Chuck, thank you for sharing. I have limited knowledge but started collecting Losi with my first JRX2 that i still own today. Watching your channel is a pleasure and I'm able to share it with my daughter. Your knowledge is incredible. For a novice like me it's great to watch.
My favorite chassis of all time. I bought a Rally Weapon for kicks when Losi put those out and loved it. Ebayed street weapon suspension and killer conversion had a blast. I was racing a 2wd Associated b3 at the track and decided to race the 4wd guys as well so I sourced parts and built a short wheelbase XX4 out of a rally weapon, all graphite and a 9 turn modified. Absolutely destroyed everyone racing their hot new xxx4 World's editions and Yokomos. It really made some hotshot drivers very angry when I would reiterate they were being consistently smoked by a Rally Weapon. Eventually the drive belt situation forced that chassis and all its rally/onroad/buggy parts into a box into a closet. I ended up selling everything on Ebay about 8 years ago and I'm now heartbroken after seeing in your video there's a way to now get belts. Great videos man thanks for recognizing that this is a very special design and keeping it alive!
Love that story! Yeah man, that platform was really adaptable to SO many forms of RC racing!! I may have access to a NIB rally weapon if you're interested. Thanks for posting!!
Chuck, You are such a humble guy with a sincere passion for this hobby. I love your channel. I've been into rc since the early 90's and was always an associated and tamiya kind of guy. I always loved the look of Losi but never owned one. Looking at your collection inspired me to buy a xxt graphite +, I've been fixing it up with NOS ebay parts. Much love from Dayton Ohio friend please continue making videos.
Thanks so much for your post!! I'm obviously a huge Losi fan but I really do love all vintage R/C. Good luck on your XXT G+ build! Let me know if you need anything- I have a lot of parts resources. Thanks again for watching!
Once again I appreciate the fact that someone still truly enjoys what the sport really means and what it Has always meant it doesn’t matter the amount of money spent it matters the amount of fun put into your efforts thank you for all you do
This is a great project, appreciate you documenting this. I'm in the process of building a street weapon up myself. Interested in your tyres, what are they? are they 24mm or 26mm? thanks!
Are you running both of the Aluminum shafts in the drive train to minimize mass? I see you have the Aluminum CVDs. Are your outdrives Plastic with the Metal Rings? I'm running Barracuda Titanium outdrives and Aluminum CVDs with the pins pushed out and replaced with weed trimmer line.
Hello, yeah I've heard of that trimmer wire trick- low wear & low cost! I do have all aluminium layshafts in the car, yeah. I run the plastic outdrives with titanium saver rings. Such a fun car.
I have both a Street weapon and a Jrx pro...mostly unused. It would be greate to revive them but seems complicated for a newbie un rc. Just got discouraged back in those days to club race as a teenager. Excuse my english, I am a french speaking person. Thanks for the videos and advices.
Thanks for sharing your story! Thos are both great cars! Running older cars today can be hard to do. Just keep them in the best shape you can and enjoy owning them!!
