The funny thing is that the riff is relatively simple. But it's still hard as hell to play, and I can barely play it at half speed cleanly, let alone full speed while singing. Probably means I need some practice.
Supporting Caste doesn't need any more than 1 listen to know it shreds. These dudes know how to play their instruments. And they play shit that appeals to me big time. Super talented band.
My favorite band since i was 15, now i'm 31 and they're keep getting better! Supporting case was very good record, but i think these guys can come with something real BIG next time. They're now in their prime time.
these guys just keep on improving themselves. they have a great mixed style of hardcore, metal and thrash and molded it to their own style. Along with their take on society and lyrics this is one of the best bands around.
@81Christian311 yeah, it's pretty mindblowing. Don't get me wrong, Chris Hannah gets lots of appreciation, and Propagandhi is definitely a "bands-band" but on the grand scope of things I feel he is criminally under appreciated.
Never seen these guys play live, they rarely (i.e. never) play my area of the planet, but as someone who has gotten a lot slower (mentally too, I guess) in the past 15+ years, I can't not be in awe of Canada's finest (except for Voivod, of course).
fuck! can't wait on this album. hope they 'evolved' their sound even more. Damn Chris is a beast doing kinda leadparts and singing all together. They just keep getting better and better. The only band I buy a new album without even listening to it before..
@FuelledByHamish "Equal protection under the law is the only viable form of litigated equality." Consumerism is expanded by voluntary participation and guided by the democratic participation in the market. I'm not pro consumerism or against it so much, but it's merely a reflection of the people that participate in it. Egalitarianism is a philosophy not a political system but any political system that incorporates egalitarianism uses force. Now what exactly is your definition of true freedom?
...playing guitar that fast must be hard enough. Having two people playing the same shit together must take loads of practice. Watch Beaver and Chris's hands. They are so spot on together.
Holy Shit, love the guitar as I have a 68 SG Standard with the lyre tailpiece myself(with new frets!)..also, the new song and practice space kicks ass!
It's like I'm a fucking fuse and you're a fucking hot flame. And now I'm daring you to step up into my path. You're a billboard in my face. A bullhorn in my ear. Thanks for the status update. You've made it crystal clear. I'm a fucking fuse and you're a big, dumb flame. And now I'm daring you... You're a bullhorn in my face. A billboard in my ear. Thanks for the status update. You've made it crystal clear.
seriously, this song is only 1:03, and probably one of 12 or 13. if the rest of the new album is like this it'll definitely be better then Supporting Caste, which is my 2nd favorite Prop album
@jrack13 newsflash: Propagandhi made A LOT of money for a DIY punk band in the 90s punk explosion. They've also given a shitload of money, and personal time back to many good causes. But what do I know, I got a second job to save money and bought a $1400 half stack. I guess that makes me a poseur.
I think youthbytes is saying work hard and save some cash to buy shit like guitars out right. There's a difference in building credit and going on a spending spree with a credit card. If I need gas in my car, I put it on my credit card. If I want a new lens for my camera, I save money and buy it out right.
@jrack13 I work part-time minimum wage. I have a $1400 Gibson SG and I sure as hell didn't have $1400 to put down on it right on the spot. It's called financing...as long as you have a credit card any larger music store will do it. If you're serious about being a band you'll sacrifice it all, everything you have, debt, etc... for good equipment. It's kind of hard to take YOU seriously when you don't even know what musicians do for instruments.
@SSSMforlife1 It's like they have no historical or even contemporary perspective or context for the things they are talking about. Look up Milton Friedman, Thomas Sowell, and Ayn Rand if you're really interested. Just one man's opinion, that's all. /watch?v=4rcNR63hNoc
These dudes in propagandhi are middle aged men. If the don't have $1000 they have problems. $1000 isn't much money these days people. The band is their means of income. They must be making some money if they tour the globe. I don't care if they have millions. They still play sick tunes.
@chevillian2 Hell no, I wouldn't waste time with some fiction love story dumbed down crap like Atlas Shrugged. But "The virtue of Selfishness", and "An introduction to Objectivist Epistemology" and her other non-fiction books are great imo.
