I show you how to propagate Asian Jasmine plants in water. It’s not that hard, just a few tricks to help you successfully propagate this popular ground cover plant. This is a great way to create Asian Jasmine Groundcover plants for production to sell or just to have more plants for your landscape.

root stimulator would not really work for the water method, if you were to propagate in soil I would use it then

I really enjoyed your video, have you ever tried this with confederate jasmine? I have tried methods for propagation found on you tube but havent seen any success. I take cuttings, dip them in root hormone, place them in a container of good soil/indirect sunlight. Water them every day and they will live for may weeks but one by one do not survive. I think that they really need a misting on a regular basis, misting systems can be expensive and time consuming to put together. Thank-you. You have a good teaching voice/manner

Thank You for your comments!, The ideal way is as you said, with a misting setup, Probably the best alternate way is to take cuttings and put them in water and let them develop roots, as soon as they get a decent set of roots, put them in a good outdoor potting mix and keep them moist until they establish a good root system. I put some cuttings in a water bottle outside about a week ago and they already have roots starting to form. They will root quicker outside with the heat, as long as they are never allowed to dry out.

I have never done Ivy, but I am certain it will grow the same, probably easier than jasmine. I may try some this summer!

good indirect light, I kept mine outside but out of direct sunlight until they form roots

It took a little over a month, Unfortunately It was so late in the year the winter weather got them,,I am going to do some more earlier in the year and I will also have my greenhouse to overwinter them this time, There is an update video showing them rooted ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VVVYA0FLaRA.html
