Project: Snowblind is a first-person shooter video game developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Eidos Interactive. It was originally conceived as a multiplayer-focused third game in the Deus Ex series, Deus Ex: Clan Wars, but after the less than expected commercial performance of Deus Ex: Invisible War, it was decided to set the game in its own universe.[1] Nevertheless, it remains a spiritual sequel to Deus Ex and retains many visible and conceptual links to its progenitors.
In Project: Snowblind, the player assumes the identity of Nathan Frost, a soldier in an international peacekeeping force known as the Liberty Coalition. After being critically injured during an enemy attack, Frost is implanted with experimental nano-technological augmentations and enhancements, turning him into "the soldier of the future". Frost must use his new powers to help lead the Coalition to victory against overwhelming odds.

You can definitely tell by the black bars and the shield effect that this game was designed with 4:3 resolutions in mind.

The PS2 seemed to be the main platform since even the Xbox port's controls are clearly designed for 4 shoulder buttons and the game runs in the same lower resolution as the PS2 port. Neither console offers widescreen either so not shocking the PC port got the low end of the stick

Gggmanlives Since your recent reviews are console port games any chance for you to review Serious Sam The Next Encounter? I'm playing it right now on the newest Dolphin emulator and it works great at max settings 60fps with no problem. I wouldn't recommend the PS2 version as its gimped.

I think he tends to be a little more forgiving towards "cult" FPS than mainstream reviewers are. Though in this case, it looks like the game is just "OK" and doesn't do anything particularly well (or poorly).

Interesting how Lord Mandalore saying this game was mediocre and you saying this game is great illuminates your difference in preference for games. Not saying one is better than the other, but it helps showing what you look for in games.

Need to give it another try later. The cheesy dialogue aside, the gunplay was lackluster and the constant headshots on the hardest difficulty a pain in the ass.

When I got this on ps2 back in the day for 20$ I couldn't believe how good it was let alone how few people knew it existed. And it was probably one of the best developed ps2 online experiences that no one played

I saw this game at Circuit City when it first came out. I remembered seeing it in Playstation magazine and thought it looked cool, but it was a new game so it was like $40 or $50. I saw a copy that had a price sticker on it that said "$2.99" I took it to a checkout and told the person working that I found this in the new games that were $40 but it says it's $2.99, and they said "Huh.. That's a mistake, but we have to sell it for what the price tag says" So I have cool memories of playing this brand new game that I only paid $2.99 for. And I really enjoyed it!

This video may be old but damn am I happy to find it. I played Project Snowblind when I was younger so much. It was the only game I had that wasn't scratched up for my PS2. It must have played it at least 50 times. Doing challenge runs before I even knew what that was. Never heard anyone talk about this before.

Playing this on a console was difficult. I remember a friend of mine struggling while I finished it on PC in one sitting. Back then I had little else to do and FPS games were my domain. There are a few FPS games that will never be re-released for digital platforms due to draconian copyright rules.

Absolutely amazing game. Not having Xbox live or PSN live when I was growing up, I would only be able to play campaign games for a majority of my first years gaming. I probably beat this game 10 times. I remember going into Game Crazy (RIP) and always asking if there was a sequel coming out.

James Hong was not just Lo Pan in Big Trouble in Little China, he was also Mr. Ping in Kung Fu Panda, Chi-Fu in Mulan and Hannibal Chew in Blade Runner, but I recognize him most as the English dub voice actor for Ogata and Dr. Serizawa (played respectively by Akira Takarada and Akihiko Hirata) in Godzilla, King of the Monsters! (1956) and the titular character in The Human Vapor (played by Yoshio Tsuchiya).

This was one of the first FPS games I played when I was younger, and my introduction to the cyberpunk genre which I'm now in love with. It's such a shame though that the autoaim can't be turned off, cause I really can't play mouse and keyboard with autoaim in any game. Feels janky. Despite that though, this game holds a huge amount of nostalgia for me, and I really do enjoy the combat in it. Eventually I'll plug in a controller and see if the game feels better like that. Fingers crossed this review sparks someone to mod out the autoaim!

Great video. Another game that was unfortunately underrated is Cold Winter. Cold Winter had a good story, fun gameplay that was pretty top notch for it's time, an awesome selection of weapons, plenty of Soldier of Fortune style gore, and a good enjoyable multiplayer mode which utilized the tech at the time very well. If you haven't played it yet, definitely check it out. You may even decide to do a video review after playing.

I remember I rented this game at blockbuster when I was super young and played it on my playstation until the very last day till we had to return it and I loved it but I could never remember the name of it...I just always remember it having the word "snow" in it.😂😂😭😭
