Hello Dr Lee, I want to say a special Thank you for all your videos and also I passed my clinical skills last week with the help of your videos. God bless you. Amen
Thank you so much Dr. Lee! Passed my written exam last week here in Fort Worth, taking my skills the 6th of October, I've been an aide for about 8 months at a facility here, but procrastinated out of fear of the skills test, but now after watching your videos continually for the past few days, & practicing those skills correctly & not my way at my facility...I am not as nervous as I once was...I totally recommend everyone take their tests as soon as possible, & not hesitate out of fear as I did....thank you once again for everything, I know your great teaching will be with me as I test this coming Thursday morning....❤
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have been watching your videos for 3 months. I took my Prometric test on 8/12/21 and passed. Keep posting those Videos, they are awesome
Dr lee, thanks so much for your elaborate teaching on prometric skills. You re such a wonderful teacher, I watch all your videos and I passed my skill excellently this month.Thank ma
Thank you, I passed the test because of your videos. I really appreciate that you explain why something is done. In class, I memorized the steps: do A, do B, do C, do D, etc. and it got really confusing, really fast, for the longer skills. Felt like memorizing the phone book. But when I started thinking of it as "X is dirty, Y is clean, keep Z dry, etc." everything started feeling like common sense, and I didn't panic (and waste time on "corrections") if I accidentally skipped a step because precise order of steps didn't matter as long as I knew I hadn't broken any rules, all of which you explained in a way that made sense. Great videos, you saved my bacon, ty so much.
I want to thank you for all your help, I did my exam the exact same way as you show us and thanks to you I passed my NY state exam today!! Thank you so much 💓💗💛💖☺♥
@@rachanathapa1199 Hi Rachana, the exam really wasn't bad, the location i went to the Evaluator was calm and gentle so it made me less nervous. I literally said and do the same exact things Doctor Lee said and did, I copy and paste her into my exam. 🙈
Good Morning Dr. Lee ; I just wanted to tell you that yesterday Aug.8,2002 was my CNA testing both written and skills in Massachusetts. I was so nervous I because I completed my class back in JUNE 2022 and didn't want to forget my skills . I saw your videos on line and started watching every episode everyday faithfully. On testing day As I sat in the waiting area waiting for my turn to take exam. Three ladies didn't pass. . I briefly told them to look up your videos on line. Again, Thank you so much for posting these videos for everyone. God Bless....Love Maggie in MAssachusetts
Thank you Dr. Lee. Your videos helped a lot. Just had my test taken yesterday morning and I passed. I didn’t go to any class and had to challenge the test and it’s a great help to know the Prometric guidelines. Again thank you and more power.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to do this video. I feel much more comfortable about (IC). I have my test in San Marcos this Saturday and your videos have helped me review!
Good afternoon Dr. Lee ! Thank you so much for everything . I just passed my state exam today because of you. I did everything like you told us to do. Thank you so so much because i passed, this is my first time. May Gob bless you 😘😘😘😘
Hello Dr. Lee, Thanks for providing this video. I will be recertifying for my CNA license soon and this new information about the Prometric system has definitely given me confidence in being better prepared to take the exam. I appreciate your efforts in taking the time out to help upcoming nurses in the healthcare field with this valuable information.
I take my Clinical test again today. I took it almost a year ago and failed because I forgot to lay down a barrier and forgot to document the pulse rate I measured. For the last 2 weeks I have been watching your videos repeatedly. Prayers I pass today. 🤞 🙏
@@txcnaskills2599 THANKS SO VERY MUCH!!! Thanks to you and your videos I PASSED 😁 I have 2 friends that will be signing up for classes soon and I've already told them to start watching your videos and MEMORIZE THEM 😁
Hi Dr.Lee, we are so grateful for the videos that you have made! It’s been a great help to me as a teaching tool for my students. I wanted to see if you would be doing videos for oral care and feeding soon? I’ve had a couple of students who tested and they are now including those skills.
Hi Doctor Lee, thanks for sharing your videos. I will be taking my states exams this week here in Texas under prometric. I just wanted to confirm if prometric still doesn’t require elevating beds to waist level when performing skills and also locking of bed wheels? Thanks
Hello, Prometric does NOT require the student to verify the patient. You do have to know on the door and address the patient by name as a step. Therefore, just ask your partner, what is your name, before starting your skill exam.
Thanks for sharing your insight Dr. Lee. It was very insightful and educative, During the exam, are we going to be provided with the supplies or do we have to come with the supplies such as gloves and protective gown?
Hi Dr. Lee, Thank you very much for your valuable videos on TX CNA skills, Its more helpful and especially on IC. Is there anyway to follow a written exam samples/practice questions too for prometric TX CNA..please?
@@txcnaskills2599 Thank you Dr. Lee, I’m taking my skills test today, once again, your videos gave me a very strong confidence. Just one question ma’am, that after using gait belt, do we need to put that belt on the table or designated dirty area? Thanks.
