I want to take mine apart and restore it like this. How did you know how to put it all back together? Is there a guide or a manual somewhere I can get for a beginner?
Zac Staylon Buy yourself the Clymer manuel or get a copy of it online. like 99% is explained, from taking the bike apart and putting it all back together. complete overhaul! I also took pictures of every major step in the stripdown, this will save you alot of confusion and time. good luck!
Mooie vid!. Heb net met een paar maatjes mijn 2KF '89 zwart gereviseerd. Nieuwe 5e, 4e en 3e versnelling, kleppen gepolijst. Loopt weer als een zonnetje, alleen met een Sebring uitlaat, dus geeft "volwassen" klappen.
Leuk om te horen, Ik moest zelf ook een van de versnellingen vervangen, daar zaten putjes in, de rest was nog in goede staat. Al met al zit er veel werk in, maar is het zeker waard! Ik moet zeggen mijn Laser Produro (geen E versie) met DB killer is nog steeds erg luid, maar er komt wel een mooi geluid uit! ;-)
It's going to take you alot of time, but it's definitely worth it! The engine ran around 25xxx on the tachometer. But after we disassembled the engine we saw some markings from the former owner(s), so some parts were already restored before. I wish you good luck! p.s. the flywheel was a pain in the ass to remove, be sure to have the right tools ;)

Hi, great job! My blue 1990 2kf is a beauty as well and i'm planning a few works. One question: have you had the frame repainted or did you get a new one? About the exhaust: try Arrow. It looks and sounds great! Congrats again.
Hi Andy. I sandblasted the entire frame and most of the parts. Then i had it powdercoated afterwards. It really looks like new again :). Thanks for your compliment! And about the exhaust.. Maybe in the future i'll try it!
I want to try to do something like this ...I have enough money and time but I am missing knowledge ...does it worth the risk ? (in some difficult situations I can call some mechanic friends to help me )
It's a nice and fun project to do, very satisfying if your bike is finished! but i'd suggest you to get some help with the engine like I did. not only for the tools, also for the way you need to replace the parts like bearings and timings of the gears etc. Good luck!:)
+Sten Veen it was exactly in my mind ...I was going to buy a camera so I will keep a track of my moves ...Now I need to find my project bike ...something cheap so I won't regret much of the chance of failure ...
Hi Martin, I think the laser exhaust looks great. But about the sound, I accidently bought a street illegal version. So i had to ajust the echaust with a DB killer. Now the sound is amazing! Sure, it is loud. But acceptable. Else you just need to buy a legal version of the exhaust.

Dirlene peixoto no meu caso comprei sempre via internet, ou via Ebay (peças dos USA e Inglaterra) ou no site de lojas (neste caso me lembro da KEDO na Alemanha).
