Actually yes, ExtremeRC4x4 decided to move on, the owner is well just decided to do something else. One of the reasons I wanted to bring these kits to life is he was one of the only people doing trailing arm conversion kits
Dudes that were hating just two years ago are now posting Rc content. Totally get it. It's fun and for those that can't afford baller full size rigs we can at least enjoy finishing builds and learning. 👊👍
I was gifted a RTR nitro rc car as a kid 23 year ago so I’ve built a few cars before I built my first rc car a couple of years ago. I don’t think one can replace the other imo, both are hobbies/passions in their own right. Driving either the full size or rc car after mods give me similar kinds of satisfaction and excitement. Miniature things overall are super cool.
Hey man, I just ordered the trailing arm Kit. I haven't caught up with you in a while but I'm glad you're selling these kits. I just did a sick Losi Hammer Rey build and need to get it uploaded to the channel. I'm looking forward to this build!
Yah buddy, totally remember chatting while back on the baja and studio lights. Cancled your first order and will be shipping your parts today USPS priority. On a side note I got some prototype frame rails I would like to get put in the wild. Your building SCX10 right? I'll keep in touch next week or so 👊
@@DoubleClutchProductions Yup; SCX10ii. I thought I had scored the ibeam kit but it was out of stock. I left my order in place and now I'm going to have to wait until the next shipment. 😞
@IROC-RC word, so many people have reached out asking how to get those kits. I smell discontinued stink around the corner. Cool trick, you can swoop the parts individually from horizon in stock last time I checked. The only downside is that Proline is shady smart and forces you to get all the parts just to complete the front end, and it's more than the kit, lol. I would swoop em if you can, just like the prerunner fenders. I suspect the intellectual property of the beams was most likely taken from a full-size truck without authorization, similar to the prerunner fenders...... Your kit shipped today USPS priority 👊 hit me up anytime if you have a questions. Appreciate the support
I've never seen anything like it in rc here in Brazil, of course I'm still crawling with my first 1/12 plastic, what a beautiful thing, what scale perfection
Just got my SCX kit yesterday! Packaging was awesome! Battery mount fit great and adds a bit of uptravel. I'll put link mounts on as soon as I ger my Yeti links. Awesome job Doubleclutch!!!
Yah buddy, great to hear some of the first feedback besides testers. Awesome dude. I'll have a video on all the details very soon. Appreciate the support. Hit me up if you have any questions. 👊👍😎
This was so satisfying to watch! Short and simple explanations, editing was done very well, and the music wasn’t overbearing and you’re not yelling into the mic. My love for rc trucks and fine quality video editing makes me happy. Definitely getting a sub from me man! Plus, love the truck!
Man you really get into it!! At times I think I’m pretty sweet by changing some parts but you take it to a whole new level!! Just wondering how long did it take you to do all this?
I struggled to get my new injora steering servo and injora steel drive shafts on my trx4m f-150 the other day and this guy is over explaining weight ratios..... specific weight oil to run in your shocks.... specific springs and angles to run multi link suspension set ups 😯😲 I'm impressed and intimidated all at the same time. Guess I'll subscribe to get some ideas for my next truck I'm getting next week a Traxxas 1/10 scale bronco crawler 💯
Been waiting a long time for these, I had some insider info. They are the only beams and I'll take em. Just seen associated has pre orders open for the new IFS2? 👊😎👍
It's one of the coolest Pre Runners on RU-vid! I just admire it, the work and effort definitely shows! 👌I'm still working away on my scratch build prerunner, such cool trucks.
@DoubleClutchProductions most definitely dude! I'm looking forward to seeing more of this truck and future content. I buit my own beams and swingset from scratch, got myself a Tig, and started learning. Pertty proud of how it's looking. Trying really hard, I have a build video on my channel of my progress to date. Got some veiws with is nice.
@DoubleClutchProductions I bet you are brother! weather permited but also the holidays we had to enjoy ! Merry Christmas and happy new year ! Like to see another live stream with SBG
@@DoubleClutchProductionsnice man. You pnw? How much did you spend on these builds? I would love to have one of these to match my real life truck 🥲 98’ 3rd gen 4runner. But no one makes that body, only land cruiser.
