I made it. This was on my test and I remembered all your strategies. Thank you SM. The emphasis “ do not put the leg back into the wash basin” “ support the foot while you wash the foot” “ make sure to wash, rinse and dry inbtw the toes” “ do not apply lotion inbtw the toes”. Your videos are top notch. Thank you for all you do. I tested in DC
I took my CNA skills test today in NC and passed!! I watched all of your videos numerous times until I knew step by step. Thank you so much for all you do!! ❤️
Our instructor said we can add an extra towel or chux to use for the CNA to kneel on to prevent infection control. Thank you for sharing. ❤️ from New Mexico! 😀

Dear nurse jar. I have a question .im live in tx. Im try to learn CNA. Does if im use gloves remove resident shoes and socks my gloves will become dirty or if im not wear gloves remove it .should i wash hands again after remove shoes and socks?
@@NURSEJAR thank you so much your videos helped me so much ! A friend of mine is taking her test September 29, 2022 and she is watching the videos also
Is putting soap on washcloth different for each skill? Because I was taught to add soap to each fold of the wash cloth especially for peri care. Does it matter how we put soap on washcloth? My Cna test is tomorrow August 30th here in Florida.
Hi, Gina! When applying soap to the washcloth, you need to ensure that the soap is applied to all areas of the washcloth. To ensure this is done, after wetting the washcloth and squeezing out the excess water, completely open the washcloth and apply soap to all areas of the washcloth. Ensure you rub the washcloth together to show you are getting the soap all over the washcloth. Then you may fold the washcloth in quarters creating the open leaves.
Hey nurse Jar. Do we only do one foot during the exam? And if we do both feet during exam should I use twice as many towels (4 small towels 2 big towels)?
In your video, you stated you were washing Mrs. Jones left foot and actually washed her right foot. I have this issue, too. I failed my 1st class test out because I had trouble flipping it around in my head.
I am taking my exam May 3. I have a knee problem that makes it difficult to get up from squatting or kneeling without use of my arms. Will I automatically fail this skill?
I am confused about the frequency of handwashing. comparing your videos to the skill videos and steps provided by my cna school, they wash only at beginning and end. in most skills you are washing when done, then again after closing the skill. is it really necessary to say washing hands after removing gloves AND just a few seconds later again before stating skill complete? is it because you touched the privacy screen? I just am so nervous about missing a step. i guess they can't fault you for doing something like hand washing an extra time but who knows.
Hi, Lauren! No worries! You always immediately verbalize "washing hands" after removal & disposal of gloves, and you must end the skill with clean hands. Hope I resolved your confusion!
@@NURSEJAR thank you for the quick reply. I’ve been watching your videos on loop (peri care as we speak) but get concerned when there’s discrepancies between different sources of info. My test also keeps getting cancelled and rescheduled so that’s not helping my nerves. Do you have a list of the 9 Florida pro metric “automatic fails” if you miss them? I can’t find them consolidated anywhere
@laurenbyers1272 I understand. It's best to stick with one resource that you trust. The only way you'll receive an "automatic fail" with Prometric is if you do not perform a required skill. For example, if you are required to perform respiration, but you perform radial pulse instead, you will fail your exam because you omitted an entire skill. Each step in any skill is weighted differently. Some steps are more costly than others, particularly steps pertaining to safety. For example, if you are required to perform ROM on the left shoulder, but you perform it on the right shoulder, you will fail this skill. Another example is with feeding, if you do not sit the person upright before feeding, you will fail the skill because this is a huge safety concern. Back to handwashing! Now that I know you will be testing in Florida, you will be required to wash your hands with actual running water and soap at the beginning of your skills exam and at the end of your exam. Any other time you are required to wash your hands during your exam, you need only to verbalize doing so. Florida is the only Prometric state that will have 2 Evaluators observing the testing candidate. One will observe your hand hygiene at the beginning, and the other will observe your hand hygiene at the end. Hope I clarified your concerns!
