Love the contrast between this version and the wooden original, excited to see how it’ll look with the hardware fitted!

Thanks mate! Would've been awesome to still have the first one and have them side by side :D

Looking forward to the final part. Really interesting to see how it's developed from the original with the wood crescents. Very inspirational.

Now this is a colour palette right up my street. I hope the Eisball and coolant will be blue this time! Stunning work, beautiful contrast to the warmth of Onda V1's wood. The only thing I'd do differently would be to use black screws for the acrylic mounting. I know you're not aiming for an invisible floating aesthetic, but the steel screws makes it obvious the acrylic moons are bolted to supports. I think black screws wouldn't make that fact so immediately obvious, so you're automatically drawn to look more closely at the build to see how it's assembled.

I was thinking more of a clear coolant and blue lighting, especially since everything is colour neutral so it becomes very versatile with RGB! But good call on the mounting screws, might be worth a try, and an easy fix too in case it does look better!

amazing work Alessandro! its coming together so beautifully. the tolerances between the acrylic and aluminium parts look perfect, and it's much nicer even than the sum of it's individual parts suggested. you have such a good eye for these subtleties. like you said, the slightly dampened reflections on the aluminium and the translucence of the acrylic make the whole thing look iridescent and ethereal. absolutely stunning, definitely even better than i was expecting. i still think dressing up the eisball as a full moon could look really cool. if you want to try it out i can 3d print the lithophane dome for you and send it, i'd just need the dimensions of the eisball hemispheres. the files are available all over, including the original source on the NASA site i believe, so theres nothing to it. instead of the space theme i'm now getting more of a samurai showdown in the moonlight vibe though, or a sasuke uchiha style. either way i just love it, and i'm very tempted to copy you :-P keep it up dude! this is 100% bitech quality. Alex being gone is a tough change, but you'll win over the doubters in no time. the effort really shows.

That aluminium finish is just high tolerance, machine finished plate. When it's machined giant face mills are used that produce that effect.

Looking awesome! A tip for the video presentation, there is not really a need to tell us what you're about to do if there is a montage of it following. It would make the video feel a bit snappier if you just show what you're doing with the montage right away (after the introduction maybe) and then just talk about your experience after (as you did nicely in this video).

'Case' looks amazing, but dude you look knackered! Get some rest!
@ExploreModding
@ExploreModding 3 года назад
Thanks dude! Unfortunately it's not about rest, it's my thyroid. I've been dealing with hyperthyroidism for the past five years, and a few months ago I took on the radioiodine therapy to eliminate it. Its actually kicked in about a month ago or so and threw me in heavy hypthyroidism, which causes me extreme tiredness and this beaten look on my face (bloated eyelids, eyebags, etc.). I started the counter-treatment this week so hopefully it will make an effect sooner than later :D

So the creator of this channel really walked away from it to have someone else take over? I guess I can do the same, give up my subscription for someone else to take over. smh
@ExploreModding
@ExploreModding 3 года назад
Yep, you can! Crazy isn't it? :D Thing is, the channel is called Bit-tech, Alex started the channel but it was never *his personal* channel. During its life, the channel has actually seen a few different faces that took care of review videos, and that alone should explain it. Now Alex moved on his actual personal venture with YT and career in general, and Bit-tech hired me to take his role. I understand that seeing such a drastic change on a channel can be very underwhelming, but a company, which Bit-tech is, will naturally see changes in its staff, same goes for YT hosts, because we're staff too, it's not like "I took over", otherwise I wouldn't even be here commenting from my personal account in the first place. Personally, I think Bit-tech subs should take this whole thing as a fresh start, and not as a takeover. I'm obviously not as experienced as Alex, especially in terms of video production, but I've already been working my butt off to make this work, and I'm aiming to get the channel up the same level you guys grown used to.