@jvogler_art4708 PNW👊yah wish they made more bodies, we had rigs or wanted rigs at some point so it's fun to explore your creativity in this scale. I'd love to see more OBS Era bodies come through. 👊👍
@jvogler_art4708 lol these trucks are spending done right. $400-$600 minus the actual truck. I've had my scx10ii for years, was $299 back in the day, you can still find em on Ebay just have to hunt. 👊👍
Mmm nice work, strong work man that is a great RC you really kept an open mind pulling parts from different kits and models. I remember when i had a Yeti rwd i wished i opened the diff up
@munkeynutzmcgraw4680 You can purchase these through PayPal, links on my RU-vid. I've working hard to get this video up that will go into all the details on these kits and the install
Yo man! I love the videos. And happy new years. I was just hoping you could do anything or return to the losi baja rey build. Not the 2.0 though. The better King shocks version. I'd just love to see it!
Really like this one that motor in front looks sick and love the body by the way happy new year i hope your dreams come truth !A darle con todo este año!
Lots of great tips in this video. Its weird that prerunner-style trucks aren't more popular but maybe this Proline kit is a sign that the tide is turning. Crawlers are boring, there I said it. lol.
@@DoubleClutchProductions I’ve been a huge fan ever since the first prerunner video with the outlaw front end! Made want to get my own outlaw. It’ll probably be my next truck.
I dont have a scx10 but I might just have to buy a kit one of these days and build a fresh one with your trailing arm kit 😭 truck turned out super sick!
@alejandromun6445 check my channel for the most recent shorts video. Also click on the community tab and see my recent posts. Have full chassis kits, full frame rails with a rear dual shock. Element Enduro 313 and 325 and Axisl Scx10ii 313. I am also going to offer a Element chassis with the front end setup for the Proline twin I beam kit 👊😎hit me up if you have any questions
@@DoubleClutchProductions your enduro chassis kit with the dual shocks and the proline I beams is EXACTLY what im looking for! I want a fresh build and I see the axial ii kits are discontinued 😭 so whenever they’re ready im ready to place an order or two!😂
@alejandromun6445 Excellent! Please stay tuned! Chassis kits should be here in a few days. I'm building the hardware kits tonight! Very soon brother. Hope you have a good weekend!
The reverse akerman steering was intentional to help mitigate under steer caused from having a locked rear diff(most common configuration on SCX10's) it does look a bit strange though
I wish I would have gotten into more in hindsight. It sounds like I'm promoting the Ackerman but I only hinted at with a proper setup, then explained. Glad you picked up on that, like your style. 👊👍😎
Controversial right? Lol, rotational weight is a whole different important aspect to the science. Axle weights help keep the super light weight axle planted on the ground to help for traction. Full size fabricated off road housings are heavy compared to a 1/10 scale plastic one. If youu Google sprung vs unsprung weight for wheels and tires its amazing the ratio of forces per lb of weight that goes into the shocks. Everything is a trade off, without axle weights, it would work better through the whoops in theory but lack traction in loose sand and dirt. In my case all I have is sand and my 2wd trucks get better traction with added axle weight. 👊
@@DoubleClutchProductions If you want better traction, use a different tire thread pattern,or cut one transversal tire thread line in an alternate pattern.,one cut,one stock. Rotational weight will reduce your power on acceleration, but increase stability on higher speed, like a longitudinal gyro, and temper longitudinal oscillation since the mass is increased on the corners. Reducing unsprung weight will help to improve shocks reactivity, since less mass will can accelerate and deccelerate faster. But adding axle weight and reduce wheel weight are complete contradictions as i understand, both are unsprung, and rotationnal mass is also unsprung mass here. You better inprove tire traction, and reduce unsprung mass the most you can,and get the most traction with your shocks by increasing rebound speed,or a more balanced weight distribution with half the weight on the rear axle. Are you sure the lack of traction is not caused by the slow suspension response ? its geometry does not help to get reactivity,it's a huge lever compared to a strut/wishbone. You need minimum weight with that long levers.
