INTRODUCTION
Microsoft introduced the world to Microsoft Project back in the 80s. Throughout time, they have evolved it into a sophisticated cloud-based Project & Portfolio Management system, and it is now a full-featured system called Microsoft Project Online.

Nice informative video, but the music is just awful, and gives me stess! I had to stop midway because of the music, which is such a shame.

Sorry about that. Unfortunately, once you've made a mistake with a music selection, there isn't a way to change it or even tone it down. At least, not that I'm aware of. All part of a learning process as we create more videos.

You NEED to get rid of the background pulsing music. It makes it painful to listen and it's very distracting

Thanks for the feedback. Getting the music right is very hard to do. Picking it, editing it to the right length, and getting the volume right are all ongoing challenges. What works for one video, doesn't seem to work for another. And, once you've published it, you can't go edit the video further. It's an ongoing process to improve. We appreciate your feedback.

@@thomassoule2559 - I know, I know. Sorry. We created the video and it all sounded good. But, released it into the wild and found out it isn't so good. This drives me a bit crazy now because there isn't a way to fix it once the video is published (as far as I can tell). Our skills with Microsoft Project are much better than our skills with RU-vid. :)

Kind of, yes. Project Online and Project for the web each have their own strengths and weaknesses. You need to evaluate each solution based on your needs.

Hi Filip - Thanks for the comment. I wish I could edit the music out. Once it is posted, it's posted, and I don't think I can fix it. This is a "live and learn" moment for video editing.

Are there any safeguards in Project for the web that prevent team members from deleting tasks? I'd like to restrict it so that only the Project owners can delete tasks. I can't find any online help about this. If it's not possible to do this, is there an audit trail which records who deleted a task? And is there a means of restoring a deleted task? I know that Planner doesn't have any of these controls (which makes it unusable for us). I'm hoping that Project, as a paid app, has better management tools, but am starting to worry that this isn't the case.

There aren't any permissions or controls like that in Pftw. That is the double-edged sword of Pftw and co-authoring. Co-authoring is great from the perspective of enabling a group of people to collaborate together on creating a schedule. But, it is risky from the perspective of if you have one person who doesn't know what they are doing, they can quickly damage the schedule. For complex or high-risk schedules, the more traditional Project Online still is a better scheduling engine. for simple and low-risk schedules, Pftw is an interesting solution to try.

Hi there - For Microsoft Project Online, the "Project Web App" component all works inside the browser. You would need to use a Windows Emulator to run the Microsoft Project Professional (desktop client) for any sophisticated scheduling. For Project for the web, it is 100% web-based. All you need is a browser and you can run it anywhere.

Thanks Nedhir. The vast majority of viewers agree with you. :) Unfortunately, after you publish a video, you can't alter the music. It's a "live and learn" thing.
