In this Out of the Park Baseball 23 video I go over how I personally promote and demote prospects in my minor league system! Check your manager settings/responsibilities, create a convenient custom view, prioritize stats then overall when making decisions, be sure to cut any aging players that have reached their ceilings in the lower minor league teams. I'm sure I forgot some rules I like to go by but hopefully this video helped you and you enjoyed the content. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments!

Do you do all the Player strategy for every player in the minors ?

I love controlling minor leagues. It's the best part of OOTP IMO. A and A+ are same level but A+ has more games played per season. I put the younger guys in A+ to develop more. I also start my college grads out in A and skip the R leagues. They'll play A, AA, AA. Guys under 20 start in R, A/A+, AA, AAA. Balancing A/A+ is most of the work and also the R leagues. I also create a feeder league to make drafting feel more realistic.

I agree! I enjoy it just as much as anything else in the game haha and that’s true, I realized I forgot to mention the season length difference between A/A+ afterwards.

Hi I have question I was looking at your screen how you have it and I noticed on mine the minorsbatting stats is hiding behind the scouting tab how do you get so stretch out to the right ? Is there something I should do ? I like your view.

Sorry for the late reply! But you can customize the view to show more or less stat categories! If you click the drop down arrow where it says “View: MinorsBattingStats” you’ll see an option to click customize and from there you can select or deselect different stat columns to add. At 2:08 in the video you’ll see how to do it there!

@@Tonyy-- Thanks for the reply i wish I could you send you a picture of what mine looks like. But for example where you have ops+,wrc+ and pi/pa and also happens with woba. it's like the first letter is not completely visible like it's bunch with the other catelgory.

@@juanredman9882 ohh okay I get what you’re saying. Do you happen to have the game zoomed in a little in the settings? Or possibly playing on a smaller screen on a laptop maybe? I think sometimes this may cause that. One thing you might could try is zooming out or decreasing your font size in your game settings and see if that helps.

Requesting a video showing how you set minor league/young player strategy? I just let AI do mine but noticed you don’t have that setting ticked.

I’d be happy to do that, I appreciate the suggestion. Specific strategies I can think of off the top of my head is sometimes you’ll have 2 way players come through. Unless they’re clearly able to do well at both pitching and hitting I will just untick the box to play them as a 2 way player to stop it and then I’ll set their position to what they’re better at. Another thing you can do is force start a player. If it’s someone who isn’t getting as much play time you want you can tick a box to force start them. I don’t touch too many other things for player specific strategies in the minors but I’d be happy to look at them and see if I find some valuable ones to start using.

Also you seem to be a. I'll check every single minor and control everything. I take a little bit middle approach. I'll disable ai for my top prospects and I'll manage them and Ilet AI decide what to do with the others.

Yeah I really enjoy controlling them all with a tiny bit of hope that one of the lower potential guys break out lol! I also like the approach you mentioned, very convenient way to make sure your top guys get the right treatment.

Do you factor in defensive fielding stats into promotion/demotion?

It is something I will glance at but I more so do just look at their defensive ratings instead of the stats. For CF and SS I do value range like most other people and of course a high catcher ability is valuable as well. I plan to make a video on promoting from Triple AAA to MLB because that’s when I like to be a little more picky with who is truly good enough. But at the lower levels I value production overall so they’re always being challenged and not dominating all the time.
