Hi Alvin, I just took on a role as Project Coordinator in healthcare. The catch is, there is not a PM to follow. I’m literally trying to figure it all out.

@MegaFaith25, first and foremost, congrats on landing the Project Coordinator role, that's awesome! If there isn't a PM to follow in your current role, then I'd encourage you to invest into books and other training, and also to watch videos on my RU-vid Channel, as I"ll be sharing a lot more advice about my own career path as a PM, and hopefully, you'll be able to resonate and apply this to your own career, so you don't make the same mistakes that I've made when I was starting out. Even though there isn't a PM to follow in your organization, that also means there's a lot of untapped opportunity to grow there. As you figure out processes and tools to use, you can leverage the results you've driven in your first 6ish months to show the results to your manager, and talk about how you'd like to progress, so you can be best positioned for a job promotion and/or pay increase in the upcoming year. Hope this helps out, and don't forget, you can do it!

Alvin in any industry before joining the company as engineer how to identify pain points or concerns of our boss/recruiters before interview or after it so i can position myself as solution to those problems ? How to use fear or loss aversion to improve our impact and success rate..

Great question, here's what I've done in the past - I would actually interweave this question while the hiring manager is interviewing me, so it feels more like a conversation, and so I can understand how I can position myself as the best candidate *during* the interview. Emphasis on the *during* part. Before, I used to ask that at the end of the interview, but I've learned to "flip the switch" and ask these types of questions while I'm being interviewed. Hell yes!! I'm an industrial engineer now and I'm a project manager. I have 6 projects now that I manage. That's like asking can you become a six sigma black belt.
