I've been experimenting with propagating plants in my freshwater community aquarium. I wonder how figs would do this way...

So what exactly are the names of those cuttings? Basically you just lay them in there and they sprout? And you are creating a warm humid environment for them? What are the requirements for the outdoors for them to Thrive? Interesting video I’m learning a lot! Be interesting to see how it works with sand. Thanks for sharing Tom!

I-258 and Hative d'argenteuil figs. I've started them late. Yes they need a warm humid environment to form roots. Some people say they have success just putting them in a jar of water. I use to put them in a plastic shoe box with sphagnum moss but sometimes gnats would become a problem. Once roots form you put them into pots with well draining soil. It's a warm climate plant so people in the north have to bring them into into a shed or wrap them to protect them from freezing temperatures.

Make sure that lightning will not melt the plastic cover from heat
