Don’t know how we won that today but somehow we did. Felt like it was going to be our day after the disallowed goal, even though Hibs were the better team for most of the match. Looking forward to our first final in 5 years. If you’d told me after that horrible night at Darvel back in January we’d be in a cup final at the end of the year I’d never have believed it
Love the honest and humble evaluation. I feel my team hibs should have comfortably won the game but weren’t clinical and Aberdeen game management was spot on
Why were Hibs the better team? The match stats don't back that statement up. Very little between the side apart from a Mio goal, and that is all that matters as far as Aberdeen are concerned.
Their inter reaction wasn't exactly welcome on Hope st in Glasgow city centre when they were battering each other and smashing pub windows , sheep botherers the lot of them should have played at murrayfield
Get VAR gone, ruining football. Martin Boyle was inline with two defenders and what about the challenge on Vente. Hibs should have had a penalty. Corrupt!
Another great vlog Sam. When we spoke on Tuesday at Cowdenbeath we touched on Aberdeen being negatively impacted by Conference League football. A real rollercoaster of performances and today looked like it was a poor one but the most important thing in a semi final is the result. Playing poorly and not losing can be a good sign but they will have to manage their workload better - play Frankfurt the Thursday before the final.
Coverage on Scottish football is a pleasure to listen to. (Some fun facts on Aberdeen) Aberdeen have won as many European trophies as both Old Firm teams put together. Aberdeen are the last team to beat the most succefull team in europe (Real Madrid) in ANY major final Aberdeen have played in front of more fans in a single game than Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan or and all English clubs ever have Four league titles, six Scottish League Cups and seven Scottish Cups, including a record three in a row during the 1980's, the Scottish team have won two different European trophies, The European Cup Winners Cup and European Super Cup.
Interesting fact one of the European Trophies Aberdeen is a glorified friendly between the winners of the European Cup / UEFA Cup / Champions League / Europa League, another interesting fact about one of the European Trophies Aberdeen won is that it no longer exists
Typical Hibs, snatching defeat from the Jaws of victory... but that's the life of a Hibs fan, I've lost count if the times I've been to hampden watching Hibs in semis and finals...at least 20 but I've only witnessed 2 league Cup wins and the famous Scottish Cup win over Sevco in 2016. Anyway, we will keep on backing the Hibees and probably keep on being sickened because that's the life of a Hibee. I was sitting about 30 feet away from you but didn't see you..if I had I would have come over. I don't know who I want to win tomorrow but I want Aberdeen to beat them in the final. Congrats to the Dons, hope you do it. Aberdeen fans always turn up and back their team, I hope they have a great week before Xmas.
Hope you enjoyed the day. I was sitting just a few rows in front of you and the media section. Hibs really should be in the final on the balance of play and possession. However football is a game of goals and Aberdeen managed that, so good luck to them in the final. Keep doing your excellent coverage of scottish football . 🙂
Cany believe we didny win that game, tbh I thought our goal was offside when I was at the match but having watched it on Tele I think it shud have stood, hope Aberdeen win it now
There was (seemingly) a record 42’000 crowd for the Irish cup final (a Bohemians v Saint Pats Dubliner derby). This herein Scottish game was a semi final not a final and both clubs had to come for much further afield. But still.
Those were the determination and hard work which Aberdeen proved that even though, they did not attack a lot and being a man down, they did not give up and won the match and also, through to the final, good friends!!!:-D
Boyle was clearly offside, and Miovski is the best striker in SPL. Sadly he’s not going to be at Aberdeen after January, so they’re probably not going to improve after Europe lol!
@@bobbysutherland4700 he plays in a shite team, and doesn’t get a million chances your boys get every game. You’re telling me Kyogo would get Aberdeen to the title?
I there with my son who wanted to see the Dons at Hampden, drunken idiots spoiling it aside saying it was a boring game is an understatement!! BOTH teams were terrible, no one deserved to win it. We will not win the final playing like that! Still not convinced by Robson, makes some strange decisions.
I don't understand fans leaving a 1-0 match early. I also don't understand fans who are so fair-weather. I mean, by doing so, they're clearly only supporting their club when they're doing well and abandoning them when they're not.
The dandy’s and I like your assessment on managers of these 3 clubs who don’t have the money like those 2 Glasgow clubs but have to get success every season and go to Glasgow to win these trophies with Glasgow refs, us dons travel further than any of them to get stuck in the stand that is not their home end in a “neutral” stadium and will not get a 50/50 share of tickets for a showpiece final like it should be and it’s an awful time of year for it to travel there but we will.
rangers officially died, players walked away, rangers voted for sevco to be in the league,2 clubs.250 tickets sold season tickets that is, then 3 weeks later the lie was put in place then the zombies bought tickets.
