freelancers so it was a relief that they could still work in BA not sure about some artist though like doremi. Part of me kinda wish that they would continue on making the story of the characters they've shown already and they could just focus on making project KV into a manga series or just a plain Visuals Novel.

@@kozwiz2385 Isakusan writing in my opinion stood out more in interaction between characters, like the dialogues and life lesson in it is so quotable, and I think he too the one who created Sensei's personality we know and love... and while the world building and lore he made quite interesting in BA, but I think he unfortunately was less focused on developed it further thus leaving many questions to be answered.
That's unfortunate since I was looking forward for Kaoru😢 But I knew this will happen sooner or later since they just didn't make the KR bros pissed with them working on this while still on BA resulting on quality drop, but also the JP bros by trying to cheat comiket rules followed with their poorly worded apology (they didn't even pin it and even proceeds to bury it by reposting fanart making them look not sincere) and JP then take it as them insulting comiket
They could have changed a lot of things especially the halos, if they had made a gameplay video with a game style that is way different than Blue Archive which could be constested in court.
Yeah I was supporting this because I wanted to see the gameplay first who care story we just skip them and read it later!!! I want to see the gameplay beside the first reason I mentioned earlier, I also want to see is it just copying BA or copying japanese rpg gacha like Priconne due to using katana as weapon is different using gun and strategic placement is like playing girlfront or XCOM. Man I was hyped. They are so dumb to work on it and promote it without consulting lawyers first and committing to their decision, whether their decision is to continue forward with the game or abandon the project. By the time you are trying to promote a project you should already know if you are going to stick with it or not. It's like they only planned a few days into the future and didn't think about the obvious issues that would arise.

I mean, even if it’s not illegal, isn’t it considered rude? I don’t get it. For us, we try to avoid companys that are rude and not competing in a fair way. I thought western have commercial moralities too. I guess I was wrong? I don’t even like BA’s game system but yet I am so furious as an animation student. If I can just copy others and be famous, why make up my own? I can just copy famous animations and change them just a little and noone will mind. Easy. Lets make Tigerking. Big mermaid. The forest book. Etc. Don’t you find it weird that the person who literally said halo is blue archive’s identity, is working on KV? Like isn’t it obvious? I am honestly surprised and shocked. Those guys were never Blue Archive fans in reality, they don't get that invested in the themes and stuff the devs said to notice the plagiarism in KV A part of me wanted KV to be a reality so these guys move onto KV and leave BA alone, but ultimately I'm glad KV ended anyway

It's too bad things went down this way. But I'm also not remotely surprised. The designs in general had some strong (sometimes very strong) similarities. But then they threw in the halos. I'm not saying that no one besides Blue Archive can use halos. But the the designs in general and the halos put together probably did set off Nexon and get them a strongly worded cease and desist. Initially I honestly thought that KV was an official Blue Archive spinoff. It really was Blue Archive with swords! This does suck of course. It would have been fun to see the finished product. A shame that a path forward couldn't be found and it had to end this badly.
The originality claim is a valid point, but project KV can be its own unique thing. It does make me wonder if these former Blue Archive devs and artist thought they could make another Blue Archive thats their own. A game that's unique enough from BA tho? I do wonder how different it could've been. I, and many others i assume, would've given project kv a chance, but that isn't gonna happen unfortunately. Hope the new game they make is good enough.
Going to be hard to recover from such bad publicity even before launching their first official game. They'll probably continue on future projects, but most likely under a new brand/studio.
This game is no where near complete never mind even remotely playable. A PV means nothing other that a concept of a game in the works. You of all people should know that specially when there isn't even a hint of a release date announced.
Maybe just maybe... maybe like Nexon, or someone related to, able to embrace the concept and idea of Project KV as a side project or spin-off maybe like alternte universe or timeline or whatever, just like how mihoyo did since GGZ, HI3, till HSR which basically kinda similar games since the three are all about Honkai... and I can see Project KV and Blue Archive are all about students with halos, just need to expland the lore or something to somehow connect the student-with-halos concept.
The cool thing about all of this is that it made me realize I wasn't really having fun with BA so thank you for saving me from gacha hell, KV. I will just enjoy the 😭😭😭 with fanarts and doujins

Like even Azur lane knows that the only thing to "copy" is the concept. all their characters and game design turns out very different than kancolle, and now AL is bigger than kancolle.
It should be noted Mitsukiyo is a freelance musician, even for all their Blue Archive songs, and is not directly tied to Project KV like the other three who left Nexon were.
Regardless of the drama surrounding the game and the developer departure from blue archive, I think the game would have done better as an official prequel to blue archive, one that could more deeply explain the origin of the world and the halos. In another world both games coexisted in peace, unfortunately that isn't this one. I'm still just hoping that blue archive doesn't take too bad of a hit from the loss of talent.
I am very interested with Project KV, the competition also helps a lot in this industry. It would be very sad if it was canceled, I hope they will try to make something more original
If you actually look at a lot of the Korean comments, a lot of them are actually happy and laughing at this happening. Some of their comments are pretty brutal towards KV. I guess in the context of all the speculations, it kind of makes sense why they would be angry.
As a Korean yes this is true. And I honestly think they deserve it. There is a lot going on about it, and KVs are pretty terrible people. I feel bad for the ex-BA illustrators that fall for his lies and now lost the job. I can’t say much as I am not super fluent with English

A great disappointment that former devs would make something lacking inspiration as their first project. Although I believe in a just punishment for poor decisions I think there should be room for amnesty. It's not something they'll get immediately, but if they sincerely and genuinely work on an original idea I am willing to support them.
There's nothing wrong with paying homage to one or two impressive aspects of other games. However, if several such homages are 'obviously reminiscent of a specific game', we would call it plagiarism. For example, I presented a project on developing a new game. And if the stage of the game is a dream world, a city destroyed by an epidemic that causes people to drink blood and go crazy, the last boss is a moon god, and all the doll-like elements that help the player appear, then I think the whole world It will receive deserved criticism from Bloodborne fanboys.
The team has fire emblem fans, and they went the dark fe route where the og producer left and tried making an fe 2.0 and got shut down and 100% shut out from fe. Honestly i love BA cuz of the colourful, unique character designs, KV had none of that. None of characters popped out to me like BA girls did, so it could never be a true BA competitor starting out so bland.

It looked like a copy of BA, but that is not the problem because you can't own an idea (Metroidvania is a genre because there are thousands of copies of metroid/castelvania), nexon doesnt own the halo concept, nexon doesnt own the highschool-girls concept because both of those are just ideas. if nexon is involved there must be a serious reason (code stolen, backgrounds stolen, OST stolen, etc.) if not... well i dont know what could be the reason for not releasing the game, maybe lack of funds or investors (the game is not finished and they just have a demo/beta, idk). whatever the reason idk how to feel: "look this game exists" oh, is it going to be jp, global or both? "nvm the project is cancelled", oh ok...

This news is VERY disappointing. This game looked to have more fan service than Ba and I was really excited about that. I also loved the rural Japanese setting. Such a shame they felt the need to cancel altogether. I feel like if they just didn't do halos, and just waited a couple more months to announce it, it would have been much better received.
Not only halo thighy, from prologue story kinda similar to BA and the planet have some kinda ring like in BA. So not surprised if nexon try to sue them
