I'm from Jamaica and I can say from the bottom of my heart that "what Adele did" does not bother me one bit. I am so confused as to why this was even an issue especially when people in Jamaica saw nothing wrong with it. Idk about anyone else but I loved it.
I love how Jamaicans are all proud of their culture being appreciated by White people whereas Black Americans are still in their feelings about CuLtUrAL aPprOpRiAtiOn
She just dressed up to celebrate Notting hill carneval It's the second biggest carneval in the world. She also grew up in an area with black majority people. I think only "woke" black americans got offended
JDMusic naw woke people becoming a real thing, this black lady going into a boba tea shop yelling Karen shit at Asians . Remember when Bruno Mars was stealing too, it’s impossible to categorize woke people
I think the problem is that Americans (I’m an American for the south, about American as it gets) think they exist in a bubble. That the rest of the world follows their same history. When in fact, the world around them exists completely independently of them. We are completely blind of the history surrounding other countries, and judge them as our own.
Devon Welch I have no clue. I’m just seeing that it’s a very American thing to pump your chest no matter what. Also be very delusional about things that should be obvious then be very upset that no one told us. It’s very American to be a hater
Its so annoying. She's from Tottenham. The city has a huge African and Afro Carribean population of up to 26%-28% of the communities population. And London is heavy in Afro Carribean culture. Just sickened me that people came out that she's appropriating culture where she's actually attending an Afro Carribean event in her home city of London. Worse off? A majority of people who weren't aware of her background didn't know this. But they had to say BS
The moment Adele appeared with her weight loss...the hate started. Dig where is this hate stemming from. Therefore, whatever she will do moving forward, will be criticized🤦🏻♀️
This dynamic is basically every interracial friendship I’ve ever had.. just a bunch of dudes from different races ripping each other knowing they all got love for one another.
100% man. The people who get all offended are usually people who live in ethnic bubbles and don't interact with people outside their own race or culture.
Don't say it.... you might be called the enemy. 😂😂😂 But on a serious note....a lot of people weren't even aware that she was all dressed up for Notting Hill. And EVERYONE is pretty much invited to Notting Hill. Everyone. This whole thing was nollocks and I'm glad a lot of people pushed back
Adel grew up in Tottenham a black area and has dated black guys and has ALWAYS supported the black community, period . Its TOXIC AMERICANS screaming cultural appropriation while us English people are fully behind Adele .and as a Jamaican I have absolutely no Problem with this "out of many ,one people" is the Jamaican motto white, black , yellow it doesn't matter . 🇯🇲👏❣️ And if you find her wearing that a problem you will have a heart attack and die if you visit Notting hill carnival 🤯 it's held every year on August bank holiday .
@oglaisson it was a joke. Calm down. I was just going off of what the guys were saying. Nothings serious on this channel. I'm sure they're actually a loving couple in real life. Thanks for ruining the light-hearted vibe of this whole channel.
I will see how that's only one point for a Adele. That's a point for both of them. They're both happy and unproblematic and the living their best lives
@Charles Grguras I was responding to this comment. Not the video....the fuck dude chill out. Youre the one taking all of this way to seriously for some thats aware all of these are jokes. What I said was so mundane like, calm
As a French citizen, i can assure you, there is not ONE adult person called "Beyonce" in France (maybe some weird parents called their girl like that because of fandom but that was not a thing before Beyonce became a thing)
@@lesshugah3003 yes, I am But I am also, like I said, a French citizen Oh and Adele is a name that is not unheard of in France, so the entire point kinda backfires actually 😂
That’s the thing we don’t care what Americans think because we realize they aren’t too smart I am Jamaican and we love Adele, the thing is people like to watch other people especially on social media
Lol not all Americans but I’m American and I complain on the stupidity daily it’s embarrassing and I agree totally with this comment. So most Americans probably 98.9999%
And it should be normal for everyone to do these jokes, really. If you truly believe we're all same whatever the color, you naturally make jokes about white, black, purple and what not... without thinking twice about it. And it doesn't matter. But i get your point, that was a fun one :D
Alexx was spot on about London and how we view cultural appropriation...expecially during carnival! We appropriate everyone and that's why I think it's the best city in the world! 😁
3:30 Akaash's expression sums up everything that's wrong in the world right now. Adele is from Tottenham, one of the most diverse boroughs in London, if not our entire country. Any Americans calling this cultural appropriation are truly clueless about Notting Hill Carnival and are just desperate to be offended at the first available opportunity.
I'm from the Caribbean and I do think Americans and by extension African Americans love to gate keep. At least that's how they project themselves onto other cultures.
