Over the past year, I’ve come to find that $200 is a fair price for. Quality pair of jeans. These will last me for several years. I look at it this way, I use to buy Levi’s all the time. I sold them for 15 years, so I was hooked on the quality of them. Well over the past 10 years or so the quality tanked. Now they cost on average $45 a pair ( I’ve paid $30-$60 a pair). A pair only last about 3 months. So if I were to buy a new pair of jeans (which I found myself doing) I would spend $180 a year on jeans. I’ve also spent. Or I on other jeans and found the to me equally as bad. So I’ve spent far more than $200 on pants that I no longer have. Not to say there are not jeans that can be had for far less that are good jeans. Wrangler for instance are still a good product at around $50-$60 a pair. But they will give you about a year of solid wear. Were these pants (if worn like jeans will wear out in about a year) will last several years if rotated. I get $200 is a hard pill to swallow for a single pair of pants. And I too will have to save up to get these. $45 a pair is a much easier pill to swallow. But in my search for pants that are the same or better quality than pants that wear made only 20 years ago, I found I need to spend more. And one finally thought…. These are damn comfortable! Haha. But ya, they are pricey.
Conceptually I would agree with you. My current jeans tend to last a couple years at minimum already, but maybe I’m not as rough on them. I have some Uniqlo ones that are still going good after three years and some prana ones I got half off at REI that are OK (I can see the prana ones getting a bit tattered after the one year mark though). But yea, if I had to buy jeans multiple times a year, I would have to consider something more durable and pricey.
@@RealMuperSan I have heard good things about Uniqlo clothing. There isn’t one anywhere near me, so I have never checked them out. I went in a store semi recently in Disney, but we were only looking ad the Disney t shirts for the tot. Next time I’ll have to check out their pants selection.
