Ive built a mostly aluminum kraton myself, i just realized all i need is that motor esc set up and i can build the stock kraton again and have 2 lol. Builds look great cant wait to see how those belted tires perform.
Thanks for the vid. Just put these on my Kraton 6s v5. Haven't had her out yet. 😁 Long term review? Any issues with gearing/differential with the wider, grippier tread?
How do you like them vs the 3.8 Trenchers on your 6s Kraton? Do they ballon like the Trenchers and how did you vent them? Last but not least what did you do in min 9:50 when you were shaving them off with a knife?
Is that a Kraton v5? You got the RPM front bumper on wrong. You are suppose to remove the OEM bumper and use RPM front bumper part #81812 for the v5s which have an extension plate that bolt on to the red rectangle part after removing the OEM front bumper. If you turn the Kraton upside down you will see the RPM front bumper plate is not sitting flush when you screwed it down. Removing the OEM bumper and using the correct RPM front bumper will sit flush on the bottom chassis plate.
These are NOT too heavy. I have been running these on my Kraton for 6 months . Ive tried belted trenchers which are way too heavy. But these are just in the acceptable weight range i feel. They havent caused me any trouble with the diffs stripping. The only downside is they do balloon alot once worn in. No good for speed runs. In the dirt they are AMAZING. The added size gives protective bounce on cartwheels too. I really reccommend these to any Kraton owner. They seem to pair up with the truck beautifully. Try them before you dis them. They stay on my Kraton. The dboots MT backflips are the only tire that would prob replace these. Great purchase dude. You wont be dissappointed
@@rccircus7271 in my experience they are. my drivetrain wears much faster if I put heavy tires on than If I don't. Also my motor is overheating constantly with the heavy tires and the battery doesn't last as long (~5min less runtime)
Many things will depend on temps. The weather, how you drive, on what terrain, what gearing you are running etc. I find a fan for the motor is a must if you bash with a larger pinion than stock or live in a warm climate. What exactly is wearing on your drivetrain dude? Have you shimmed your diffs and output gear etc ? I appreciate that we all live in different temperate zones though. I will also add (to be fair) that my Kraton is fully decked out so mine may take the lil extra weight better than a stock a arm for example. Like i said , my only issue was the ballooning after a while.
@@rccircus7271 I've noticed more wear on for example the center driveshafts of the outdrives but have also had diff issues with the larger tires. (switched back to lighter tires and the problems were gone) Yeah I do have a fan on the motor by now, thanks for the tip though!
Do you had some problems with your differential when bashing with the Badlands 3.8 belted tires? How much time do you still running without any issue? Thanks!
what wing mount are you using? i have the same set up with the jib shock towers and the metal hot racing diff housings. I'm having trouble mounting the wing mount.. any ideas...also how did these tires feel when u ran it?
I want to get a Kraton 6s, but I’m concerned with the stock chassie, do they bend as easy as some make it out to. I know there are upgrades, but that would be done at a later time for me. I don’t want to have to do a bunch of upgrades before I can use the truck.
So why did you make the video so long without a test of the tires? Are you building model cars that you can look at or so you actually run these things?
Hi Jason I have your same kraton If you don’t mind me asking what kind of Dremel tool is that I’ve been looking for a new Dremel tool mine burned out I would really appreciate it thank you
@jasonPerrin I have the same setup motor and ESC and 500k in the center is butter with the motor and ESC in my opinion! love the rig brother! You always go big keep the vids coming!
Nice. My honest opinion is that those tires are a bit too expensive, heavy and big for the Kraton 6s. I rock the stock v4 tires and I'm very satisfied with the size, grip, weight and durability of the stock tires. Running stock electronics and pinion 👍.