Feel sorry for the 16k Hibs fans who went through. Clearly need a stronger squad - bringing on two 16 year olds in a semi is great but shows we have a small squad
Sam, its great you cover all sorts of games, but I need to tell you rangers weren't put down down to league 2. They had to apply to play in scottish football, after they went bust. Administration and liquidation, doesn't mean the same as put down to the lower echelons. No team, has ever went from second in the top league to the bottom league in scottish football. It's an impossible feat, even for rangers and the corrupt SFA. Good luck to all teams in the Semi's, hopefully after Aberdeen's victory they will get Hearts in the final. It would have been good to see an all Edinburgh final, as both teams have struggled a bit this season.
No offense to the Celtic and Rangers fans, but it’s good to see teams outside the Old Firm getting the chance to step on the big stage. Hopefully the Dons get a chance to shine up some new silverware.
Do club supporters like Aberdeen, Hibernian and Hearts expect European football? Apart from the old firm, I supporters would rather see their team doing well than worry about the expectation of winning a trophy or qualifying for a European competition. That is just a welcomed bonus.
@@jascam74 A trophy is a trophy. I don't wish to descrate clubs achievements, but given the landscape in Scottish football it is difficult to see past one of the old firm team with their financial clout not to win all the domestic trophies. .
@stevenwilcox8631 it's been that way for many decades now and only getting worse because of Champions League money. It's perfectly acceptable to desecrate a clubs achievements if it was found via courts and law that they cheated to achieve those things. Financial doping is no different to performance enhancing drugs (doping) to gain an unfair and illegal advantage. Although glasgow rangers were liquidated in 2012 for financial doping and along with that, the term "old firm" died too, for those who weren't paying attention. 2012 isn't old in anyones book. Add in the fact that the average human is quite weak of character, so you have the spineless/easily influenced glory hunting element to contend with where people not from Glasgow support a Glasgow team, instead of their local. Per capita, Scotland has probably the worst problem with the glory hunting element, which reflects quite badly on us as a society, I think. So yes, I agree because of these things it is difficult to see a team outwith the arse cheeks winning most things. That's why nobody outwith Scotland gives 2 shineybshites about Scottish football. Probably the most uncompetitive league in Europe. That's not the fault of the other clubs, it's the spineless glory hunters causing the chasm of disparity by p1551ng in their own tent and taking a dump in their own kettle, then walking around with a sense of achievement for doing so. Proud, even. Meanwhile REAL glaswegians laugh at the plastic wannabes from all over Scotland, desperately trying to be like them. Ryan Jack is a classic example. 2 decades in Aberdeen speaks with an Aberdeen accent. 2 WEEKS in Glasgow and he develops a nasal whine to accompany the Glasgow byrawaybigmanbut accent and pseudo hard man, growler, slack jawed facial expression ....trying desperately to fit in, rather than just be himself.
You spoil your credibility mate with your “…Rangers got put down…” ! They did NOT, they were liquidated and formed a new Club which had to APPLY for entry into the bottom division. This Rangers entity have NEVER won the League Cup - do you research properly and don’t just pander to the blue pound!

Rangers will win it, there are only decent 2 teams in Scotland, I'd love to see Aberdeen or Cowdenbeath win a trophy in Scotland but it's nae gonnae happen :)
Aberdeen have won plenty trophies and are the most successful club in Scotland after the old firm so that’s a bit of a strange comment. Considering we also pumped rangers 3-1 at their own ground a few weeks ago ! STAND FREE
@@Mequit.1 unfortunately not mate couldn’t get a baby sitter this weekend I will be watching though and will DEFINITELY be going to the final! 😁🇱🇻 CONE ON THE JT’s!
A Aberdeen v hearts final would be good The final is in December 😊 Football is a strange sport 😮 if you go Germany, Bayer Leverkusen are doing well :) Bayer is the company that own them. 😅 A £50 non league challenge would be good 🎉 Not £20, you already did that
@@flaw3dgenius222 Hibernian means a football team from Edinburgh in Scotland. You know, Scotlands capital city. Hibernian fc do not fly the Irish tricolour. A few fans do as our founders were Irish. It’s not something to get hung up on really. We happily fly the Scottish saltire in conjunction with Hibs flags. We also have a significant number that follow Scotland home and away. I’ve not met any that follow Ireland strangely.
Love the narrative created here about “non old firm” teams winning the cup, completely forgetting rangers have 2 trophies in 12 years, they should never be put in the same sentence as Celtic
Clearest evidence yet of the SFA anti-hibs corruption. Goal wasn’t offside. Lines are marked in the wrong place and aren’t even parallel. They turn ignore a blatant penalty and you could claim the goal came from a pull on the shirt. If hibs were allowed to play by the same rules as everyone else we would dominate third place and compete for trophies year in year out.
Mate a really don't think it would be that simple lol. We would definetly challenge for 3rd or 4th but still it wouldn't be every single season and wiinin European Trophies
