@Jay Silver yeah seeing the question confused me a lot, it just had ln tacked onto the end and made me question what small amount of Calc I remember lol

I suppose we could assume it was ln(1), with the 1 implied. In that case, it would be a constant value, and therefore the derivative that James found would be correct. But something tells me they just didn't write the whole problem down from wherever they found it.

I think the correct answer is (2x^2)(ln) + (x^3)(1/x) EDIT: Nevermind that would work if it was ln(x) - You are correct it's undefined.
