Nurse JAR, thank you! I passed my written and clinicals today on my first attempt thanks to your videos. I had to rely on the internet for everything, my employer did not provide proper training. I have introduced my coworkers to your channel and they have subscribed as well. I cannot thank you enough. Took my test in Louisiana.

Thank you for the videos 🥰 My skills today were : Bedpan & Output, Footcare, and Side-lying position. I had 30 minutes and I unfortunately ran out of time. I am guessing I failed, but I will retake the exam as soon as I can and fix my nerves!

Hello Teacher Good Evening greetings from Florida Hialeah, Teacher did very well, the important thing is to follow the steps how to make a bed. Teacher, l told my classmates who took the CNA course with me, l sent them their videos and told them to sign up for their RU-vid program. That they will learn a lot tha their English is very fluent is perfectly understood. Bravissima, Ciao. Grazie.
I take my written and skills state exam this Saturday at Kingdom Healthcare Training Center in Barnesville,Ga ! I feel nervous but confident at the same time they are awesome instructors s/o to Ms.Durr & Ms.Crosby . I’ve been looking at some of your videos for extra tips so my fingers are crossed 🤞🏾 This is my first time and I’m aiming to pass both parts on the first try ‼️
@@mykellilocx992 Heyy the exam went very good! I passed both written and skills. Written part was easy just watch out for trick questions which may be a similar question to a previous one. The skills just make sure you know which materials you need for each skill, make sure you hit the main key points if you forget a step you can correct it before you say skill complete. Overall it was good plus having the two teachers I had made it even better because they made sure we all knew what we needed to know which was everything and made sure we was comfortable with each skill before the exam and willing to put in extra time with us. Do your practice test on the written and practice your skills but don't over do it.
What do you do in a situation that the patient has probably a problem with the neck and need support using a pillow. How do you handle such situations ?
@@laquannagillespie1200 hi you will do fine just try to study and watch pretend of Nurse Julie’s videos. She is very good teacher I learned so much from her. I was extremely nervous myself lol I woke up in the middle of the night worrying. What helped me was studying before I took the state test. I know you will do great!!!
@@annamorris6184 thank you so much! I have been studying and also watching nurse jar's videos im just ready to get it over with im more so nervous of the fact that i KNOW i cant mess up
Prometrics allows for gloves to stay on? My instructor said we should have 3 pairs of gloves but I don't remember if it's okay to touch the clean linen with the gloves
Hi, Alex! Good luck on your exam! Yes, my Prometric videos are good for all states that test under Prometric. I'm in Texas, as well! Let me know how you do.
I have a quick question (for Prometric) I watched almost all your videos and I cant get a clear answer. So when you're doing opening procedures, we have to raise the bed since Prometric is big on body mechanics. Do we have to wash our hands again after touching the remote? Or can we just put on gloves after touching it and get started with the skill? I'm just unsure when to exactly raise the head of the bed due to all infection control rules. Thank You!
Hi, Alexis! During Opening Procedures, you need to ensure the bed is Ina low, safe position. Once you get back to the bedside after gathering your supplies is when you will want to employ Body Mechanics by raising the level of the bed to a comfortable working height for you. No, you do not need to rewash your hands after touching the remote.
I have a cousin who never studied much, we studied together but she gives most of her time to her phone than studies after writing the CNA test last month she passed and I failed 😣, I asked her how she did it , just found out she got her help from Mr Johnson Daryl
Nurse JAR, thank you for your video. I observed that you changed the dirty items independently (pillow case, top linen separately) and I thought one need to take out all the soiled materials at once and dispose them at once before replacing with clean ones. I need your feedback on best way to deal with it. Thank you
Hi, Ebenezer! When making an occupied bed, you'll want to refrain from moving the person around too much. The underside of the soiled fitted sheet is considered "clean". So, when you partially unsecured and remove one side of it, then secure and place the fitted sheet underneath it, you'll have clean touching clean. Hope I answered your question!
0i have more supplies for this skill. I have the mattress pad bottom sheet lift sheet top sheet blanket bed spread pillow case and bath blanket 😐 it's overwhelming.
Hi, Lisa! All of those extra supplies are unnecessary, as testing candidates are required to change the fitted sheet, flat sheet, and pillowcase only. Testing requirements are totally different from how things are done in real life--testing is timed--therefore, all testable skills, except for Hand Hygiene, are abbreviated. You are having your students perform unnecessary, additional steps that will eat up their time during testing!
