Thanks for watching guys! Edit: Woah this is getting a lot more attention than I thought it would! This video is a segment taken from a vlog I made recently: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sQKPcgCTvYE.htmlsi=SruD7yl-kgn98Vdr If you're interested in my grading process I also made a video on which is linked here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pw1a96TQSJo.html If you just wanna mess around with the LUT I built and used for this video you can find it here: bf47dd-7.myshopify.com/products/portra-v2-film-emulation-lut Thanks for the amazing response everyone! I'm really happy that everyone seems to be enjoying this little video I uploaded on a whim
Best for these type of shots is the sony cmaera for low lights, and use a polarizing filter to remove certain reflection when shooting outside of windows, get a bloom/mist filter as well, and emulate a film stock in davinci. You have to understand composition to achieve these looks. this said my man Elijah these are looking so good. Very good color and compos. Props instant subbed.
Wow, Did not expect this to be this good! This has been sitting in my watch later list for a few days. Should have watched sooner. Dope concept and composition!
Would be great to see some BTS photos of your rigging process, was it done with suction mounts? Seems SUPER stable, especially considering it's a 50mm lens and a camera with very noticeable rolling shutter - but your footage shows no jitter or jello at all! :)
Did this once for a film project, literally duct taped my camera to the passenger seat and just drove around at night. Still one of my favorite things I've recorded.
the music was very good! When there was more light in the shot the music was a bit more distracting, but when the shots got darker it felt more focus, the music also felt more focusing at that point. Very nice!
If you play it again without sound, you'll see it actually proves that giving your footage a soundtrack is good idea. The mount vs. cameraman doesn't matter that much.
There's a video somewhere on youtube where a guy is driving around in his car at night talking about life and depression, he has the camera mounted to the hood looking in on him and a microphone inside the cab. It really brings a different feel to the video, I'd recommend it but I have forgotten the name
Yoooo honestly i think this speaks volumes to how far SENSORS have come. I'm guessing this was shot raw? Nutty cleanliness vs what i was shooting on a 5dmkii 10 years ago. So little noise. Makes me want to shoot some footage with my sony, i mostly just hobby photo now. Cheers, enjoy the Al G Rhythm ride 🕺
wooo, amazing footage, using some little details and everything get better, the music help a lot too, a bit more and i saw the terminator or some replicans around the scene XD
dude, this is literally insane. its beautiful. id love to learn how you color grade a video like this from flat slog in the samera to every step in edit. and even if you could drop a complete lighting guide, and what you look for with framing, id love to learn.
Let me break this scene down Good camera + lens combo. For that nice color grading and nice bokeh, f1.4-2.8 really makes things more cinematic. Nice color grading with some film emulation, we all love it The dirtness of the lens, how do you do it? notice that on bright parts theres dirt bokeh, did you just sprinkle water on the lens filter? Amazing sound added on top of it too, perfect
Well, if you have a crazy camera together with some crazy sophisticated mounting systems, it sure is a nice thing. That was certainly not a Gopro look or a camera the average Joe gets. Though already mounting your Gopro to stuff can lead to insane visuals.
is the mirror shot from the inside mounted on the tripod with straps? looks really nice, can't wrap my head around where / how it was placed! awesome vid!
That looks amazing but I don't think I can risk putting my expensive camera like that, the road in NZ is bumpy as h. And the suspension on Tesla is horribly stiff
