It is time for a new display aquarium here at Charterhouse HQ!
After a little back and forth we settled on a new Red Sea Reefer G2 display aquarium, and thought, why not create a video series, sharing with you guys the selection, build, scape, fill and stocking of the aquarium? So we introduce PROJECT REEFER.
Join us for Part 1, where we talk through the range of Red Sea aquariums available, why we choose the 425XL and watch us build the cabinet ready for the next stage - EQUIPMENT!

This is perfect. I've been looking at getting the XL 425 G2 Deluxe for my next aquarium. It's in the plan for when we move soon. It'll also be running the whole RedSea system. Their app is fantastic and I recommend anyone thinking of going down this route to get one. My last Reefer 250 in the concrete finish was from you guys, and I've bought a fair bit when my tank was running from Charterhouse, and will continue to do so 👍🏻 Looking forward to seeing this build progress, and see what trouble I'll be getting myself into 😉🤣 Keep the updates coming team! 👌🏻🔥

I’ve got the original 425XL it’s amazing to see all the improvements that have been made on the new series. The Red Sea team definitely took the criticisms of the older models to heart. I do love a good build series, excited to follow along! 🐠🪸

I just purchased the red sea XL 525 G2 Started putting the cabinet together and was wondering if I should’ve had an extra H1/H2 brace leftover?

I think deluxe are overpaid.I bought reefer 625 XXL g2 for 3000 euro .skimmer,pump and Light another 2000 euro.Price for deluxe starting over 5000 only for tank and Lights.

how did you install the ball head into the white / black feet ?

Hi, we used a small rubber mallet to get the ball in the socket.

We are still discussing equipment but its looking like a full Red Sea set up. Any suggestions?

I would decide if you’ll be running a reefmat first and then size a skimmer to that later on. I have a reefmat 500 running on a new reefer 350 build and even without a skimmer I already have to dose no3 and po4 as the RM alone strips the tank 😂