Hello Lisa, Right now Prometric is not testing in Texas on Feeding, Brushing the Teeth, and Denture because of Covid. The students are told on their Authorization TO Test Letter to wear a mask during the entire time while at the testing site. Therefore, the students can't test on those skills because they will have to remove the masks. I don't know how long the rule will last in Texas.
Measuring Blood Pressure? I don't see it on the 2021 Skills Test Checklist or on any of the Prometric's videos. Will we be asked to perform this skill for the evaluator??? (other responses welcome if you know)
Hi Dr Lee, I have been watching your videos and they help me alot. I'm from the state of NY. I'll be doing my test in 7 days and I'm nervous. I really want to know if prometrics is going instruct me on when to put on gloves . I'm just thinking of touching soil linen and touching the resident or clean linen. Is that not infection prevention? Also is not raising the bed something that's expected of all students? I didn't get any skill training done at the CNA class I attended. My teacher only thought us the theory and told us to watch the youtube videos. I'm a straight A students who scored 100 in my theory tests often times and really don't want to fail my state exam. Please help me!
Hello Marlene, I will try to answer all you questions. 1. Prometrics will NOT tell you when to put on gloves. This is something you need to know based on the skill you are performing. You do need gloves on ANYTIME you are doing peri care, catheter, and emptying the drainage bag. 2. You DON'T need to raise the whole bed to your waist level. I instruct my students NOT to raise the bed during the state exam because they may get nervous and forget to put the bed back down which will make the person fail.
Hello and thank you so much for these great tutorials you are so kindly offering via you tube. I am in Florida will the testing be the same here ? I test Monday Dec 20
Hello Christina, To my knowledge, the skills are the same in Florida. Go by your state skills checklist. I will place a link below to Florida's checklist. www.prometric.com/sites/default/files/FL_CNA_ClinicalSkillsChecklist.pdf
@@txcnaskills2599 Hello Dr Lee , I passed the Florida CNA !! Thank you so much for all of your videos . You are an amazing woman!! Watching and learning from your videos made me feel more confident> This was a crucial part of testing for me, feeling confident . Can't thank you enough ! You make a difference everyday !! thank you and God Bless you
Hi Dr Lee, I have a question regarding hand washing. I know you wash your hands before and after the skill. But when you write your report do you need to wash your hands again to give them the call light? And then again to finish the skill?
Hi doctor Lee, thank you for this great information, i have a question please, i was thought after you've introduced yourself to the patient, that you have to check for the residents i.d ,before you tell the resident am going to wash my hands and get my supplies, please can you explain that 🙏, am testing next Wednesday.
Hello Lily, The state DOES NOT suggest or require the candidate to check the client's armband or any type of ID. I am posting the Prometric indirect care behaviors below. We are required to introduce yourself, tell the client what we are going to do, and to call the client by his or her name. www.prometric.com/sites/default/files/IndirectCareBehaviors.pdf
Hello doctor so I Passed my CNA course February/January however, when Covid hit the floor I wasn’t able to do I take a state test I have not had much of the hands-on clinical school practices since I’ve been home and my school was shut down. I will fairly quiet insecure lately about the skills portion of the exam since I have not been able to do any help in that practice in a long time. But I’m trying to learn as much as I can from your videos they’re very helpful. I wanted to ask you because of COVID-19 what will it be like taking the state exam would it be on a human or would it be on a dummy? Thanks 😊
Hello M Hinton, In the Skills Checklist you will be informed that some skills will be a human and other skills will be on a manikin. For example, perineal care, catheter, dressing a person with a weak arm will be on a manikin. Your school instructors should have stressed this to you.
Hello Dr lee my question is on pulling the curtain back when you are done with the skill. I wanted to know do I pull the curtain back before I wash my hands after the skill is done
Hello Jasmine, You should pull the curtain back open when leaving the client's bedside. You MUST end the skill with handwashing and then say my skill is complete.
Hi dr.lee love your videos I was wondering if we are supposed to do the 6 paper towel method when washing hands? Also when we go to get supplies do we have to give them the call light?
Hello, I have never heard of the 6 paper towel method. The state does not care when we give the client the call light for most skills. But we need to make sure the call light in in place before the end of the skill.
@@txcnaskills2599 thank you so much. I took a class and he had a lot of extra things that we really didn’t need. Your videos are straight to the point exactly like prometric. You’re a blessing to do this for people and help us better ourselves. Thank you dr.lee 👏🏽
Hi Dr Lee, have your students already tested with prometric and did you get any feedback , regarding the raising of bed when its not required but engraved in us to do? also do you know when they be testing in Texas? waiting on date for written and skills test. thank you for your patience , when explaining
Hello Raquel, My students started testing in Texas in September 2020. I teach the students not to raise the bed and they haven't had any problems. Dates are open for testing now.