@@pierre-4 is that what i said? Because I’m pretty sure my comment is above yours. French people are considered white europeans, just like Italians, english, and germans etc. Dont put words in my mouth.
She probably did put in a ton of work to lose weight 🤷🏽♂️ that doesn’t mean she didn’t go under the knife too. Clearly not facial reconstruction but why not a lil titty lift?
Hi Bros, I'm french and Beyonce is NOT a french name whatsoever :D I also had a hard time getting what was the issue with the jamaican bikini to be honest... this is crazy. You can look at her and think ''wow that's cool she's showing her appreciation for this country and its culture and all that'' or you can be sad and scared and think ''uuh appropriate culture, bad, let's get violent again please i'm bored''. On a side note, you can read about the importance of jamaican music in london and how it influenced british musicians and was a huge part of the culture in 80's england.
My first name is Scottish and my last name is English. Louisiana black dude with also French and Cherokee heritage, which to prove Andrew wrong, makes me Creole.
LOL people need to leave Adele alone. Also they need to leave Beyonce alone. They're both happy unproblematic women that are living their best lives. One is Raising her children the other one is having fun with her new boyfriend and new found health.
Americans are so caught up with race, nothing can be just as is, there as to be some type of racial motivation to it....Notting Hill carnival is older than some of the people complaining...only black Americans are having a tiffy about this pic...Stop It.
Cultural appropriation is largely an American issue. If a white person wore a traditional attire here in Kenya, she'd probably be praised for trying to "assimilate"..
This is not a discussion that 2 men should be having, 1. 2. We should stop with this who's blacker than who. Yall should no better than that. A women's struggle is her own. #toxicaf
Beyoncé is technically mixed. She has white people and mixed people in her family and ancestry. You don’t have to have a parent of a different ethnicity to be mixed. It can come from any point in your lineage.
no she's not, the average african american has 10-20% european DNA. She's not anymore mixed than the average african american. Also if you look at her family tree, I have, her father is full black and Tina Knowles has 4/6 direct ancestors who are black. Tina Knowles has 1 slaveowner and one mixed woman in her family tree. Beyond that it's all slaves. Stop speaking out of your ass.
As someone who is Louisiana Creole, holyshit they could not be more wrong. 🤣🤣 Creole is a culture and a heritage and there are dark skin Louisiana Creole people. It's a subculture of African American people like the Gullah Geechee. You didn't know African American people have Incredibly diverse cultures and Heritages. That's why if you Google African American Creole, Louisiana Creole is going to pop up. Go to the media page for African-American, under languages your kind of see Gullah Geechee and Louisiana Creole. I almost feel disrespected even though I know they're just being dumb but it's like holyshit how ignorant can one be😂😂😂
Intel from France arriving here as you properly twisted a few things around 5:00. I don't know how you got up to think Beyonce is a common name in France but there isn't a single person named Beyonce here ahahah, that was truly fun to hear. And Adele is a name that comes from old germanic languages. It's even in the top 100 names given to French babies since 1900's (even though the average Adele in France today is gonna be in her early fifties so kinda getting out of use).
Halle Candi it’s really insulting saying who’s blacker comparing a white woman to a black woman. 🤦🏽♀️ find of validates the whole white privilege conversation. Adele can get away with appreciating culture while Beyoncé seen as using it for gain
Blah Blah it’s not appropriating anything, Notting hill is for every race and people are simply appreciating when the first Jamaican immigrants came over to the UK and mixed with the working class people and shared their music with ours to create genres such as ska music. Look at Amy winehouse for example who is polish and Russian and Jewish who grew up surrounded by multicultural people and was a Ska and Reggae regular in that community who performed at Notting hill too. Jamaican culture is bled into the UK everywhere from the music to the fashion. Our working class/lower and lower middle class are Jamaicans, Polish, British, Irish, Lithuanian, Nigerian, Syrian, Afghan etc all living together in close communities, there isn’t as much of a separation of culture as there is in the USA because of systematic oppression so putting an American perspective on it twists things, it would probably be a different story in America.
When people dye their hair blond and they aren’t typically blond I’d not get upset. So I also don’t get upset if people dread or braid their hair and their hair isn’t typically dreadable to tight braidable. Do you. Rock ya look.
Beyoncé's full name is Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter. Her first name is a tribute to mother Tina Knowles' French maiden name Beyincé, pronounced "bay-EN-say." Tina didn't think there were enough men in the Beyincé family to keep the surname going, so she adapted it and made it her daughter's first name.
She’s not ADELE can’t sing dangerously in love or love on top. Her throat would combust worse than before she just sings like a black church singer and she’s white so y’all think she’s incredible when she’s really one note and mediocre