@michaelovitch I go over a lot of this in the video. Your contradicting the books and research that I am referencing. The plastic axle housing with the added weight in my experience is closer to a real world fabricated axles, with light weight housings on these rc trucks after a few whoops it starts to pack because of the limitations in rc shock rebound tuning. The added weight is controversial, keep in mind I've tested these trucks with and without axle weights. Why I say it's controversial is its easy to blanket a topic with right and wrong but without testing and experience were just reading books and regurgitating proven science. 👊
Thanks buddy. It is the stock scx10ii trans with the 17 tooth pinion. Wheelspeed does also come from the rear ring gear that is 24t. Time will tell if it will hold up but seems good so far
Weight biased is measured from center being 50/50. Old school BMWs used to have close to a 50/50 making them super balanced and excellent handling cars. Desert racing you want more weight over the rear hence 60/40 rear biased
Hey man I was going to see about ordering the trailing arm relocation mounts along with the battery mount. I think I’m ready to start my pre runner build
Yah buddy, links on my RU-vid to paypal. Pretty easy setup, you'll need yeti length arms, Element battery tray and some 5 inch shocks. Hit me up of you have any questions 👊
Awesome, thanks for the input man! I’ll submit an order today! I’m going to be starting this build from scratch, would you recommend the axial chassis or element enduro? My plan was to go ifs or I beam front and then yeti style rear. I also wonder would this be possible to run on the rc4wd blazer body? It’s got a pretty short wheelbase at 11.4in so it would need quite a bit shorter trailing arms
@kadenmaxwell8631 Right on brother, I used to think Axial was superior. I'd go Element unless your doing a twin I beam build. Element enduros are easier to find, get parts and are a tad more durable. Nothing wrong with either 👊hit me up anytime with any questions
@@DoubleClutchProductionsGotcha, that’s kind of what I’ve been hearing. Do you know if the I beam kit will work in place of the ifs that comes on the element trailrunner? I kind of want want to run ifs while the I beam kit is on back order :/
Hey man, love the build! Do you have a website for the mounts i can look at? Ive been considering getting a scx10.2 and doing a prerunner build like this after i get paid at the end of the month and i really want to do a trailing arm rear setup!
Yah buddy. Currently sold out! I will have these available in about a month or so. New designs are coming. Moving to a new spot so everything is boxed up. 👊stay tuned
How did you remove the front battery tray? I was trying to figure that out, but part of the tray is connected permeability to the setup. It's right where the Iveam kit installs to the frame.
I actually trimmed it to fit my setup. This is a scx10ii cherokee so it's a different battery tray than the scx10. Do you have a scx10 or scx10ii. I heard from a few homies that it needs the scx10ii battery tray.
Wow this is a sick build, I’ve been wanting to do the I beam conversion on my 10ii but wasn’t sure it would actually handle like a pre runner, this looks like it will, are your custom conversion parts available for sale?
The proline twin beams are promising. The proline back half, trailing arms, mounts, battery kit is a little underwhelming especially on stock length crawler shocks. You can purchase these parts through PayPal with the links on my RU-vid👊😎
That’s the difference between the scx10ii and the scx10iii, I can only find the scx10iii in the builders kit I don’t wanna buy a new rig and take a bunch of stuff off I’m not gonna use
To be honest I'm not totally sure. I know they went a diff way in almost all the parts. I see SCX10ii come up on Ebay all the time and in decent shape. Not to mention all the scx10ii parts after I did this video are out of stock or discontinued. Sucks for sure. The Element Enduro is a good option but requires some custom stuff to get them beamed. 👍
@@DoubleClutchProductions I like the enduro I’m just not super impressed with the performance of the a arms on it they need to make a center mount kit with longer arms
@icebox829 I think people miss understand the performance of these trucks. If you had a center mount you would have to cut the frame rails to accommodate. I just got a IFS 2 kit and it's leaps ahead of the ifs 1. I proved the ifs1 Is functional and durable to be enjoyed.
This is a super noob question but what’s the most economical way to start building something that can handle sand dunes like this? I’m inspired to start building something now lol
If it's your first RC I recommend the Losi Baja Rey 2.0, this video is pretty detailed on the parts needed and the setup I run. If you need some parts hit me up too. 👊