Hello Jajaida, Prometric does NOT required the raising of the bed or making sure the bed wheels are locked. These behaviors are not written down as a skill step or as a part of Indirect care. Now with that being said, let me address your statement. 1. The bed will ALWAYS be in the low position and the wheels will be locked. The evaluator will ask your partner to get into the bed, put on a hospital gown, and to get under the covers. The wheels will be locked because it is a safety issue for the student. Prometric will not take the chance of letting a student get into a bed while the wheels are NOT LOCKED or UP high. The state can be sued for being unsafe while testing. 2. If a student raises the bed to his or her waist level, Prometric does not care. You should make sure that the bed is put back into the lowest position before you say "I am through with my skill". If you don't put the bed back like you found it, You will FAIL the skill because YOU would have put the client at risk of falling. 3. So, I teach my students to leave the bed height along and DO NOT touch the bed wheels during the 30-45 minutes of testing. It is not worth failing the skill over the bed height. 4. The bed curtain provides privacy and so does the sheet or bath blanket. I have never heard of locking the bed on one side to provide for privacy.
Hello Chinedu, The indirect care skills does not require gloves for hand and nail care. Gloves are not required for foot care nor the modified bath skills. You can wear gloves if you like but they are not required.
Hello Anna, I am in Houston, TX. We are not testing on the oral skills as of 7-19-2022. We are now dealing with Omicron BA 5. None of the students are going into each other's mouths.
Hi , i have a question on the gloves, on the skills using gloves does it matter at what point we put on we were shown to put on after we get water and for the skills using the water , and pt has tested it
Hello Raquel, Prometric requires us to use gloves for peri care, catheter care, and bed pan. The time for putting on the gloves are very clear in the skills instructions. Gloves should be worn before WASHING the patient. Gloves should be worn before placing or removing the bedpan. You can put the gloves on when testing the water because this is still BEFORE washing the patient.
@@txcnaskills2599 Thank you for replying,Why I asked this question is because you said we should not try adjusting the bed,So does it mean that for every feeding,Residents must be sitted
Hello, I will finally be able to take test may 12 I signed up for written only I need to refresh on skills Had couple of questions .. 1. As of now is feeding n dental care out of testing? [ on portal there is a webinar , it sounded like it was being tested? Also, they mentioned raising of bed and that the were looking-for proper body mechanics. So is it updated? Also, if we get foot care skills on test . may i wash hands after skill to continue testing? THANKS
@@txcnaskills2599 hello, the cna portal on prometric When u see a link for a webinar. Dont know if it recent but they also made it seem like the feeding n mouth care was tested? Do u know ?
@@raquelserranogarcia Hello Raquel, AT the present time (April 29, 2021) in Texas the following skills are NOT tested because the candidate or client will have to remove their face mask. We are in a COVID 19 epidemic and No ONE is expected to remove their face mask for testing in TEXAS. 1. Feeding 2. Mouth care/brushing the teeth 3. Denture care Also, none of the skills guidelines ask the candidate to position the height of the bed You will start the skill with the bed in the low position and the wheels locked. So, nothing will change with regards to the bed unless YOU unlock the bed wheels or adjust the height of the bed. I hope this helps. Take care.
Hi Dr. Lee...Program Manager for the CNA Program at Dallas College. I've reached out to you before. I've watched this indirect care video and would like to talk offline, if possible. Is there a way to connect with leaving contact info here?
Hello Jazzmin, Prometric will NOT test on the oral skills now because of COVID. All candidates are required to keep their face mask on during the entire time at the testing site.
hi on the cath care on your skills you did not remove gloves and offered the call light with gloves it that ok thanking you ahead almost done with my class only dont know when i have state test
Hello Raquel, Let me know at which point I you are referring g to. Are you asking about the call light before the client leaves the room for the patient to use the bedpan or at the end of the skill?
@@txcnaskills2599 hi i am.asking on the cath care On your video . The call light was offered wirh gloves on. Is that an acceptable practice? At the end of skill Thank you
Hello Nahim, During the COVID epidemic the student testing will NOT remove their face mask during the skills exam. Therefore, the feeding, dentures, and brushing the teeth are not given to students at this time. Thing may change in the future without notice.
@@txcnaskills2599 thank you so much!! I have my test on Wednesday and I have been studying non stop watching your videos. I’m so relief to hear they will not be testing on blood pressure as well, I was having a bit of trouble with that.

Hello Kendle, I am based in Texas. You will need to go by Prometric guidelines for your state. 4YourCNA is based out of Florida. Everything that I teach is based on Prometric guidelines for Texas. What state are you in?
@@txcnaskills2599 my question it’s in the Partial bed bath normally I use gloves. But in the demonstration Colun of standard precautions said( remove gloves if worn) it’s optional in this skil also use or not gloves?
Hello Katie, During the Prometric state exam you will be tested on 5 random skills. You will not know what three of the skills are until you enter the room to test. Two of the skills each person is tested on are handwashing and indirect care.
